Quick question (and please no flames, I'm new to staying onsite). If I'm staying at WL can I bring guests to the pool with me? They're staying at another of the Disney hotels, but we wanted to spend an afternoon at the pool together.

Thanks for the help! :worship:
You can take your flame suit off, but the answer is technically, "No."

Nope. The pools at all Disney Resorts are for guests of that resort. You could all meet at Typhoon Lagoon or Blizzard Beach?

I'm sorry, but I have no idea what that is:confused3

It is my understanding (and I could be confused) is that it is a Native American Blessing that is done yearly. Maybe done in the past or at Fort Wilderness:goodvibes:goodvibes I think I heard a tour guide?? January 2010 talk about a November ceremony.

Quick FYI fro everyone:

From http://www.screamscape.com/html/walt_disney_world_resort.htm#General

(8/18/11) Screamscape source tell us that Wilderness Lodge will begin to undergo its own 18 month long refurbishment project starting later this year. Lots of new wallpaper and carpet will be replaced all over the resort. The rooms will receive some nice makeovers as well from what I’m told, with new carpets, bedding, and a focus on redoing the bathrooms as well. Don’t worry, the resort will stay open during this process, they will just close sections down one at a time to work on them.

We heard rumors of this from a CL guest a few months back. Guess it is becoming a reality. Refurbs in the past have not affected guests other than closing room sections of the resort at a time. Maybe I'll get a new room in December. :rotfl:

So excited we are staying at WL for DH58 bday on 10/27:bday::bday: , will participate in MNSSHP party:party:on that evening, and doing the spooky carriage ride on 10/31.:scared1::scared1: Here's my question....Is the path between WL and Fort Wilderness open in the evening? Is it lit? Has it been decorated in the past? :hmghost::hmghost:

Thanks so much for any information:worship::worship:

There are no lights on that path so it is very dark at night, and I have never seen it decorated either.

Thanks for the link. I've posted about the top to bottom rehab, but in case you missed it... The CL Manager, Randy said that he saw the model room and it looks great. Everything will be replaced, including bathroom fixtures. He said that it could take up to two years to complete and was originally slated to begin in December, but has been postponed until February 2012.

I wonder if this will be WL only or include VWL as well? Can't see why they would do one and not the other but you never know....

Wow WDWKOOK!!!

What a fantastic job you have done!! :worship:

Thanks so much for all the info - so great to find everything all in one place :thumbsup2

If only you could have included some info on how to make the time until D-Day go a little faster...... ;)

34 days until our first ever visit to The World and WL! :yay: :woohoo: :yay:

I didn't ask and Randy, the CL Mgr. did not mention the Villas. I'm going to assume that DVC operations are run on a different budget and rehab. timeline than Resort operations:confused3. Just a guess, but perhaps this could be answered in the DVC forum.

Ohh maybe I will get one of the Refurb rooms when we go in Aug 2012!
As of now, it does seem like a possibility. I wonder who will be the first to report back on staying in the NEW room?:hyper:

Thanks so much for your kind comments, katvdm:goodvibes

I hope that your 34 days (now 33?:thumbsup2) go by quickly and your stay at WDW goes by v e r y s l o w l y:tiptoe:

:hourglass Just waiting for 3 days of my life to pass by... :hourglass

Those last few days (now just two?:thumbsup2) can move like molasses, but then I always feel like its crunch time and so many things can only be done those last few days. Then I get frazzled and have to tell myself that its all for a good cause and soon I'll be at WDW and this will all be behind me in the rearview mirror:car:.

I hope everyone who is leaving soon has a WONDERFUL vacation:goodvibes. Don't forget to report back here when you get back;)

good morning everyone!!! I was just rereading all the great info at the beginning of this thread and I have a quick question. It says that the red flag boat to the mk doesn't begin until a half hour before park opening. Is this correct? It's been several years since our last stay at the wl but we are a rope drop family and are usually at the gates by then!! can anyone confirm? :confused3 thanks! :)

Photos of the two wonderful surprises we found in our CL room (before we were moved to the Yellowstone Suite) on Days One and Two...

This was a LOT of solid white chocolate:donald:. The box contains a chocolate box with a WL lid. We still have it and I can't bring myself to break it up!

KOOK The only reason we ate ours was because DH told me it would melt in the car on the drive home. (From AKL). I LOVE chocolate. But I agree it's so special, I did want to keep it forever :lovestruc

Are these things that you usually get in CL, or was this just an extra surprise, either way very nice:love:

I believe that only the chocolate canoe that is pictured on the first page and in the first photo above is a CL gift. The other items were a "welcome home" to my DH who was visiting WDW for the first time since his return from being deployed to AFG.

Yes, they were very thoughtful and unexpected. We really appreciated them.

:yay:WDWKOOK thanks to your husband (and you) for serving our great country !!!!!!!!!:cheer2:
