Wondered if anyone can tell me if there's a decent dollar store nearby which might sell toys that can be used at SAB. I'd rather not drag all that on board the plane and if I can find one that sells water toys, small trucks, sand toys, etc., I'd rather buy them there and leave them with someone else who might like to use them when we're through.

Thanks!

P.S...If anyone is interested in our "loot", let me know. We leave BCV on Sat., Feb. 19th.

I don't know where the nearest dollar store is, but how to you plan to get there? If you are renting a car and don't find that a big expense, why not just get your toys at the water parks or resort stores?

Actually we are renting a car, but based on our last visit, I found the water toys to be at a premium at the resorts. I don't mind spending a dollar here and there for that kind of thing, but I remember buying a sand bucket and shovel at a resort and it cost something like $6!

Plus, ds (5) loves to play with little construction trucks and cars in the sand and I've always found Dollar Stores seem to have cheapy little ones that you don't mind losing or leaving behind (Lord knows we have enough of them at home!) :goodvibes

I saw one last month right next to the Albertson's supermarket on the Orange Blossom ?Trail (not sure if this is the correct name) exit on the way to WDW from MCO. The landmark we use is the Home Depot, but be careful because once you see it it's almost too late to get off the exit. Watch for Orange Blossom exit signs ahead of time. :wizard:

If you go to www.dollartree.com you can do a search. I used 32830 (SSR and OKW) and there are NINE Dollar Tree Stores within 9 miles of that zip!

There are also two in VB (three and seven miles away) and one in Hilton Head!

I seem to recall that most of the resort pool area dining facilities (like Hurricane Hannah's) sell a kid's meal in a sandbucket. Do they still do that? Then you could get a meal, plus a sandpail and shovel for about $6.
