CLOSED - FRIDGE LOST - The Under-POP-ulated Fridge Swap

Should we buy a coffee pot also? It would add $2 to everyone's cost.

If your DH has never been that explains why he "doesn't get it". I can't tell you how many people I know go for their first time and come home planning another trip. It's addicting!

Yup! That would be my DH! He went the first time on our honeymoon in Sept 03...we've been back almost every year since! LOL He just told me yesterday he can't wait for our Disney vacation to come...not just vacation...he said "Disney vacation." He reads the Birnbaum book almost every day...it's starting to annoy ME! :lmao: He keeps telling me things....I ALREADY KNOW! YES, I've heard of that restaurant...YES, we were on that ride! Enough already. :rotfl2:

Piecey, your DH will LOVE it! Lucas will be old enough he'll be smiling at the characters & laughing...maybe even reaching for them. It will be amazing!

TWO more days til Shena goes to POP! The fridge & supplies should be waiting for her. I'm so excited and I don't even get to go for another 147 days! BUT, I can make dining in 57!! :woohoo:

Piecey you should checkout this thread for ideas on what to pack. http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=2112320 We took DD when she was just over a year old and it was GREAT! I highly recommend getting him use to a sling since that will make life so much easier when standing in lines! He can sleep that way too and feel safe if he's feeling a little overwhelmed. My DD is a momma's girl so when she's tired and scared she wants mommy to hold her so the sling helped alot!!!! Over all I think you will have a GREAT time! Just remember to take breaks and yes use the baby centers! They are the best thing!

We did that.........went in October thinking that would be our only trip for several years. When we left, we were already planning to come back in 14 months, and now we will actually be there only 7 months later (this May) and again in October. Now, if I can only convince DH that we still need to go back in December too......:scratchin

That's a great thread, thanks!! DS will be one when we go...and even though we went when DD was one (now 4), there's so much I've forgotten about traveling w/ little ones! Great ideas!

I wasn't planning on bringing the carrier/sling, since DS is already 20lbs at 6mths...how big was your daughter when you went? Seems so HEAVY now...can't imagine carrying him in it in 5mths. :rotfl2:

:rotfl: You guys are hilarious!

I had to beg and pout a bit to get DH to agree to this BUT DH is content, very content, to just be home. He was in the USMC and delpoyed 3 times so large crowds make him wary. Which is another reason I think October will be perfect for us. We'll also be taking a lot of breaks.. it'll be the perfect intro trip for both DH AND baby Lucas. :)

Thanks for that thread! I've got to figure out what to pack in my hospital bag first and then I'll move on to packing for Disney!!!!!

(btw, I am growing a big baby- Dr. is going to induce before he hits 9lbs or close to it, so I better start my weight lifting if I'm going to be carrying him with a sling!! Or maybe we'll let DH do that... hehe)

My DD was a preemie so she doesn't weigh much! She was only 20 lbs when we went. The sling I have from Walmart (Jelly bean I think) holds up to 35lbs. Sadly DD is still only 26ish lbs so I may get to use the sling again but she's getting a little too tall for it now. It's hard to get her in and out.

I have a baby bjorn hand me down...I really like it. It might be good for the lines...if his thunder thighs still fit in it by then. LOL That was a great tip, btw, about changing the baby before leaving the park so he's ready for bed when you get back! Don't know why I haven't been doing that all along! LOL

ONE MORE DAY til this swap takes off!!!! Shena must be SO excited (I know I am!!)! Hope you're all packed, Shena! Let us know as soon as you get back (unless you have internet access from WDW) how it went & maybe post a pic of the fridge? If you can...no rush, no pressure!! Have a fantasmic trip!!! Can't wait to hear all about it!

Thanks! I got it from someone else here on the boards! It is a GREAT tip isn't it?! She would always fall asleep on our way back to hotel on the bus and after the first time where I had to carry her limp heavy body all the way to the room I decided to put her in the sling before we got on the bus. That way when we got off I didn't have such a heavy load to carry. And when we got to the room i just laid her down on the bed and tucked her in! I also recommend the little clip on fans from CVS! They are foam blades but put out the air! I'm going to get a second one for our trip in Sept!

Is it June yet? I need the park hours!!! I am at a standstill on planning how about everyone else? What are you doing to pass the time?

Yup...total standstill. I have most of my dining planned out...can't wait to make that call!! BUT it may all need to be changed around depending on hours...

As for passing the time...well w/ 2 little ones, preschool, fridge swap, upcoming garage sale & DS's Christening in same weekend in one month :scared:...I'm pretty busy. LOL But I'd much rather be planning our vaca. :)

thanks avonlady! Now how do I subscribe to this thread? And is there a coffeepot included?

By posting here you should be subscribed...check your settings by clicking User CP at the top in the blue bar...you can set it (if it's not already) to get emails when there are new posts.

As of right now, we do not have a coffeepot. If anyone wants to donate one along the way, we won't say no! :goodvibes

Hi,

I would love to use this November 6 - 15th. Let me know what you need from me.

Thanks!

:welcome: DisneyDadNY :welcome:

We don't need anything from you, DisneyDadNY. When the time comes, you will exchange info w/ the swapper before & after you and make swapping arrangements...whether it's face-to-face or leaving it in luggage services.

So, welcome! And let us know if you have any questions along the way!

~Jodi~

I am really excited and nervous. I think I have everything ready. I am actually sitting and not planning, packing, and going crazy anymore. I will be glad to let you guys know how it goes. I have dial-up but I will try to upload a pic of the fridge. Shena

I PM'd you w/ the fridge info again...also emailed it a while ago, but just in case... :goodvibes

Have a GREAT TIME!! And a safe safe drive! Glad you're all done packing!! :)

Ok, guys! Good news & bad news. We got our fridge & supplies...it's on it's way to POP now!! Woohoo!! Shena's on her way to POP too!

I just got off the phone w/ Wegoshop & she went to 3 different Walmarts, after calling to confirm they had our fridge (as did I...a couple in the area said they had it...) Well, long story short, they didn't. She walked down the aisle and told me each of the fridges they DID have in stock...we're getting a 2.7 cubic foot fridge w/ a freezer section. She looked at it & said that it will fit a couple bottles of water in the freezer & a gallon of milk if you take out a shelf. (I remember those were some of the wishes we had.) That was our best option...the others were smaller, more expensive for some reason, & had no freezers. :(

Judging by Amy's (she was the shopper at Wegoshop) description & the price she said it was, our fridge is similar to this one: http://www.walmart.com/catalog/product.do?product_id=5230741

Hopefully, Shena will take a good pic of it so we can see exactly! :)

I think that fridge will be fine. Things like this happen, and I think we'll all be happy to have a fridge, right? Thanks so much for getting all this done, Avon! Sounds like it was even more of a pain for you than we expected.

I sent you an email about August 1-6. Hopefully it is still available!
