Closing delayed by member administration

I fedexed my paperwork for my add-on June 9th. It was logged in due to their back-up June 18th. I called 2 days ago and asked when I'd close and was told, "After my down payment is received, when will you be sending it in?" Well, I said, I sent that in with my contract. We don't have it, they said.
When I write a $2100 check, I know where that is. I know I sent it with my contract. In order to move closing along and clear up my checking account, I put the down payment on credit card and cancelled the check for a fee. I wonder why I wasn't notified that they didn't have my check and I wonder where that check got to?
I'll close sometime this week. Mistakes happen but when you make a mistake with my money, I get a little upset. Anybody else have a problem like this?...spruce
 
I had a similar problem with the IRS a few years ago. Only we had the cancelled check!
 
We had a similar situation with our second purcahse at VWL. One call to our Guide, and the problem was all taken care of. My impression was that copies of everything are made by a compliance officer on site at the DVC sales office. The guide called me back in a few hours after my phone call, and gave me the new closing date. There was no inconvience of anytype, and he even asked if a reservation was needed to be made so we didn't miss any 11 or 7 month windows that were coming up.

I understand your concern though, I hope it all works out for you, as it did for me.
