Hi - yes it is for the camp for kids and adults with special needs in MT!! you remembered!!!! Thanks for that!!

Yes, I have to admit, I LOVE TOYS!! Can you believe we dont even have any kids!!!!!!!!! Some of my favorites that I usually keep at work but we've had kids over alot lately - they are the Fisher Price Snap and Style Dolls, and the other is called Motor Blocks - the kids cant get enough of them - they build really cool airplanes, choo choo's , race cars etc!!!

And just because she has been my puppy fuzz for 10 years now and turned 11 years old today (just a guess = we got her at the SPCA) here is Zoey enjoying her birthday cupcake!!!

th_100_0608.jpg

Zoey is so cute! And I love your Eeyore jammies! I have some too!

That is SOOO cute, Jeanne!!! I love it!
I showed Tessa the picture and told her the names of Lily's dolls. She thought that was the greatest thing ever!

Wow, these kids have some posh strollers! Tessa just has a little umbrella one.
However, I heard that you made a comment that Lily and Leighanna will be the best dressed kids at the dismeet. To that, I think I will just reply:
:snooty:

1) Thanks
2) sometimes your child is on her 3rd dolly stroller because she keeps sitting in them and breaking them, so you have to get the sturdiest one you can find! It was just like a "big" stroller--even the assembly part. :rotfl:
3) Tom did NOT say best dressed kids at the dismeet! He said at Dineyworld and he meant after Megan, Tessa, Little, Morgan, and everyone else (including the boys) have gone home and it is just Leighanna and the jham kids there!!!:snooty:

Tom said that?:p

Going back to finish skimming pages.[/QUOTE]

see above :snooty:

In between doing report cards, lesson plans, and a weekly report to parents on each of my kiddos--I made a skirt and blouse for Giuliana to wear for the Hoe Down our school will have on Feb. 13th (I know, what were they thinking....an event on Friday the 13th!;) )

Anyway, I used 11 different Giddy-up kids prints that a friend of mine had used to make a quilt for her grandson. (She actually used 15 different materials, but I thought that was just a little too much :lmao: )

Here it is:

I did something different and attached a petti to it where the first row of squares join the waist band. For square dancing, you want lots of fluff!

I wish she had had fewer materials and more of each one....but she sold me the squares for $5.00 (and it was worth that to not have to cut it out!...plus she had almost a 1/2 yard of the stripe that I used for the waist, ruffle and applique that she "just threw in."

Very cute!

:scared1:

I may dress Morgan in "store bought" clothes :rotfl:

Ooooh she would HATE that LOL.

Well no worries for me, I may not be able to make the ESPN club.

Hi all

And the 2nd thing I need Big Give help!

I went to 4 stores today and can not find a short sleeved 2T tshirt to make the family shirts for the Macintosh Big Give. Does anyone have any suggestions? Apparently in MA, we arent' ready yet for short-sleeves so nobody is carrying them. None of the craft stores, WalMart or Target had them. Any other thoughts????

Fantastic find at Joann's with the fabric! I wish ours would get some cotton Disney fabric in. All we have is flannel and fleece Disney (and I live in Dallas so it's not really needed). And I love the polka dots but our Joann's never has the pink polka dot in and I really want it. I swear if I ever see it I'll buy the whole bolt!

If you still need the t-shirt for the big give please let me know and I'm sure I can find one here, all of our spring stuff is out everywhere.

Very cute skirt! I love all of the different fabrics! And how lucky that it was already cut, that is half the battle!

Two outfits a day seems normal to me! Actually, even if my kids were to wear regular street clothes and not customs :scared1: while we were in Disney I would still probably pack two outfits for each day. They always seem to get messy, wet, etc. and need a change.

Wendy

As far as the baby goes, my Lilly is 6 months and I am making her a six month dress for Valentine's day using that pattern. But she is tiny (weird for me since my older two are giants). If your niece is closer to 8-9 months and you want her to wear it for more than a month I would make it the next size up (the 12 month, 1 year size) and adjust the length as needed. And thinking of how they are shaped, I would say that their waist and chest are usually pretty close to being the same size at this age. Good luck, I don't know if this was much help!

Thanks so much - Im still not sure wether to a 1/2 or a size 1.....what would you do???

Piper - that outfit is so cute!! Could you please expain more about what you did with the "petti attached to the 2nd row" please???? I'd love to learn more!!!

Im working on a 3 tier Carla flouncy skirt/rumba thing - I have every thing cut and prepped, but now I am stuck. The yoke is done,,,,now I am at the part where I attach the 1st layer to the yoke, and then one of the single layer strips????? HEEEELLLLLLPPPPP!!!!!!!!!!!!

Then, Im going to make a simply sweet top to go with it - I cut out the waist length bodice,,,,,the ruffled straps,,,,now is there a 3rd part "skirt" for the ruffle that you put on the bottom? I just want it shirt length (you know, go a little past the top of the skirt)....any suggestions would be AWESOME!!!

Thanks!!!

My baby boy is sick! His temp is 103.5, he keeps moaning, it's so sad!
If he still has fever in 4-5 days make sure your doctor checks him for Kawasaki disease...my son had it just before he turned one and could have had serious heart damage from it but thankfully it was caught early...praying that all will be well soon. KD kids get a fever and act sick, have a mild rash and sometimes get red eyes and red lips. Watch for those signs and if he gets anything like that please bring him to see his doc asap.

I'm truly amazed by what has been made and wondered if the feliz and vida are real difficult for a relatively novice sewer? I've only really made one dress and that was over a year ago! Time for me to really put that brother machine to use. I still haven't embroidered yet with it. And where do you get your patterns from?

Guess What!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

No Temp since 7pm tonight!:cool1: :cheer2: :cool1: :cheer2:
I think he is finally over it, now I'm praying no one else gets it!

The Vida is easy. I love making it. It goes together so fast and I don't even need to read the directions now.:rotfl2:

I hope he doens't have what my little man just went through. I'll be praying that it's short lived.

I say this is a great time to go simply because I'll be there!!! :woohoo:
We will have to meet up for lunch or something.:cool1: I will get to meet a Disboutiquer. :cool1:

Fabrichound.com has them. There is also a Yahoo! group that you can buy them through. That's where I got mine and my Feliz.

Very cute! I am going to attempt a patchwork skirt soon. I wish my pieces were pre-cut! Someone told me once that there is a trick. I hope I can figure

Yay! I'm so glad he is feeling better. :cool1:

Hi EVeryone,

YAY FOR MEGAN!!!!! Im so happy your handwriting has improved so much!!! I'd love to see how good it is now! Does it seem easier for you to do? Im very proud of you!!!:thumbsup2 :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2

Im sure all the kids will look GREAT at the Dismeet!! Wish i could come too!!!! YOu are going to have a BLAST!!

Glad Attikus is a bit better today - hopefully you are on the down side of the virus now - will be praying your princesses dont catch it (or you!!).

We cleared $600 at the breakfast this morning:cool1: ! Which is a GREAT start!! DH wore his hat and apron, and now one of our other friends (who actually caters) asked me "Wheres Mine?" sooooo, I need to find either some cat fabric, or some eagle fabric (has anyone ever seen any?) to make a set for Elliott..!!!

Okay - situation that I need help with...okay -one of the people who came 2 years ago as a nurse with us came this morning to help saying she wants to come back this year. Now, 2 years ago (and 3 years ago) she brought her then 16 year old daughter with her. Now I always am looking at the best in people, especially when they are helping others, and I fought for this teen to come again the 2nd year they came (but she blew it on me)...but, unfortunately, she really has some issues of defiance, disobedience, stirring the pot, creating issues, drama queen, not following directions (and leading others, including my Rebekah, to not follow directions as well). She would do stupid things like wear a bikini under her swim suit (in defiance of the rules - but seriously, she looked really stupid), not show up on time for duties, disobey her work crew leader (even made the leader cry - she was an older teen)....things got so bad at one point that the camp director had to speak to her (we were so embarassed that it got that far) and in general they asked that she not come back....so, her mom says to me today that she wants her teen to come (now 18) to babysit her 2 year old for her while she is on nurse duties.....GUYS, What would you do??????????????????????????????????????????????????????????:confused3 I am all about giving chances, but this is a situation that could ruin the 2 weeks of came (yes, it was that bad)......please help me think this all through, Im bound to see them in church tomorrow.....:scared:
In this situation you have to be honest and tell her no. You have to think of the other kids and it isn't fair to them you know?
Yes, we should get together (as soon as I get caught up from Christmas/Disney/being sick.)

Sorry to hear about the embroidery machine. :( I'd be upset about that too.
Let me know when things slow up and we can try to plan something!
Since I wrote that post you quoted DH came through an dI now have my embroidery machine and the 62 pack of thread!!!!!!!

We will be in Flrorida from May 5-16. A bit shorter than my origianal plan, we were planning on going from the 2-16th. But Brian started his yearly "I'm not going to Florida this year" rant and he was happy with the 5th and Corey won't have to make up as much school this way. I hope we can meet up somewhere when we are both there! We probably are only going to the parks for a few days this year. I'm really trying to save money this year, so we will use the park passes we already have. I have no idea how many days are on them though! I sure wish there was a way to tell how many days were on those things BEFORE we got there! That is so frustrating!

MArlo, it looks fantastic!! Great twirl!!! What didn't you like about the top? I think it looks perfect!
I am glad some one posted the number for you! I hope you have more days then you realized on your passes! When I called the number they couldn't guarantee that I had days left but they said it looks like I had one. Then when I got to the park I did have a day left so my cousin got in with it:cheer2:

I think I have issues with the sleeves. I didn't have elastic thread so I had to make a casing for it and it just isn't what I hoped. It could also be that I had one vision of the top ten couldn't find when i needed so I made this. Now i LOVE the style on a few little ones I have seen on here but mine just isn't right....Nik loves it so I guess that is all that matters.
Hi all

Okay first and foremost...I went nuts at JoAnn's today. The poor woman looked at me and said "please tell me that you are just adding to your stash and not actually MAKING something with all these!"

Great finds! I just got a few of those on sale too! I bought the POTC, the blue Tink and a few others:upsidedow

So DH and I decided to do some pricing and we found out that with the 40% discount that Disney emailed me we will be able to afford a trip to WDW. We are thinking about going the week of Oct. 25-31. That means that we would get to see WDW at Halloween. I think that we are going to keep this one a secret from Jenna until we absolutely have to tell her.
Cool but I think you need to stay at least an extra day because I arrive Nov 1st!!!!! though I may end up there with just the kids a few days early or I might stay a few days extra with the kids. I haven't decided.

Oh I can't wait to see that Rumba skirt! I want to make one for Nik! I have 2 materials in mind for 2 more of those skirts. I am just not sure which one will be the that one...

Guess What!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

No Temp since 7pm tonight!:cool1: :cheer2: :cool1: :cheer2:

Awesome...now I need my DS's fever to go down...his just started about 19 hrs ago though so we may have a ways to go.....and thanks I think I'll look into making a VIDA - just need to figure out where to get the pattern....
I hope your little one feels better.

This is awesome!! I love the colors. How fun for a hoe down!! And I am always up for a good twirl. what did you do for the shirt?? I was trying to make it out but I think I have killed my vision by hanging on here so much:eek:

The shirt is just a long sleeve T with a star appliqued on the front....nothing fancy. With so much going on in the skirt, I thought simple was best for the top. The petti that I attached to the skirt is white, so the shirt is white!

I am glad Attikus is better. It is so difficult when they can't tell you what is wrong.

Ok totally not clothing but I made some progress this weekend. I wanted to make a baby quilt for a couple at our church having their first. They are really young and have only been married for a year or so so they're still just starting out. I think they're 22 or so...anyway, I got to start it Friday, got it finished yesterday:
poohquilt1.jpg

I'm gonna have to make some of those skirts for my DD. She hates wearing pants. Maybe once I clear out a couple of projects in my sewing room my DH won't cringe if he sees me start something new.

OOPS! I meant to say that All of the dismeet kids will be the best dressed at Disney World! :flower3:
It's just that seeing that too cute outfit that Jeanne posted temporarily made me lose my mind! :goodvibes
Okay, you are forgiven! ;)

I saw where someone mentioned the mock smock Disney dresses & thought that would be a good starting place for me. So....are there any tips for me? Do I need to sew it a little smaller than their chest measurements to make sure it's snug enough to stay up? I would appreciate any help!!!!:scared:
I don't know how to help you with the mock smock Disney dresses because I'm not sure what they are. Could you show us a picture, or give us more info so we can help you out?

Has anyone used a fabric glue? Say, if a hypothetical seam had an 'issue' you wanted to cover up with ribbon?
I've used the E6000 on one of Tessa's dresses and it works GREAT!

Quick HELP!!

Im making a simply sweet for a baby - 6-8 mos old...her mom didnt give me her chest measurement - her waist is 17", 8" inseam,,,,,what size should i do? 1/2? 1? is the chest usually a little larger than the waist????? THANKS!!!
I would go with her waist measurement. Most babies have chests and waists that are close to the same size. Actually, their chests can be smaller than their waists. So, if you go with her waist measurement (as her chest measurement) and pick a size that way, it should be fine.

eyoreforever.......I will trade you my foster for yours!!!! I have a wild child beagle/doxi mix. She is pure torture to my guys! non-stop on the go! Love her to death, but thank god she is hopefully going to be adopted this weekend!
I just love labbies! I used to raise, train and show them when i was younger. They are such lovable goofs who truly grace each family.
Yikes! That dog sounds like a handful! When she goes, would you like a pure-bred beagle?? My brother desperately needs to get rid of his beagle. That dog is awful!!!!

STunning, simply stunning!!! I just got the Feliz the other day, I'm so excited!!!

I loved our Dolly Pops!!! I still remember the day Mom and Dad bought them for us! I was so excited!
I can't wait to see what you make with that pattern. Neither can Leslie! :rotfl:

"Our" Dolly Pops, huh? Well, let's chalk that up to one more childhood toy I thought was mine, but wasn't. :lmao:

There is!!!! There is a phone number you can call and give them some info and they can tell you. I will see if I can find the number.

From the ticket Stikee-
F. How can I Check on What Remains on Old Tickets?

Any Ticket Window or Guest Services Location can read your old tickets and tell what the remaining entitlements are. Also, if the ticket has become demagnetized they can issue replacements. The Resort Lobby Concierges may not be able to read all tickets.

See Post #13 in this thread for how to determine the serial number of the ticket(s)

There is a special phone number, 407-566-4985 which you can all. Press "Option 2" when prompted. The CM on duty will be able to assist you. This line is only available weekdays during normal business hours.
Cool! Thanks for the info, Cindee!

I miss Peter Pan Peanut Butter. I had a HUGE crush on Peter Pan as a kid, and I used to sleep with our jar of Peter Pan Peanut Butter. So sad it's being recalled. We had a beautiful thing.
:rotfl: That is so funny!!

Hello. Still mostly a lurker but I have finished 2.5 outfits for our trip in March. One still needs a top to go with the skirt that is why it is half done. I will post pictures as soon as I get my model in her new clothes. Anyway, my question involves non-sewn applique. I used the ultra bond or whatever it is called to put the applique on the dress. Do I still need to treat the edges or will it make it in the wash? Can I use something like fray check or does it have to be fabric paint? Any help would be much appreciated!

Thanks,
Robyn
I've heard (and experienced) that the ultra heat-n-bond doesn't go through the wash very well.

I wish we were going to be there! Can you imagine all of the comments there will be when they see all of these kiddos in their customs? You'll all be lucky if you can walk through the park without being stopped!
I wish you could come, too! I wish you all could!

I remember when Sawyer was sick, he had a fever for a really long time and when Heather took him in he ended up having an ear infection. So if it continues for longer than a week, I would take him in anyway. You never know!

OT: Penney's is having a great big sale. I got a sweater dress and HSM long sleeved t-shirt, each for a $1.70!
I have to defend my parenting and say that he must not have had an ear infection for the entire time because it wasn't a very bad one! I think the congestion and everything from the virus he had caused him to get an ear infection. At least, that's what I tell myself to make me feel better about waiting so long to take him in!

Thanks for the heads up on Penney's!! I really, really, really want to go there now! I will have 3 little girls and a little boy today, though. Hmmmm.....maybe I could leave them all with Henry. :cool1:

Peter Pan was recalled last year for the same reason as the Keebler/Austin stuff. I am sure that the recall is over, but the stores around here haven't started carrying it again. They also aren't carrying Austex chilli anymore since their recall.
That's really odd! You'd think after a company goes through a recall, they would be extra careful about contamination. So, I would think those products would be extra safe to carry!

In between doing report cards, lesson plans, and a weekly report to parents on each of my kiddos--I made a skirt and blouse for Giuliana to wear for the Hoe Down our school will have on Feb. 13th (I know, what were they thinking....an event on Friday the 13th!)

2617103830067077547S500x500Q85.jpg
You're right, 11 different fabrics is much more reasonable than 15! ;)

I love the skrit and shirt. That turned out SO cute!

Tessa's father/daughter dance is on the 13th, too. I hadn't thought about it being Friday the 13th!

2) sometimes your child is on her 3rd dolly stroller because she keeps sitting in them and breaking them, so you have to get the sturdiest one you can find! It was just like a "big" stroller--even the assembly part.
We did have a much cooler stroller. But, it was the Pooh one from JCPenney that was recalled last year for high lead content. Now, they are just using a cheapie umbrella. I wanted to buy another cool one, but Henry felt Sawyer didn't need a doll stroller. :snooty:

No Temp since 7pm tonight! I think he is finally over it, now I'm praying no one else gets it!

I'm so glad!!!! That is wonderful news, both for you and Attikus!

Oh my gosh, would you look at my ticker!??? :faint:
