We are looking to stay in a house for our group of 11. Obviously there are thousands to choose from but I am unfamiliar with the area. What cities, subdivision names should I be looking for to stay relatively close and cut down our drive time?

Thanks

Lake Buena Vista would be closest to Downtown Disney and Magic Kingdom. Celebration would be closest to Epcot, while Kissimmee spans a good part 192 and parts are closest to Epcot, Hollywood Studios and Animal Kingdom.

HTH!!! :goodvibes

The closest homes to Disney would be Windsor Hills, Rolling Hills, Windsor Palms, Formosa Gardens Estates, Emerald Island, Sunset Lakes, Indian Creek. These are all in the same area which is about 7- 15 minutes from Disney park parking lots.

Windsor Hills is #1 then just click the markers around it for the other names.

Sympatico is correct. You need to select homes that say 5 minutes - those that say 10-15 are more like 30 minutes!

We've stayed in Emerald Island, Windsor Palms, Indian Ridge...all are less than 5 minutes from Animal Kingdom and the furthest away - Magic Kingdom - is about 8 minutes.

But learn to use the back way - if you take 192 it takes longer.

begs the question- what's the back way?

Sherberth Rd will take you to Animal Kingdom without using World Dr. You can get to the rest of the parks also. It's particularly good when leaving Disney. You just follow the directions for the Animal Kingdom area then as you get closer, AK Lodge. Keep to the left after you go by AK and when you get to the lights, take a left onto Sherberth and follow it back to your resort/house.

It's marked on this map: red line #1 if from Windsor Hills and the other two lines start in the Formosa Gardens area and then follow the red line.
