Hi, we will be at WL May 1-7! I have a woods view room booked for my family of 4. After reading this thread I was thinking the bunk beds might be a good idea for us. May I request them with a woods view reservation or would I have to upgrade?

Thanks!

You would have to upgrade to a woods view bunk bed room, since it is a bookable category. It costs a little more than a regular room, too. Our grandson loved his bunkbed. :)

Hi everyone, I have learned so much reading this thread! We will be staying in a 2 bedroom villa at WL early Feb. First time at this resort with our 6 kids. We are bringing my mom (she makes our 9th person) so we are getting her her own room at the lodge. We have her booked for a Woods view room with 2 queens. My question is: Is this the most economical way to handle this? Our villa is full with DH, myself and 6 kids. We really want to stay at WL and dont want to change resorts. Some of the grands will probably stay with grandma a few nights. Her room alone is $2300 for 6 nights--yikes! I did check Orbitz--same prices. Any thoughts or is this the best pricing we will get to have her near us? Thanks!

Did you look at renting points for a studio for her at VWL???

This might be a really dumb idea, for lots of possible reasons, but would replacing the 2BR + Room, with two cabins at the campground, get you the same feel?

I can think of lots of possible reasons why you might not like that idea. But I don't know if any of those possible reasons apply, to y'all.

I have a question about room views for the villas.

We are staying one week in a one bedroom and the next week in a studio. Is it possible when doing our on line check in to ask for a view of either the pool or the beach or do you have to call in for a view request with the villas.

Are those views even an option with the villas?

I know nothing is guaranteed but I thought we might ask this time around.

Thanks

The views for the villas would be either the quiet pool, woods, or the bus stop area. You can't see the beach from the villas, although the highest floors might have a view of Bay Lake over the tree tops.

You can barely see the bus stop area from the villas, too, with all the trees between them. Mostly, you get trees, trees and more trees. And sometimes the dumpster.

Arrived last night around midnight! Quiet lobby, fast check-in, and very (pleasantly) surprised to see the Christmas tree still up! Got our north side woods view request - but 2nd floor - maybe we'll have a small glimpse at some fireworks?

I hope you have a great trip. Maybe you'll get to watch them take the tree down. :)

If you have time, let us know if the scaffolding is still in front of the lobby windows or if it has moved. We will be there in 16 days and I'm hoping it is not too obtrusive. I can't wait to see how the new pool area improvements look.

I'll be there right before you Sue so I'll try to get some pics of the pool area.

I can't wait to escape this ny cold!!!

The tree went up late this year so maybe that's why. Lucky you! I missed it in November.

Have a great trip!:beach:

Thanks for the information. So, basically it really doesn't matter. I guess I will ask for quiet pool and whatever happens happens. ;)

This is where I would like to be right now! Even in my warm house, my feet are still cold. Hope everyone is keeping warm!

When does the Christmas tree come down?
I believe they usually take it down the week before the marathon. But there have been years with Winter-wonderland-type weather (like today) when they leave it up past the marathon. At least in some locations on property. I'd be really surprised if it was still up after 1/11.

Can anyone tell me if there is a toaster in the kitchen for a 2 BR villa? Freezer waffles are an alarming percentage of my youngest's list of acceptable breakfast foods... Thanks!
