Bluecastle- That's exactly the way dd is-my shadow when she is sick otherwise very independent. Monday will be a week & she should be fine to start our morning walks. That should fill up an hour or two;) The cast should come off in a month, we'll know more Tuesday with her 1st xray. The Dr. wants to do an xray once a week. So, hopefully there will be plenty of time to rehab her arm/elbow before Sept 17th.

 Good morning, neighbor! Congratulations on booking WL:goodvibes. It's usually best not to request a specific room number because if that room is blocked, then the room assignor won't know why you requested it and can't easily try to put you into a similar room. If I were you, I would book the bunks and request a 'high floor with a Wishes view' or 'Wishes view, please.' Good luck!

Hi there! Good advice - right now I've got a request in for northside, upper levels. Maybe I should call and add "wishes view" too!

This will be my 5th WL stay (DH's 3rd) -- the first one with our DD (9mo). So, since we'll likely be back in the room earlier than in the past for bedtime, it would be nice to be able to see the fireworks from our balcony!

We've got a woods view, bunk bed booked. We don't need the bunkbed, but that's all I could get with free dining. I'm keeping an eye on things to see if we can get a plain woods view instead - hopefully someone will change their minds, and a room will open. Or do I have a better chance at wishes views with bunks??

Good Morning,

I am in need of some advice from the experts :wave2: we are going in 24 days and I would like to do something special for my sister & mother. We are all staying CL and could use some ideas. Anything I could have delivered to the room? They do love treats and sweets if that helps.

Thanks so much for any help!

I'm afraid that has probably been asked and answered already, but I have to admit I'm not up for reading over 100 pages...sorry everyone. I'm wondering about the pull-out sofas in the Villas. Are they the newer kind like at BWV where you don't even have to remove the pillows, just open it up? How are they for sleeping? Thanks for any info.

I have done something with the Disney Florist every visit from the big Welcome package to just a floral arrangement. I have even gotten a Minnie witch costume & dolls from the merchandise number to be sent to the florist and they did up a special package full of treats. They are a bit expensive but sooo worth it. They definatley do a great job. And, because you are staying CL they should be able to have your items all set up in your rooms before you get there-which is extra special. Check out their site.

Can you walk from Wilderness Lodge to Fort Wilderness? If so, is it a very long walk?

Thanks!
Carla

We plan to walk between the two regularly, I believe it's only a 15 minute walk...:thumbsup2
Walking/jogging to FW is so much fun! I look forward to it everyday. On the first page, I have photos of the trails that go from WL to FW. There are three ways to go:

There is a large concrete trail that starts near VWL and the bus stop. The trail can be used by walkers, runners and bikes (I've seen rollerbladers, too). The concrete ends right before where the ponies are and you can continue from there by crossing the road towards the ponies. The trail is then wood chips for a very short distance, until you veer to the right, cross another road, and continue from there on side walks which go all around FW. You will have to cross one more road where the side walk ends and continues on the other side. The roads only have an occasional golf cart or bus - they aren't ever busy and the speed limit is low.

There is also a trail that starts near VWL and directly next to the marina at WL. It is sandy and they don't seem to spray for mosquitoes there so it can get very buggy. The trail diverges and if you go to the right, you'll meet up almost in the middle of the concrete trail I mentioned above.

If you go straight, the trail runs along Bay Lake, past the FW marina, until it ends where there is a canal. You can continue from here by walking to the right of the canal. (The prints in the sand are from the horses they exercise in this area):

I don't believe booking a bunk will increase your chances of a Wishes view.

In addition to the Disney Florist that was mentioned, you could also order goodies through Private Dining. For example, here is a photo of the DELICIOUS chocolate covered strawberries available from PD. (Thank You, TLL!)

Great idea!

kook another great thing about the walk from WL to FW is seeing the deer! Every time I've made that walk I've seen at least 5. White tail deer as opposed to the black tail deer we have here on the west coast. I just learned the difference the other day so I thought I would show off!!! :rotfl2:

Kook, delightful photos of the Trail from WL to Ft Wildneness - I enjoy seeing the photos because it is as close as I will ever get...that kind of nature scares me, so I will never personally enjoy it. ;) Thank you for taking the time to share the photos. :)

Thanks for this information. We just decided to spend the last three night of our vacation at WL. We are booked in standard room. Do all standard rooms have full balconies? I know we may be over looking a roof or a parking lot, thats ok. I just want to be able to sit out on the balcony and regroup before the rest of the family gets up or relax on it after our busy day. Thanks.

you will get a balcony....

Re-posting this question...
Does anyone have any info on the sofa beds in the VWL sudios? Are they similar to the BWV sofa beds where you don't need to remove the cushions...just open it up? Are they comfortable?

Oh, I'm always happy to show-off WL, Christine. I find it so relaxing to be able to seek refuge from all the crowds and chaos that we sometimes encounter at WDW. If you go early morning, sometimes you're the only one (human, that is;)) out there. I'd love to take you on a tour! Then you peer through some branches and see this:

Congratulations on booking 3 nights at WL! Yes, as cwt580 posted, all rooms at WL have a balcony and they'e all the same size (except the suites) with two chairs and a small table.

I like your YC/CL decision ;). They are my "other" favorite resort! You will be right in the middle of everything Epcot :goodvibes.
Best of both worlds for her :goodvibes
WDWKOOK- I really enjoy reading about your resort changes! I look forward to hearing about your YC CL experience. (if that is in fact where you end up!)
We won't know until we get her TR :rotfl:

Well, if you like resort conflicted individuals, our little Resort Changers' thread is just for you. You don't even have to be actively changing. What am I saying, you changed your dates - you qualify!
Please stop on by bluecastle.......and well EVERYONE:grouphug:

Thank you! She was actually feeling better today until she hit it on the wall. Now I see why she can definately can not go back to camp, the slightest bump & she is in pain.
:crazy2: Yeouch! Hope she is having some more luck keeping entertained! The rain finally broke in our area. So nice to get the kiddos back outside again :)

Thanks much WDWKook and Deb & Bill. I like those all-in-one type of sofas that you can just open without taking them apart. They're pretty comfortable too. Thanks again. :goodvibes

Thank you for the assurance of a balcony. I read "somewhere" that some of the balconys were only partial view due to high walls?? idk? Anyway we are surprising our 13 and 14 year olds with this trip. We're going to tell them the night before,no way to hide packing from them. We are going to stay pop for the first 4 days then once its the 4th day we are going to surprise them again by moving to WL! I cant wait ! We leave in a little over 2 weeks.

 Hi, feline figaro!

While all the Standard View rooms will have a view below of the service area/smokehouse and the otter pond off to the right in the North Wing (photos on the first page) or the parking lot off to the right/bus stop/VWL/FW woods in the South Wing, the North Wing rooms that are on or near the top floor have a view of Wishes. So you might want to request a North Wing/high or top floor so that you can see some of Wishes at night;)

Many Thanks for the great advice :thumbsup2
If we book a standard room we will def put a request in & keep our fingers crossed
We re still holding out hope that we ll be able to rent some points to stay in WL DVC but so far no luck:confused3

While all WL rooms have full-sized balconies, all of the CL 7th floor rooms and some of the 6th floor rooms do have solid balconies that you have to be standing to look over.

What a great surprise for your teens! And, you saved the best resort for last:thumbsup2
