One more sleep...I don't think I can tonight!
That's another reason why I love driving to WDW - I can't sleep anyway so getting up super early gets us there earlier!

I hope you have a wonderful vacation and safe travels! You're one state closer than me:thumbsup2

Yay for you going back for spring break :yay:. Funny how things work out and you were able to get exactly what you booked before :wizard:. Are you still toying with your summer anniversary trip? I know just how you feel.....it's not easy making those decisions. I can't decide where to book for a (possible) New Years trip so I asked DH today if we should go with something tried and true (WL or Poly) or try something different (BWI). He said he wouldn't mind trying a new resort...and wouldn't you know, out of the deluxes we haven't stayed at (YC, BWI, & CR), he chose CR :scared1:. I have always wanted to stay at the CR for maybe a night or two, but not sure I want it for a week . So.....along with your decisions about your anniversary trip, I am in unchartered territory with considering the CR :rotfl:. I guess I should head over to the CR FAQ and start reading up on things there....and then head to the RC thread because I'm sure if I do book it, it will get changed more times than I can count :rotfl2:.
Ooooo, our next door neighbor - CR! We just love the CR's Tower rooms with the BLV. (In fact, I love it so much that I was asked to create the next CR thread when it's nearing closure.) Of course, I'm going to recommend a split for you: start with the unknown (BWI since it's an Epcot resort) and finish with the tried and true (WL;)). Christmas '10, DD and I did a CR-WL split and I loved it.

Come on over to the CR thread anytime and I'd be happy to post photos and/or answer any questions. We've stayed many times and now you've got me wondering if I should throw it into my summer mix - you're right, so many great choices - so little time...

I haven't booked anything yet, but DH is stuck on the CR. It's the only monorail resort we haven't tried and he said we are always there visiting/shopping/dining, so why not give it a try and stay there ;). The more I think about it, I am actually getting excited to try it (even though it's not a resort that has ever appealed to me), but then again the Poly and WL (as well as BWI) keep stalking me :rotfl:. We will probably only go for 6 nights, so a split stay wouldn't work for us this time. We did a 2/4 split in December 2010 and it seemed like we were never really settled at either resort. DH wouldn't mind a split if it was for a longer time like 9 or 10 nights. I will head over to the CR thread and do some research. DH asked if we would be in the tower and I said yes......that other than CL, there is a Baylake view and theme park view.....to which he replied "well, you have to get the MK view"......so needless to say, I'm looking at CR TPV :faint:.

my2disneyboys......Love your pics.....thanks for sharing :goodvibes. The WL is such a beautiful resort that seeing these pics make me wish I was there now :).

my2disneyboys- great photos! I can see our room from your shot on the balcony. We had an inner courtyard room that looked down on that patio.
We loved standing out on our balcony to watch the EWP!

You would think a full week would give plenty of extra time for the many activities around the World, but it never does, at least not for us!
Not for us either....
I may just have to wander on over to the RC thread as I am terrible with booking early and thinking too much about our trips
Come on over! We are a friendly bunch!!! And you've help me with my changes too, so I am more than happy to help! the problem is there are too many wonderful resorts to choose from!!!!

my2disneyboys Awesome photos!!! Makes me want to stay there.....even more

Kook:hug: You know I feel the same way about you my friend. Hope you stay out of lurker mode...we missed you!!!

We stayed at CR with a TPV on Atrium Club level in June 2010. We loved it! I lurk on all the resort boards because it's on my bucket list to stay in all WDW resort hotels at least once (not counting Swan, Dolphin, Shades of Green, or villas). I think WL looks great & I hope to stay there someday!

Thanks Mickeynut1 & WDWKOOK for the insight.

We knew about the Fort Wilderness walk, but might try the bike ride instead. And archery...really? That sounds pretty cool. Speaking of Fort Wilderness, do they still have the outdoor movie?

You would think a full week would give plenty of extra time for the many activities around the World, but it never does, at least not for us!

We did the Nature Trail from Ft W back to WL (did the segway tour at FW) and it is a beautiful walk, only took maybe 15 min tops at a stroll.

WL had the movies on the beach.

A week is never enough for us either. We had 8 nights in Jan. But when we go in Aug it's 10 12 nights, and even that is never enough  You think they'd notice if we just moved in?

Thank you :flower3:. I love that Disney has so many choices, but then it does make it much harder to choose between them all :sad2:.

Glad you loved the CR :). I love visiting (which we do every trip), but the theme/decor has never done anything for me. But I have always wanted to try it just to see what it's like actually staying there and not just passing through. I always said I'd never stay at the GF due to the "feel" of the resort atmosphere......now it's one of my favorites :goodvibes. So after thinking about it a little, the CR does seem to be a good choice since it will be new to us, it is on the monorail (which we love), and it has CS options like we're used to (Captain Cooks and Roaring Forks). If it really came down to it and we didn't like it at all, we could always move to a different resort, but at least say we gave it a try.

I hope you get to try the WL....it really is an awesome resort :thumbsup2.

I agree......10 or 12 nights wouldn't be enough for me either :rolleyes1.

I know.....it's my downfall ;)

I hear ya. We love trying new resorts, but I'm always afraid I'll miss our favorite(s). I love the GF, but when we stayed there, I missed Poly. Now I'm afraid if we stay at the CR I'll want to be somewhere else :(. I told my DH we could solve that problem by going more often, therefore making it easier to choose resorts :rotfl: :rotfl:.

I know just what you mean. Back in 2010, DD and I tried YC/CL which was very nice, but one day into our stay, we had gone on the monorail and when I saw the CR, I really missed it, so I went in, talked to a manager and she switched us from YC/CL to the Atrium Club for the next 8 nights!

Same thing happened on our last Poly stay. Three days in, we just weren't happy at all with the cleanliness of our room and the common areas and our view. We were on the monorail and DD and DH said they missed CR, so I made them get off at the CR right then and there and I got us all changed over to the CR. So, yes, the same thing could happen to you. I've learned though that there is a lot of comfort in picking the tried and true;)

Yesterday, I finally straightened out our summer trip:yay:. We now have the correct dates and we are booked 7 nights at BWI/CL and then 6 nights at the Atrium Club:goodvibes

Have you picked a December resort yet?

Have you picked a December resort yet?

This is exactly what I'm thinking. As I've said, we love trying new resorts, but when you find the one(s) that you just LOVE, it's so hard trying others for fear of missing the tried and true :sad2:. I thought I convinced myself to bite the bullet and book CR TPV as I told DH if we got there and really didn't like it, we could always move; but every time I think I'm there, I start second guessing :headache:. I really want to try/like the CR. The CR would be for December. Our July trip is kind of on hold/up in the air. We have so much going on these next 6 months that it might be hard to get away. DH asked me this morning what those dates where so he could give them to work. I gave him the dates, but told him we will play it by ear. It's a room only ressie so we have time. I told him if we see we can go and airfare is on our side, we will go; if not, I will just plan for December. So he is going to put tentative dates in at work and we'll see what happens ;).

I am so happy for you that you got your summer dates/resorts squared away :yay:. Looks like you will get the best of both worlds......Epcot resort and then MK/monorail resort in the same trip.....doesn't get much better than that :goodvibes.

That's where the split comes in - one known entity and one unknown, and do the known entity last so you end on a high note;)

Not knowing whether you'll go in July is going to make it hard to know what to do for December - you have my sympathy. You feel like you're in limbo and that can be frustrating. Would you stay longer in December if you don't do the July trip? If you do, then you could have more time to rationalize a split. I really think you need to try CR. It has a lot going for it. Come on over some time to the CR thread and I'll try and convince you;)

If we go in the summer, it will definitely be the Poly as the volcano pool is our favorite pool on property :goodvibes. Going in December makes it easier to try a different resort since swimming is hit or miss. We have the time to stay longer in December, but if it's over New Years, there's no chance for a room discount which makes it quite a bit more expensive than another time of year, which means we wouldn't go for more than probably 6 nights......so I would stick with one resort.

You may not have to do much convincing for the CR. I just talked to a friend of mine who stayed at BLT last spring and while talking to her, I realized just how convenient being so close to MK via the walkway can be. We do a couple of breakfasts at different resorts every trip and it's a pain to get there without having resort-to-resort transportation. Being at CR makes it easy to walk to MK and grab a resort bus from there and you're at breakfast in no time :thumbsup2. I think I've decided to book the CR and see where it leads. I may make alot of changes between now and then, but I may just make the decision to stick with it and give it a try......it can't hurt ;).

Thought we could use a photo or two or...

What a great day to open this thread and see these pictures!! I loved our stay at WL a couple of years ago. A part of me really wishes we were staying here again in April, but it will just be too crowded for us (me, DH, DD6, DD3, DD1, who will be in a pack and play). I kinda just wanna suck it up though, b/c it will be the last time we could stay in a standard room b/c next time w go youngest DD will be at least 3.

Don't forget about the bunk beds;) and the Deluxe rooms which accommodate 6. I hope you get to go back!
