We are staying at the BWV in Epcot area and my parents are coming to visit and need one night stay before they join us there. We want to get them a Hampton or Hilton (they are HHonor members) closest to Epcot. Anyone know the answer to this?

there are a couple of hilton properties on palm parkway just a little ways away from the crossroads entrance on 535 to disney ..... it would not be more than a 10 tp 15 minute drive to get to BWV depending on traffic and traffic lights.....very easy to get in and out from 535

there is a hampton inn next to a homewood suites ( they were both about the same cost on different weekends ) when we stayed there in november.....

there is also a hilton and double tree property on the road leading from 535 at the crossroads to downtown disney

they can probably get good information from the www.hilton.com website....

That is the Hampton Inn East. I stay there a lot for *one night* stays. It's the easiest to get to Epcot. It's right on I-4. I can't tell you how to get there because i just do it by memory, sorry. It usually has the best rates of all the Hilton Honor hotels in the area . The Hampton Inn West is by Animal Kingdomw and is also a very easy drive to Epcot.

By Hampton Inn East, do you mean the Lake Buena Vista Hampton?

Just an FYI if this is the Hampton Inn Maingate West location near Sherberth Road you are mentioning. It apparently recently changed to a condotel and is now called Meridian Palms. :guilty:

We have stayed at that HI several times for one night before checking into our Disney resort and really, really liked it. I was online trying to make a reservation for December a couple of weeks ago and could never get it to come up at the main Hilton site. After doing some checking, I found out about the change. There is one other Hampton Inn that has changed recently to The Palms by Meridian. I can't remember if it was the east location or not. I am still trying to find a conveniently located HI for one night since I am a Hilton Honors member, also.

No matter what Hampton Inn location they stay at, your parents will be getting a very clean room & very good continental breakfast. My family & I always stay at Hampton Inn's along Interstate 75 along the way to WDW & back home & we have never ever had problems at any locations we have stayed at.

This is what I am doing, also. We just need 1 night closest to Epcot and with breakfast the next morning....then we move on to USO.

True, but just in case anyone happened by and started searching for the HI west, I thought I'd save them the effort! :teeth:

I really like that HI myself...I'll miss it.

Actually I posted this question 1 Year and 7 months ago! Wow those search engines are good! Good to have the information out there.

Here I am over a year later searching for a Hilton/Hampton property! We also noticed earlier this year that our favorite Homewood Suites has become something else.

OMG, I didn't notice it was in 2004. lol
It is good info to know.

Partridge4ever...I assume you are talking about the one in Kissimmee on Parkway Blvd?? That was our favorite also.... so sad it has changed hands. And I haven't heard good things about the Homewood Suites in Orlando.... guess we will be looking for someplace new on our next trip..........P

I think it would have had a Lake Buena Vista address. If you go left as you leave the road w/ the Downtown Disney resorts, it's a mile or so on the right. It wasn't spectacular, but for the size room, distance to Disney and the fact that it was FREE with Hilton Honors points, I had no complaints.

I just got an email from Hilton saying that the Hampton Inn Maingate East is no longer a Hilton property. I believe that is the one you can see from I-4, near Celebration. There is a Homewood Suites there too, which was the East property.
Geez, what is going on in Orlando with Hilton??

So, I just checked the Hilton Site.
Both hampton Inn's East & West are gone.
Homewood Suites on Palm Parkway and Parkway East are gone.

I wonder what they are turning into. I know they just renovated the HI East.

I don't know why they are changing these properties. Any time I've stayed at what was HI Maingate West, the occupancy rate seemed good and everything looked to be well maintained and in good shape. The staff was so nice and helpful and would always welcome us back. This HI was changed into what was described as a 'condotel'. (I think the same was done to the east location) It was renovated and accommodations now include a kitchen and sitting area. Apparently, you can buy a timeshare for $10,000!

I'm just bummed because I always stayed at the west HI for one night before heading to Disney. I knew what I was getting and the location was so handy and easy to get to my resort the next day. Now, I've got to scout out another place...does Hilton know they have messed up my plans??!!
