So many things have been posted in the last few hours it seems! I didn't quote any of them but they were all so cute!

Jayden has grown so much! She must be a foot taller then October! Lily is darling. I noticed right away her little scratch! I love Pooh fabric but keep thinking I need no more, now I want a little of this one too! (or is it a sheet).

michelea - adorable dresses! I love the Nemo one best too!

Shannon! Super cute! I too only have Vday fabric from last year, but I don't even like what I have.

Tom, wow! Can't wait to see more! I love using sheets for fabric! I think i got probably 8 sets in the basement!

Piper! Hayden is going to love the outfit! I think he better love orange since he'll be getting a ton of it!

That Pooh quilt is amazing! Some day I'll actually finish my quilt!

See, I knew I shouldn't have started naming names! I know there was more that I am forgetting! Such fun to come back this evening to so many pictures and posts!

Prayers being said for your father!

So I just caught up on everyone's posts, phew! Wow, everything is so beautiful. So I ordered my ruffler yesterday and then spent a ton more on fabrics I couldn't resist. I swear its an addiction.

DD2 loves the Little Mermaid so I started cutting out a dress from some LM fabric I bought awhile ago using an Indygo Junction pattern. As I was cutting I started to feel pretty sick and before I knew it was running a fever and feeling fluish. I have been in bed for last 32 hours. Getting sick is one thing but I'm due with our 4th baby on Wednesday. I cannot imagine going into labor with the flu. Now, DS and DH are starting to cough and feel lousy. Perfect timing!

Thanks for everyone's continued inspirations, Jen

Wow! you have all been busy today. I had a lzy day, although I did go to work for a few hours.

The diaper bag came out great! I hate McCalls patterns. I lean towards simplicity if I buy a regular pattern.

The dress is neat! Love the lettuce edge on the bottom.

Here is Lily's Pooh dress I made a few days ago. I'm not so sure I love the pants. They need a pink ruffle to coordinate with the top/dress. Maybe it will be sooooo warm in Florida she will need shorts under instead. :thumbsup2 I CASEd this a bit from something I saw on here 100 years ago. And yes, she does have a big scratch under her right eye. She was lying on my bedroom floor yesterday when Luke tripped on her head :confused3

I remember the originial too. I have the sheet to make a similar dress. Yours came out really cute! What did you use for the Bodice..the front and back. Was it apillow?

Here is the outfit for Hayden (Tiny Treasures Big Give) that I made this afternoon. He loves orange and the cars material was all I could find that coordinated with the shirt!

Just the Easy Fit pants with the orange shirt. Simple rectangular applique on the shirt.

The pants are cool! I really need those easy fit pants pattern.

I think I'm gonna start another - maybe for Easter. I'm going tomorrow to get Wall-E fabric for my big give outfit, so I'm hoping to get that done.

That is so pretty. I want to make an easter dress...just don't know how to sneak the fabric home.

I finally have some pictures of the outfits I have been working on for the last week. We are headed to WDW in March. I only got my model to put on one of the dresses for me. Here goes:

The first one I made is for a day at Epcot:

The next three are for days at MK.

I still have to make a t-shirt to match the skirt. Of course she wants a dress like the others with tinkerbell but I ran out of fabric and couldn't find any more of the purple. I have a couple more things to make for her and then a bunch of mickey head shirts and possibly some shorts for the boys.

They all came out great. And you model is adorable!

Here is Jayden's latest outfit. She LOVES all things Pooh bear, especially Tigger. The Tigger on the shirt was an ebay iron-on embroidered patch. The kind you can hardly find anymore.

Thanks to Denise/mytwotinks for the design inspiration on the skirt! :thumbsup2

That is a cute outfit! I love the skirt...and the shirt!

I've got lots of pages to go back & catch up on, but was so excited that I finished this dress this evening that I had to share! This is my 2nd dress, so I'm still getting the hang of things, but am pretty happy with how it turned out - here is Maddie's Valentine's Day dress:

th_January030.jpg

th_January031-1.jpg

I could have made it smaller, but this way it'll fit for a long time, I guess. ;) Since I'm new to all of this, all of the gathering took me longer than any other part of this dress. Does anyone have any tips for quick & easy gathering? Or will I just get better at it with time?

Off to catch up! :)

It is very pretty! I don't have time for a valentines dress.

Gathering...I sometimes use a thick thread and zig zag over the thread, then pull it to gather. Very easy.

So cute!!!! I don't enjoy gathering. Many here swear by their ruffling foot for their sewing machines but those things look kind of scary to me. I need to get brave. I used to be afraid of bias binding but I overcame that fear.:rotfl:

I was going through some pictures of our October trip to Disneyland when my youngest saw this.....

DSC02268.jpg

This is what she wants to be for Halloween. Now I realize it is January. My girls have been trained to get their requests into Auntie early. She needs time to ponder the costume, google pictures, and find washable fabric.

Anyway this year Auntie has her oldest daughters wedding in July, of course she is sewing.

There is no way that I want to call her and tell her that this is the requested costume this year. I know she will be on here at some point.

I do not sew, but to me it looks like you have to basically make 2 dresses.

So now you all that do sew need to post how easy this would be to make. :lmao:

So many beautiful things posted!! I really need to try that Simply Sweet pattern.
My best friend's daughter had a baby girl just a few hours ago and I'm so excited but they haven't made all the calls yet and I can't tell anyone!! So, I'm telling my Dis'er friends - baby Danya was born today!!! She lives in Ontario so I won't get to meet her until the summer but I'm just so thrilled for her and her husband. And I get to tease my friend that she's a Granny! All in all, a great day!!

I have to go back to page 42 to catch up. You folks have been busy chatting today!!!
But wanted to type first. I just dont have anyone else I am ready to share this with you all of you are so supportive. Im not sure which way is up. Today has been a bit of a rough day.
The adoption event had it's cons, but thats minor. When I got home DH told me my Mom called and I should call her back. My Mom is a jabber-mouth- for her to call and just ask to be called back is unheard of, so I looked and DH and said 'Tell me whats going on" he said "just call her" me- "Not until you tell me at least something" Long story short I called.
My Dad, as some of you may recall has been fighting prostate cancer for the past 7 years. He has been complaining of back pain for the last 2 months, felt it was the cause of a skiing accident early this season. He was told last week he had a compression fracture- well I guess the fracture- they are calling them "breaks" now and there are at least 4. In the process of getting info on this they realized this is being caused by one of 3 things. They are most leaning towards his cancer matastisizing and a tumor has put pressure on his spine and caused the fractures. The alternative is lymphoma or lukemia. So he should hopefully know tomorrow if he is looking at surgery and radiation (in addition to the hormone treatments he hates) or treating the lukemia/lymphoma by some other means- Im not sure.
He's in a lot of pain right now and my Mom says he's not talking much. The meds he's on make him spacey, or the pain keeps him from talking.
I know the hormone treatments have left him incontinent and give him severe shakes, and fatigue and such.

I know we are sewing board. Im just so upset right now and knew you all would understand.

:grouphug: and prayers for you and your family!!

Not so difficult, and no, I don't have to make two dresses...silly you.
One dress - 1/2 one color, 1/2 the other color. I still think we should just tie-dye the one I'm making for the wedding. Then it will be both pink and blue, splotchy, like when the fairies are arguing over the color.
Will white and ivory brocade tie-dye?

HELP!!!!!!!!!

What can you do if you lose your elastic inside the casing short of taking the casing out, getting the elastic and doing it all over again??

I can't believe I did that! And here I was happy I didn't have to take can seams out today.

Guess What!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
No Temp since 7pm tonight!:cool1:
I think he is finally over it, now I'm praying no one else gets it!

Yay!! :thumbsup2

Ok totally not clothing but I made some progress this weekend. I wanted to make a baby quilt for a couple at our church having their first. They are really young and have only been married for a year or so so they're still just starting out. I think they're 22 or so...anyway, I got to start it Friday, got it finished yesterday:
poohquilt1.jpg

I'm gonna have to make some of those skirts for my DD. She hates wearing pants. Maybe once I clear out a couple of projects in my sewing room my DH won't cringe if he sees me start something new.

I LOVE the Pooh quilt! Great job & wow that you got it done in one day! I'm sure the new parents to be will love it! :)

I can't agree more about CarlaC's patterns. I use them all the time!
I don't think I have picked up a commercial pattern in a couple of years now, except for the Farbenmix ones.
Speaking of Carla's patterns. I just finished this Simply Sweet dress for our trip. Four down, a couple of more to go!
I also used the quilting block tutorial on YCMT's blog to add the hem detail.
Disneyoutfits2009002-2.jpg

No model today, she is too busy playing with her Mickey Mouse Clubhouse stuff to give me any free time!:rotfl:

How Cute! :goodvibes Love the fabric & the quilting blocks on the bottom, such a clever idea! :thumbsup2

Then when I finally finished today I wanted to do something fun. I get so irritated that they don't have any cute girly sports team stuff so I took a 2xl t-shirt and cut it down to make a little dress. I think next time I will put elastic in th sleeves to be even girlier. Megan was excited about it until DH made her put on a long sleeved shirt underneath because they are going to out to watch the Steelers game.

Sorry to hear the diaper bag gave you so much trouble - I love the idea of turning a big t-shirt into a dress. So cute! :thumbsup2

Hi all! :wave2: Just dropping in real quick to say hi and WOW at all the beautiful stuff you guys have been working on.

I have spent my weekend like so many of us have been lately...nursing a sick little one.

Patrick had a fever up to 103 last night...I had a time getting it down. It took several hours of cool wash cloths, baths, and motrin. He finally felt a little better by bed time. Am I the only one that has a hard time sleeping when they have a fever? I will get out of bed every 30 minutes to go feel how hot they are. I usually just let them sleep with me, but he would have nothing of it.

He is much better today thank goodness!

I haven't done much sewing because I'm helping Katie with hers. She is doing great!

Take care all! I'll check in more later in the week!:)

Hope he's feeling better soon!

We are now over the temp!!!! :cool1: Attikus had a good night, we stayed home today. I like to wait 24hrs after no temp to make sure. He was smiling and laughing tonight. We even had family movie night and he thought he would join in. That made a crowded bed!:crowded: I think he ate half a bowl of cheerios. He won't eat baby food, but have discovered he will eat people food.:confused3 Thank you all for the prayers, it's so nice to have my happy little boy back!:goodvibes

We tea dyed some at Halloween and it did take the color. It did have to sit in the mixture for longer than the other items we were dyeing.

I love that idea. I've alwasy thought something like that would be adorable. Actually as a little girl that is what I wanted.

That turn out really cute. How about putting some pink rick-rac where the ruffle joins onto the pants. That would give a touch of pink to tie into the top without having to take the pants apart.

Thanks, I think I will! I don't know why I didn't think of that!

Can anyone tell me where they are finding the Mickey Mouse buttons. I thought they were from the scrapbooking department but I have been unable to find any. TIA

I got the white ones on Lily's Valentine's dress on etsy.

Cute!! I love it. That is the kinds of outfits I need to start making for Jenna. It's a little bit more grownup.
Too cute!! I love that smile that your little girl has. I too like to make things a little bigger for Jenna. That way she can wear them more than once.

So I just caught up on everyone's posts, phew! Wow, everything is so beautiful. So I ordered my ruffler yesterday and then spent a ton more on fabrics I couldn't resist. I swear its an addiction.

I have found that gathering can be relaxing. :rotfl2: I do it the old fashioned way and it does get easier with time.

That is adorable and looks just like Drizella!!! Well, not the model, she is so cute!

I missed a few of my quotes??? Sigh, I am so computer challenged sometimes!! I am so happy to hear that Attikus is doing so much better!!! If I missed anyone, I am so sorry, everything today looks great.

We spent the afternoon/evening at Disneyland. So it was SIL's birthday today and since we have AP's, he got a gift card for $60.00!!! The only catch is he had to use it today! My DH and I left him still shopping trying to spend that money. I saw lots of things that I will use with MY $60 gift card!!!
