Hi everyone,

I am hoping some of you can help me. We are moving and Dh and I are interested in getting some help w/our master bedroom closet as far as organizing. We each had our own closet in this house, in the new one we will be sharing a large one. There is a lot of wasted space in the middle of it. Costco has some sort of partnership w/ California Closets so we thought about calling them for a free in-home consultation. Have any of you had this company or a similar one come in and make suggestions about organizing? Have any of you actually had them make/install a system for you? let me hear it -- the good, the bad, the ugly, the organized! Those of you who have used type of company, did you find it worth it?

DH is very handy, so to be honest, if the quote is outrageous, we can probably make something ourselves.

Thanks for any replies!

I have one room in our house with the system....it's not California closets but something similar. It was very expensive, but I really love it. If I could afford it, I'd re-do all our closets!

We have just used the do-it yourself type stuff from home depot.

My cousin did have several companies come in and give them estimates. They felt like the prices were really high - but she did say they used some of the ideas they got when they ended up insalling the do-it yourself stuff.

Some of those companies do put in some really nice things though - looks just like high end furniture!

I checked the prices out for my first house and nearly FAINTED! Then I got up and bought my own stuff from Home Depot and The Container Stores spent a few days doing it myself!I went to the Container Store's elfa sale and went NUTS! Installation is pretty simple and you can adjust it to your own needs.

I've since done it in both my sister's homes and two of other closets in my home.

If your hubby is handy, check out the closet organization areas in Home Depot and Lowes. It can save you a ton of money!
