Let the Pixie Dust begin!! Checked in to my flight this morning and upgraded to Business Class Seating! This is going to be fantastic with a 23 month old on my lap! More leg room and no one next to us?? Yes pls! Cannot wait to walk into the WL lobby. My heart is racing, no way I'm getting any sleep tonight!! Luckily our flight leaves at 7am! =)

Wonderful!!! Have an amazing trip!!!

Has anybody stayed at WL very recently? I want to know the status of the room rehabs in the north wing.

We'll be checking in a couple of weeks, and I don't know if I should ask for a new room (if possible) and risk the noise and mess of construction or go for a room on the south side to avoid the rehab altogether. We have a woodsview room BTW.

Just got back from a nine night stay in un-rehabbed room #5107. It was a very nice room with a view of the porch and side view of the pool and lake. They were rehabbing the other wing and we wouldn't have know it if they hadn't put up a sign. No noise or any disruption to our stay.

You are going to have so much fun! I can't wait to get back to WL in Oct! :cloud9:

Good to know about the no noise or disruption. That should put everyone's mind at ease.

We were perfectly content to sit in the lounge that evening and wait out the repairs:rotfl: - we loved the location of our room and water was only leaking onto to the carpeting from that spot near the sink area before the hole that was caused by one of the maintenance men's leg going through the ceiling:eek:. I was really just worried that the man was hurt (which I was assured he wasn't). Before the hole, we thought that maybe we'd just have to move to another room for the night and I asked if we could move back to that room after the repairs (we were staying 11 more nights and the room was perfect for us). Little did I know that when Randy, the CL manager, told us we'd be right next door that that was the Presidential Suite:faint:. It has two entrances and the door next to our room isn't labeled as the Yellowstone Suite so we thought it was just a room like ours.

The next morning, Randy came to our breakfast table and handed us new KTTW cards and told us we would be in the suite for the remainder of our stay:faint::worship:. I think I was speechless for a while (a rarity). This was the most unexpected and amazing upgrade ever and way beyond what was necessary to make-up for the ceiling mishap. It was my DH's first trip back to WDW after his deployment to Afghanistan and so it was already a special trip to begin with and the upgrade went above and beyond. I think you can all see now why I have only wonderful things to say about the OFC and all the CMs at WL - they are amazing people.

:thumbsup2

Wow, what a story, and a great Disney way of handling things. Take what could have been a real negative and turn it into a great story to tell for years. It is neat you got pictures too.

Hey quick question, I will be staying at the villas at WL in December and I will be in a deluxe studio room. My question is is the sleeper sofa a queen sleeper? I see everywhere different answers to my question, from double to full to queen, so I don't know who to trust? Thanks so much!

Looks like you have your room request all set for your anniversary trip

WDWKook, would you suggest requesting that particular room? OR what do you think is the best way to handle it.

That's great and can only be a sign of things to come:wizard:. Hope you'll check-in with us if you get a chance! Have a great vacation, calismic.
Thanks for all the great info and advice WDWKOOK. Can't wait to arrive at WL.
You're welcome and I can't wait for you to arrive at WL - it won't be long now!

Yes, they MORE than made-up for the mess and it's a great story to tell. But by far the best pictures are of the Yellowstone Suite on the first page:goodvibes

:welcome: to the DIS and the WL/VWL thread, DonalDuck89!

The VWL Studio Villas have a double-sized sofa bed.

I can not even imagine the look on your face when you walked into that scene!!!!!:rotfl2: Sooooo glad your well deserved upgrade helped make your trip even more magical:wizard: and very well deserved. Special thanks, by the way to your DH for doing what he does ;)

Generally, I would recommend against requesting a specific room number. It's a little easier to do this when staying CL because some of the CL concierges have the ability to do room assignments.

If you do request a specific room number, I would add to your request the reason you're requesting the room. For example, you might want to request "Room 0000, please or a room with bunk beds on a high floor in the North Wing." This way, the room assignor knows why you're requesting the room if it's not available for you, she can try to get you into a comparable room.

When you check-in, just ask the CM if you've been assigned room 0000, if you haven't, ask if it's available (it's probably not) and then ask if the room you've been assigned has the features/location you prefer. You can do all this even if your room isn't ready yet. The room will have been assigned to you about 3 days prior to your arrival. Good luck!

You're so sweet:hug:

It was a little like the scene from Daddy Daycare when Eddie Murphy walks into the bathroom after his son has been in there and he looks to the front and side then up and down:eek:. When we left the room we had placed a bucket under the leak. But, when we were sent back to the room to move next door, the ceiling was as I posted and the floor and sinks were covered in the broken ceiling tiles and there was a ladder and tools in the middle of it all. I could see why no one wanted us to stay in the room, but before I saw it, I was hoping to be able to return for the night:rotfl:. Well, we did get to return last month:thumbsup2

That's right, you are staying CL - sorry - and it's right there in your signature plain as day:blush:. Yes, go ahead and request the room number, but also put a reason or two in the request as to why you want that room. Then, email your request to the IPO and they will email back confirming that they've added your request to your reservation. About one week before you arrive, email the IPO again just to make sure your request is still noted. Good luck!

Should I do that when we make the reservation (which will be soon cuz I can't stand to wait much longer!:upsidedow)? Do I email the room request to the IPO right away or when it gets much closer to our arrival date...like maybe next spring?

Thanks for all your help!!!

I haven't finalized my request, but I think I intend on putting the room number last - after the reasons why I want the room in priority order. Like this:

2 queen beds,
inner courtyard,
north wing,
Room xxxx or Room xxxx

My thinking will be they know in order what is most important to me, and if either of those two rooms are available, I will get them. If not they can work down my priority list. Dunno if it's true or not, but that's my plan. :)

Do it when you make the reservation. After you've made the reservation and have a confirmation number, then you can email the IPO and confirm that the request is in there.

That is a great plan, GatorEye and I do the same thing. I recently requested a room without a connecting door and a certain view, and then I added, "like room XXXX."

From WDWKOOK: Thanks for reporting that you weren't bothered by any rehab noise from the other wing. Did you book a BB?

Yes, I booked a BB for 5 nights starting 12/9/12.

Thanks to TheLodgeLady:goodvibes, we now have a Club Level (7th floor) map which I've also posted to the CL section on the first page:
