(CLOSED) The Smoking DSA's @ Resorts Info Thread

I was there durring the RAIN !! Ther was NO WAY you could stay in the DSAs as the had no cover , Everyonewas smoking as close to them as they could with shelter and no one complained !! The common complaint in the Parks is the lack of signs for them !! I had to ask almost everytime where the closest was !!The maps are not accurate , as they give a general area and it is usually hidden away!!

Actually, if you do run out gardengrocery will deliver a carton or 2. It's still less with the delivery charge then buying them at the gift shop.

AKL - Are you still allowed to smoke at the tables by the pool bar?? We were able to last year but just checking for this year - seems to have been a lot of changes

I did a search and looked back as far as pg. 60 and couldn't find an answer to my question.
We are staying at Boardwalk Inn and our party has 3 smokers. If one of them should run out of cigarettes is there anywhere on property to buy them? Thanks!

Probably cheaper (not cheap but cheaper) to run over to the Hess Station. It is walkable from BWI/BWV. I've seen people walking back with cases of water/beer/soda so it can't be too bad to walk there.

Also there is a Hess Station across the street from DTD if you take a bus to DTD you can just walk across the street.

New DSA's - at least to us at AKL/AKV Jambo - thought I would post since the maps for the AKL have outdated DSA's.

There are now only 2 DSA's @ AKL

The benches on the way to the bus stop have been moved a little farther down and off to the right so it is not in the main walkway - this to me was a good move since no one that doesn't smoke doesn't have to walk right by you.

The other DSA is by the Hot Tub area located behind the slide.

The DSA by the pool bar is no longer there.

The DSA on the walkway outside of Boma's is no longer there.

Haven't been over to Kidani yet so don't know about those for sure.

Just back from Kidani. There are only 2 official DSA's at Kidani. If you have a map of Kidani to look at that may help, anyhow, there is 1 DSA near the entrance to the parking garage (there is only 1 entrance on the side of Kidani closest to Jambo) and the other is near the fitness center and is pretty nice. When entering the pool area from the lobby you have to walk through the hallway that leads to the fitness center and the DSA is just past the fitness center. Unofficial DSA's are near each elevator. I asked several employee's and was told that these areas are fine. Each elevator goes down to the parking garage which is an open air garage and I guess that is why this is acceptable. Our room was right by the Rafiki elevator and so this is where I smoked and was greated while in the area by many employees including security guards and was never told anything other than hello. Hope this helps, feel free to aks any questions.

You can walk across the street to the Hess Station where they are much cheaper.

Are the THV's closer together than the FW Homes? Just wondering why no smoking on the deck at THV when it is permitted at FW Homes. I was actually going to look into the cost of THVs for the next time we visit with another couple because of the deck and smoking. I know there are 60 of them so I don't know if it will be hard for non-DVC members to get a ressie at one.

Where are the grills located? At the FW Homes, the grills are on the deck which is where one usually expects to find a grill - right outside their kitchen.

I know about FW smoking on the decks & I stated the same thing to member services but she had me on hold forever while doublechecking and came back to confirm again that its only by the grill which is located at the bottom of the stairs. It seems silly to me too but that's what they said.

Hi there. We are due to stay at the Polynesian in October.
Does anybody know if the maps are up to date of the smoking areas ?.
I am hoping that maybe someone who has stayed recently knows where the DSA's are now.
