An extract from an article on the orlando sentinel website.....

This is the month and, in particular, the week when Walt Disney World theme parks slow down enough that they take a few attractions off-line to be refurbished, including Splash Mountain at Magic Kingdom and Rock 'n' Roller Coaster at Disney-MGM Studios.

Splash Mountain will be closed starting Tuesday and will stay closed through Jan. 27. Rock 'n' Roller Coaster also closes Tuesday and will not reopen until after Jan. 21.

The entire Typhoon Lagoon water park closes Sunday and will remain closed through March 17. However, Blizzard Beach, which has been closed since Oct. 29 for refurbishment, reopens Saturday. Also this week, Epcot's Wonders of Life Pavilion was scheduled to close today, with no certain reopening date, and the El Rio del Tiempo boat ride at Epcot's Mexico Pavilion will close Tuesday through April 1.

Sadly it's one of the downsides to going 'off peak'.

I think I would cry if Rock 'n Roller Coaster was closed during one of our trips :sad2: It would be doubly bad because DW would make me go on ToT extra times :scared1:

I would be gutted if I went and those two rides were closed :sad2: but, as Alan says, that's the price you pay if you go in the off season I guess.
