We're arriving in Orlando about 5:00 p.m on a Wed and and want to spend one day at IOA before going to Disney for six days at BWI. We don't want to spend the money for an on-site, but just need a decent hotel close to Universa l - if we're not too exhausted, we might go in that night as well. Any ideas/opinions. Is Citywalk worthwhile (me, hubby, and 13 yr old DD) ?

Try the Masters Economy Inn on I-Drive & Jamacian Ct. Mid 50's per night. Clean, in good repair, quiet.

there's an amerisuites next to UO, as well as 2 rather new hilton properties - the garden inn and homewood suites. start with those. the parks and citywalk have free parking in the decks after 6 pm, so you can check out citywalk at no charge if you want. is citywalk 'worthwile'? it depends what you're looking to do. and all of those ideas are answered with a yes, unless you're looking to buy disney items.

There are so many good offsites near Universal. Do a search on Universal at www.hotelkingdom.com The hotels on Vineland, Kirkman and Major Roads are the closest.

I've stayed at the Hampton Inn, the Suburban Lodge, The Radisson and the Holiday Inn Universal and would recommend them all.

Check out the Universal boards for all the info you need on USO and Citywalk.

Sheraton Studio City is close. I stayed there last year & booked it again for July @ $69.50 a night before Disney. It's clean & covenient. Also, they offer a shuttle (you can walk if you like but, I don't recommend it).

Select Sheraton Studio City then Shop & Stay Package. This gives you free breakfast & a discount card for Festival Bay Mall.

If you don't want to do that you can go to http://www.starwoodhotels.com/sheraton/index.html

at the bottom right hand corner click on the AAA symbol & you can get a rate of $84 a night.

Hope this helps!!!
