Can I have that email too? I would love to make dd some leggins but she is tiny.

This is really cute. I hope you pass on that email....I didn't even know they had leggings for skinny minnies. Your daughter is adorable.

Oh, I just told Cindee where I got the pattern for the leggings, sorry!

I got it from the Studio Tantrum Laguna pattern. I have yet to make the spiral skirt, but have made three pairs of leggings. You can buy it on-line.

That coat is beautiful! I love everything about it, from the buttons to the pretty flowers!

So cute! I bet the girls got a lot of attention in their matching skirts. I really like the button minnie head (with ribbon bow) too.

Love the coat! Looks like the Corky and Company coats my girls have had. Great job!

Really great stuff everyone! I'm falling behind a bit because I've been sewing :cheer2: I almost made Lily's whole Valentine's dress today. I don't have much left to do but I must say it is turning out to be one of my favorite things I've made! It is far from perfect, and I debated a LOT over fabric choices, but it sort of came out as I envisioned it. We have ADRs for breakfast at Chef Mickey's on Valentine's Day. That was originally the day we were going home, but I added 2 days to our trip :cool1: so it feels like an extra special day now because we'll be at Disneyworld ALL DAY!

I can't wait to see what you did for her. I was bad and bought all new V-Day fabric since I didn't like the first stuff I bought. Now I think I'm doing a Vida instead of a Simply Sweet Boutique dress, but Lilly's will be the boutique dress. I am hoping to get them started this weekend. I am supposed to go and scrapbook tomorrow night and I'm excited to get away for the evening but why is it that when I want to sew I'm signed up for scrapbooking and when I want to scrapbook I'm in the middle of a sewing project?

Good morning all. I am in need of more flannel for my quilting projects and need a bit of help from someone who shops at Joann Fabrics. You see I haven't received my sales flyer that would be for the sale starting 1/18. Did anyone get one and if so could you tell me if any flannel is going on sale? Thanks so much for all your help.
Just fyi joann.com has the sales flyer posted on their site. I usually just read it there instead of worrying about if it came in. It usually doesn't come. :confused3

here is my "baby"
dooney and bourke--medium lucy bag---

BTW (my husband do not know about this purchase:rolleyes1 )

Hi my name is Linnette Miller and I have a purse addiction that I been hiding from my husband and family........
I love dooney and burke!!! That is adorable!!!! I have a pink one that is similar, but I left it in my car one day and it faded! :scared:

CarlaC's Peasant top and dress pattern gets alot of use in my house as does her Simply Sweet dress pattern and her Easy Fit Pants pattern. All of these are on YouCanMakeThis.com.
Okay, I have to ask. What is so great about the easy fit pants? I have several pants patterns, so I am wondering what is the difference. I just spent a good amount on a portobellopixie pants pattern that goes up to like size 12. Just wondering because I was thinkign about getting a bundle from YCMT, but really feel like I don't need pants. Tell me if I need them please?? LOL

That looks great! I love it!
I have a coat cut out for my DD that I want to smock, but I never get around to it. It just is never cold here. I feel silly making coats. It is cold right now, but surely it will be gone by the weekend!

So we went to Disneyland again :yay: :yay: This is beginning to feel like a monthly event but it is getting me going on making the girls' outfits and we are now "disboard spotting". The girls are busy looking for outfits that they have seen on the board. It is so funny. I have some things to share and then I also have a couple of questions.

First....this is so a complete case from photobucket. I forgot who actually created the first one but the idea stuck with me and here is my rendition.

In a Big Give, someone created a super cute :cutie: outfit for Miranda with a sweet Snow White applique and ribbon tshirt. Does anyone remember who that was and where I might find that applique? I would absolutely love to recreate the look for my girls but I don't know where to start. :confused3

Thanks for letting me share!!! ~Barbara Jean
I saw that applique somewhere, and now I can't find it. I think it was on etsy.com I hope I see when someone posts where to get it!
I love the picture of your DD with the statue!! That is great!!!

I got my Vida pattern in today. I was going to go to Hancock to get some fabric, but our hibachi dinner took so long that we missed it. Gosh, I miss 24 hour Wal Marts with fabric!!! :sad2:
I hope Vida doesn't stress me out as much as Feliz!
It looks less confusing. I hope that is the case.

If anyone doesn't mind giving me some input. Do you usually applique on printed fabric? How do you decide if the print is too busy? I always lean toward putting appliques onto something that is rather plain looking. I feel like I am wasting lots of cute fabrics because of this. I am horrible at picking out fabric!! I bought this strawberry fabric and the strawberries are pretty big. I was planning on putting strawberry shortcake on it, but I am worried she will get lost. I figure if I don't use it on the bigger parts of Vida that I won't use much of it and it will have been a waste for me to buy all that fabric!!!
Hope that all makes sense! I'm just frustrated. I need a fabric fairy!

Help!

Is it Carla who made a Elizabethan/Victorian/something like that dress at Halloween?

Auntie Fairygoodmother has another difficult project in the works. My 8 yo niece has to do a school project on a music composer: research, oral report, and DRESS UP like the person. Most little girls chose Hannah Montana :confused3
Sierra will do either Clara Schumann or Maria Anna Mozart (based on her mother's google search)
Simplicity has great patterns...all adult sized...for Civil War, Elizabethan, and Victorian costumes. But I recall seeing one on the boards once for a child and I just don't know how to begin looking.

Help??

Oh please please please tell me where you got your small world fabric? I ADORE it!!!! I'm sure you are very busy, but if you get the chance... ;)
Can't wait to see the V-day outfit. I am still planning Hannah's.

pssssst she is still 7:rolleyes1

You know this you have been in the kitchen cooking at every single one of her Birthday parties. silly Auntie.

But the fact that you are tracking down a Clara Schumann costume for her gives you big bonus points!

They are super easy to make. Up until I bought the pattern I didn't have a pants pattern that was easy to do. I only had a store bought pattern and it never would have held up through all of the pairs of pants, shorts and capris that I have made in the last year. That's why I bought it and I always recommend it to someone who is just starting out.

Carla was the one who made a Victorian dress for Halloween. It was for her Stepdaughter if I'm not mistaken. It was very pretty.

My baby boy is sick! His temp is 103.5, he keeps moaning, it's so sad!

Alright, I was off to buy some easy fit pants and a bowling shirt pattern from YCMT, as people suggested, but I don't quite understand how this works... I'm used to buying the store-bought patterns where you have the big tissue paper that you cut out and fit to fabric. How does that part work with an e-book? The patterns on YCMT are all e-book format, am I right?

I have to alternate between tylenol and motrin every 3 hrs.

He's in my arms right now crying, it's so sad!
That poor baby. I sure hope he gets to feeling better.

You just print out the pattern pieces and tape them together and then cut them out and use them like normal.
