Got the email from TTS that we closed Oct.25th. Now we wait for Disney to send us our number. Email said 14-28 days. Some said on here that it takes about 2 weeks. What were your experiences? Should I call the DVC number and ask for the status frequently?
 
It depends if this is your first contract or if you already have a DVC account. 14 days is about right if you already have a DVC account but if you hadn't I think best count on three weeks.

I wouldn't bother phoning DVC they no longer give anything out by phone best just to watch for mail.
 
Took me 17 days. But I called DVC. They wouldn't give me my member number on the phone but they told me who my guide was. Called him and he gave it to me. Got the letter the next day.
 
We were notified on the 16th that we were all set and the info would be coming in the mail - nothing yet. I am anxious to get the paperwork so we can make our reservation for next Aug. I have never been this late making our vacation reservations - hope we will have no problem getting a 2 bedroom at the BW. We are still well ahead of the 7 month window for all other home resorts to make their reservations at the BW so hopefully we will get what we want. Can't wait to be official - even though we are now I just need to have the paperwork in hand. Closing in Jan. on another contract for the BW so I will be glad when that is done also.
 

Don't call at all. Literally the only time I've ever heard of MS being plain rude to someone, was when they were trying to call to get their membership set up before they got the mailed information.

Remember that you're going to have this membership for 30-50 years.

If you get to 28 days from closing and still haven't heard, then sure, call. But don't start your membership with a bad taste in your mouth from MS people who won't give you the time of day until you have the setup letter in hand...
 
I have not received email or snail mail, but when I log into my dvcmember.com, it shows up. We have previous contract, so they just added this membership to it. That was 17 days from closing, but I had not checked for a few days, so I don't know when it posted.
I did call member services starting day 12. MS was wonderful and looked up but not in system yet. Member administration had one great cm and one who said it was not allowed to give out. I told her someone had looked it up before and that MS had looked up but not in their system yet so transferred me to her so she could help. She again said they could not. It was close to closing time so maybe she did not want to bother.

We closed on 10/15 but we didnt see our membership letter until 11/2! However, we were new to DVC so I imagine existing members might get their info sooner.
 
misskari - you have given me hope that our letter will be in the mail tomorrow or early this week. We closed a day after you and as of the mail yesterday we haven't heard anything. Hopefully this week. I just want to be able to book our trip for next Aug. We will be going through this again in Jan since we are closing on another contract after the 5th of Jan. Won't be as anxious with that one since we will already have our big trip planned.
