We are so excited! Closed on our resale thru TTS Aug 17 and just made our 1st ressie for Dec 11- 14 in a 1 bedroom standard view at BWV! I can't believe we were able to get the room that we wanted booking this late for DEC, and only 3 days after closing. Would have loved a Boardwalk view, but all that was left was pool or garden, so we just went with the standard view. Some of you may remember how nervous we were as we made our offer just as Disney was exercising ROFR.

WOW! Congratulations! Can't believe you were able to get a standard view so close to arrival - those usually book up at the 11 month window and have waiting lists afterwards. You must have caught a cancellation!

Delighted to hear that your resale "journey" has worked out so well for you. Welcome home!

Do you think it would be worthwhile to waitlist for a Boardwalk view? My mother may be coming with us and probably won't do much of the parks except Epcot and Candlelight Processional, so she would enjoy "people" watching from the balcony.
Thanks for all the Welcome Homes!

It never hurts - but you most likely will want to waitlist for the entire stay. It will decrease your chances of getting the BW view, but waitlisting that way will eliminate the possiblity that you would have to move back and forth between rooms.

FWIW, the standard view rooms overlook the front entrance of the BWV/BWI resort. There's usually quite a bit of activity/people watching opportunities on those balconies, too. If you want a chance of catching the higher level fireworks (from IllumiNations), ask for an upper floor across from the bus stop.

Best wishes -

I'm so happy for you, I can almost feel your excitement! I just sent the closing paperwork back to TCS today for our first purchase and can't wait to get in the Disney system to make reservations for the end of Sept! I hope we have your luck as well!:hyper:

AFMom,
Just an FYI, we never recieved a call from TSC about our closing. It had been 10 days since we sent in our closing papers so I decided to call the closing co. and see if there was any news (this was on Fri the 20th) I was told we had closed on the 17th and we should be able to make our ressies around Sept 1. Having read about others being able to make ressies almost immed, usually those who bought directly thru Disney, I called MS and we were in the system!
