photos from my visit with my parents....

this is the view from their living room window. I grew up in a house made of glass and never have become used to houses with normal sized windows.
So neat to watch the ice fisherman and the snowmobiles

Here's my Dad sitting at the dining room table looking out at the lake and watching the fisherman- I was happy to see he could move to sit at the table- although he can only sit in certain places in the house. Somehow the room looks small to me in the photo. This is so "my dad" its what he's always done for years.

Mom was so eager to help Megan with her bath and do her hair- she did her's before she did her own and didnt want to be in the picture!

Great photos! What a pretty place to grow up! If your dad likes fishing he should check out my cousin Johnny's books. They are comic books kind of about Ben The dog who goes hunting and fishing. Great books. Ok I am partial because some of the stories are about our family! LOL

The dress is FABULOUS!

Tried my first Simply Sweet. First time doing ruffles too. (I only have boys) Anyway, i think it turned out pretty cute. There are some mistakes, but my family can't find them, so I think I am safe. :thumbsup2

That is adorable!! The buttons are really cute.

Darling dress. I really need to try this pattern! Perfect for summer!

Yes, Marueen you need to try it!!! It's really good for anytime though, you can just put a long sleeved shirt under it.

Get ready for too many journal pics

So I decided to make a journal for the Macintosh Big Give. I did not realize how time consuming this would be! Thank goodness they live only 2hrs from me so when I ship it they will get it the next day. I still hve several pages to do nd get in the book.

Tracie, that is just fantastic!!!
I'm going to miss y'all by a few weeks.

Come on, change yours!!

I just got back from the "Wax Museum" at Arminda's school. It was really fun! The kids all dressed as famous African Americans and then you pushed a "button" on their hand and they gave a little speach about the person. (It's African American Parent Involvement Day today). They even had refreshments and coffee! :thumbsup2 Then, I went to Lyddy's class and waited while they ate their snacks and went down again with her class. It was so cute, all Lydia wanted to do was stand by Arminda! Then, when she did look at the other kids, all her little friends kept running up to her to tell her where Arminda was!!!

I even saw Barack Obama!!! He is a little paler and shorter than he looks on TV though! I was really suprised to see Tiger Wood's there, I thought his wife just had a baby!

I have pictures, I'll get them off the camera and upload them soon!

Ok I did it! I actually got around to sewing! WAHOOOOOOIE for me...and Georgia of course. hehe I made her birthday skirt. She loves it. She picked which colors

Here is what I bought yesterday on my fabric day! I used money I made selling some scrapbooking stuff. Had a blast!

You got some great fabric. I too love the VHC. I have some to do something with. I've seen the brown bear too. Can't wait to see what projects you come up with
Heather just called!!!

They are having lots of fun!!

Of course, now I'm REALLY missing them!
I bet they are all having fun. Just think of all the TR to read :)

I'm sorry you couldn't join in too.
, but I just got back from my trip to my parents-I even took a couple pics I can share.
The good news is, I was able to push myself and managed to make several things for them-
I'm so glad you were able to go and help. Sometimes family is the best medicine. I'll keep your father in my prayers.

Hope you are feeling better. Can't wait to see the dress

The dress is FABULOUS!

Minnie2, no he doesnt fish at all. He just likes to watch whatever is happening on the lake. He's a boater/sailor
He likes watching all the wildlife too. Last year they had a moose swim across the lake and come right up beside their house- really rare to see Moose in this part of Conneticut. Herons, cranes, geese, etc- he loves watching all of that. He has a waverunner he just bought last year, doesnt look like he'll be getting on it again though.
He moves so slowly and is clearly in pain, I hope they can help him with that soon. His mobility is near zilch. Hard for me since Im not supposed to be doing a lot either.

We will be there from 10/24-11/7
I soooo want to meet you all!!
Maybe a campfire meet?

We will (hopefully) be there 10/26-11/2. I think Tinkerbelle565 will be there around then as well. And a couple of others were in October, I think...

Cool! Where would we do a campfire meet? I am so not a nature girl! :lmao: George and i where just talking about possibly doing the Hoop dee doo revue? though he wants to do the luau again.
I'm going at that same time and I would love to meet you guys.:cool1:

If I grew up with a view like that I couldn't handle 4 walls either. I'm so glad your dad was able to be up and moving. I bet Megan loved having Gramma primp her hair :)

What a neat idea. I love how excited Lydia (and her friends) were to see her Arminda

I want to say that the Simply Sweet dress with the fairies on it is super cute.

The BIG GIVE Minnie Mouse outfit is adorable. It makes me want one for me (not that I could pull something like that off:lmao:)

Nicole your Feliz dress is adorable. I need to make one as a trial run before I do Jenna's Haunted Mansion Feliz.

I love the journal. It is very pretty.

Wendy-Your cousin's daughter's dress is adorable and so is she.

If I missed anything else I am sorry. Everything was adorable.

!!! It's NOAH'S SHIP DATE!!!

If you have shipped the item's for Noah's Big Give, please go to the Big Give site and update your shipping status. If you are having trouble shipping, please let us know. This is a Canadian Wish family, so things do need to go out on schedule to allow for longer shipping times. Please go over to the Big Give site to make sure it says "shipped" next to your name, if you've shipped.

Thanks!

I bought Carla's pattern to make a hoodie for Drew. I want to line the hood to make it more comfortable for him.

I have fleece to make it out of. Would lining the hood with fleece be too much? Do you think something else would work better?

Thanks

Me and your dad would be instant friends! I can sit and look out the window for hours...no noise...just watching the wildlife! My parents have a place in the mountains here and when we go up there I always get up super early, sit on the porch before anyone wakes and watch the animals. We get wild turkeys, some boars and one we got a black bear...I went inside when he came around!:lmao:
