closest amtrak station

We will be arriving by train and I was wondering if Kissimee or Orlando station was the closest to WDW?

Also, once we arrive, what is the best way to get there? Do we catch a taxi or can we book some other means of transport? There will be six of us.

I don't know whether Kissimmee or Orlando is closer. I have taken the train into Kissimmee. It was much less crowded than Orlando.

If you have 6 people, definitely book a limo with a car service (The FL tours ad is at the top of this page, you can get a rate quote from them). 6 people will not fit in one taxi and most likely will be more costly than a limo. Additionally, you don't want to be standing there after a long train ride, only to find there are no taxis waiting.

Coach America runs a shuttle from the Orlando Station but you have to book the shuttle when you buy your tickets on Amtrak's 800 phone number. You can't book the shuttle online.

The Kissimmee station is closer, and the trip to WDW is much less of a traffic hassle.

You can grab a cab or arrange for a towncar to pick you up.

The last time I checked with them, FL Tours did not pick up in Kissimmee, so you'd have to go with another service.

Kissimmee is indeed closer to WDW. Both have taxi's which meet the train and both have Lynx bus service (the Lynx stop at Orlando is right at the stations front door). The Coach USA shuttle operates from Orlando, and Hertz has rental cars from there as well. The various towncar services could take you to either station, though again, the Kissimme station won't be nearly as busy as Orlando. The one downside to using Kissimmee is the overly long Orlando station stop, time which could be spent getting to WDW.

If you use Lynx, a rental car, or Coach USA, board at Orlando. If you go with a taxi or towncar, I'd suggest Kissimmee.

we usually get off in Orl. to. i think a couple of trips we took a taxi, cause they were ALL waiting. then about 2 summers ago there were only a few taxies, when i went to talk to one, the guy from COACH says to the taxi "Move away we have first prio. to the disney hotels." really, i could not believe it. so we have taken Coach 2 - 3 times. THe only thing last summer, the ride to the hotel it turned out that the GUY CHARGED us WAY to much. i told my husband something was up to, so on the return trip we called the # and we got another driver. his price was about what we paid the summer before ( alittle more ) and he told us the other GUY over charged. oh well. but i have been wanting to go into KIS. for the train, but my dd says "lets get off in Orl. so we can just GET OFF THIS TRAIN" lol.
