Now looking at Mar 5-8, just $200 more but the weather should be better too.

We went over the exact same weekend in 1982 - our second WDW visit and first Poly stay - it was perfect!!! Have fun!

Just changed our December reservations to the Wilderness Lodge (from the POFQ). So excited to be staying WL AND at Christmas time!!!

Does this resort have special activities at Christmas?

We have stayed here before and really liked the lobby and outdoor areas but our room was pretty small and our view was of the DVC instead of the Courtyard even though we paid for "Courtyard view". Any ideas how to optimize getting a true main courtyard view?

Here is the flyer from last Christmas.

A Courtyard View can actually be of either the inner courtyard of the WL or of the courtyard of the VWL. Make sure you request an "INNER COURTYARD VIEW" when booking a CV room and that view will be of Bay Lake, the geyser and the WL pool.

Ask when you check-in if you've been given an inner courtyard view. If by chance you weren't, just ask if you could have one. They are very good about honoring requests.

Looks like I "convinced" the BF to stay at WL next year

Now we just need to get him a job so we know what budget we're on. Yes, it seems weird to pick a place before knowing a real budget but I have a hefty savings account due to my mom's pension that spare the dollars for this trip without too much damage to it. He just doesn't was to feel like he's "mooching" off my craving for a WDW trip (I think if it was left up to him he'd pay for the whole trip on his own)

I'm loving all the great pics.....thanks for the new thread, WDWKOOK . Our December trip started out at WL CL and went through alot of changes to finally end up at Poly CL. I thought I was finally done making changes, but after reading this thread and seeing all the great pics, maybe another change is in order .

Thank you so much, mickeynut1. Well, you can't make too many changes. Remember, I had booked, de-booked, re-booked... Poly/CL and WL/CL several times before finally getting it right. We even managed to cancel our Poly split after checking-in to WL, so you know which direction I'd push you - right into the WL lobby!

We've stayed at the WL twice, with once being CL (back in 2004) and we loved it. The Poly has bigger rooms and a daybed (which is nice with 2 teens), but the WL is just gorgeous during Christmas time and I keep thinking about sitting in the lounge looking over into the lobby . I have to laugh though because my DH thinks I've lost it with all the changes I've made since I booked in February ......but I told him I'm not the only one who does it and that there are alot of people that make changes, with some changing more than I do .

Oh yeah it will definately be worth the insomnia. Since DD dosen't have any idea we're going I have to pack up the car once she is in bed. I also want to get an early start so that means 5am for me. I am just glad that MNSSHP seems to be full of fun so I won't fall asleep. I am sincerely hoping that my DD takes a nap on the way down so she is full of energy.

Since I booked the trip, the first thing I see when I log on to the Disney World Website is a beautiful picture of the lodge with the waterfall in front and a note saying how soon our trip is. Sometimes I log on just to see it.
