Ok, I am officially jealous of Kook

:grouphug: (I prefer milk or dark chocolate, but hey, what a treat!!!)

The box is the coolest.

What is your faviorite piece of WL themed merchandise?

I so should have bought the stellar mug they had on sale there... next time

Hey I will be in your neck of the woods in the beginning of Sept to pick up my oldest DD from her Grandma's!...well NoVA that is :D
Hope you can avoid any route with "95" in it;). Hope DD had fun this summer at Grandma's.

Mug? But, I thought you dreaded mugginess?

Anytime you see something on sale that you might like at the Mercantile - buy it! It seemed that all the resort-themed merchandise that was half-off flew off the shelves.

I love the Wilderness Lodge green sweat jacket I was able to get for half-off, so it was only about $26. It's very cozy and emblazoned with WILDERNESS LODGE. It was even useful in the CL lounge when it gets chilly in the AC.

The box is cool and must weigh a pound at least. I didn't even realize until I got home that it was a box. We were eating so much turn-down chocolate (let's see, four pieces nightly times 12 nights...), two chocolate canoes, chocolate WL disks the size of a half dollar and that huge white chocolate DD, that I hid the box from the family. I still have a baggie full of turn-down chocolates. It brings a smile to my face when I have one:)

Are these things that you usually get in CL, or was this just an extra surprise, either way very nice:love:

Last year we recieved the canoe and the box. DD6 was 5 at the time & just HAD to crack into both of them. :) The canoe was milk chocolate and the box was dark and white with 3 or 4 bon bons.

good morning everyone!!! I was just rereading all the great info at the beginning of this thread and I have a quick question. It says that the red flag boat to the mk doesn't begin until a half hour before park opening. Is this correct? It's been several years since our last stay at the wl but we are a rope drop family and are usually at the gates by then!! can anyone confirm? :confused3 thanks! :)

I would love to know the answer to this too! Not that I doubt WDWKOOK!!!! :thumbsup2

Doubt away! I like having the oversight:thumbsup2

The Red Flag boat to the MK does not start operating until 0830 or 30 minutes prior to park opening.

If you're trying to get over to the MK earlier, I have two suggestions:

1. You can take the bus to the MK beginning one hour prior to park opening.

OR

2. You could take the Blue Flag to the CR and then walk to the MK. The Blue Flag operates at 0645.

Thanks yet again WDWKOOK!! :cool1:

The blue flag boat sounds good - is it much of a walk from the contemporary?

It's an easy 10 minute walk from the CR walkway to the entrance to the MK and it's never crowded. It starts next to the bus stop at the front/left of the resort. There is a blue sign that reads: WALKWAY TO MAGIC KINGDOM.

Thanks so much!! Think we will go with this option if the jet lag has us awake early ;)

Just make sure to ask the Captain what his next stop is. The Blue Flag boats have been going in two different directions the last few times I have been there. So one boat will take you over to FW before the CR. The other will go right to the CR. Though the extra few minutes of boat ride over to FW is really pretty if you have the time.

I just ordered my WL mug!!!

Should have bought it when I was there, but anyhoo..

Brian, we asked the captain about this in June when we went and he said the boats operate in a clockwise motion in the morning and then counterclockwise in the afternoon. I believe they switch around 1 or 2. I'm not sure though. The red flag boats do the same thing.

You're welcome!

LOL...With that advice she'll end up on 66 or 270 during rush hour! :rotfl:

Which one did you get?

Just booked my 2012 trip- did Club Level this time. :)
Congrats! You will love the Old Faithful Club. You need a tickerpopcorn::

Arrived this morning for our 10 night stay! Got here at 10:30am and the room was ready. For reference:booked a standard view, got a free upgrade to woods view. Great one too. Directly above a pond, and you can see the castle, the contemporary, and I'm guessing the fireworks! Whoohoo!

So ready for our first stay at WL!! Turns out DS's teacher is a WDW nerd, too, and she loves WL! Even funnier, she's taking her kids out of school to go the same week we are.
