(CLOSED) Disney's WILDERNESS LODGE and VILLAS INFORMATION THREAD ~2014~

This is exactly what we did. We love the boat too, but for an early MK ADR found the bus to work great. We had to wait a while for the bus to show up, but once it did it was a quick 5 minute trip and we were at the gate in time to maximize our pre park open time on Main Street. You gotta love early CP ADRs :thumbsup2

Then we got our boat fix on the way back to WL once the crowds arrived.:goodvibes

My personal fav!!!!

We are hoping to add 1 night onto our trip in December . We really want to try WL CL. I have briefly looked through this site for some info on what the current offerings are in the club, but could not find any info. Does anyone have a menu or pictures.

Also if Disney does release a RO, but is usually the discount for CL first week of December?

Looking forward to catching up on this thread really soon. :thumbsup2

Check out Page 1, Posts 7-9 of this fab thread powered by the kind-of-absent-cuz-she's-just-having-way-too-much-fun KOOK!

Srry I only have a pic if that dreaded COBBLER!:cool1:

I know there are tons of OFC offerings on the previous WL thread unless someone else has some handy...;)

Not exactly sure what you are asking re:room discounts but CL is almost always included(I personally have not seen otherwise). Even Deluxe rooms have been discounted as of late.

:goodvibes

It would be nice if they finish the pool refurbishment early by our Nov 9th arrival but know it's not going to happen. Did not plan to take a dip, but would rather not see all the construction walls. Anyway, I plan to concentrate on enjoying seeing WL decked out for the holidays, enjoying a lighter crowd in Roaring Forks and hopefully snag a cheaper room from a cancellation due to the pool situation. :stitch2: Daydreaming until then.

Bad news, but I read somewhere that they didn't decorate for Christmas til the 19th of nov last year.
I am hoping to move out trip back a few weeks because of this.

If it were just DH and me, we would be all over the snacky goodness and boozy treats. But as this is the big 5th birthday surprise adventure for DD, practicality and convenience won the debate. :)

All I can say is that I'm in love with the phrase snacky goodness and boozy treats. :)

So if we have an early CP reservation, mine is 8 10 too, we should be at the bus stop by 7 20 max? Do we have to let the front desk know the night before that we need an early breakfast bus? I read somewhere that if you don't do that, the bus might not come?

How long are you staying? I don't think the decorations went up until the 19th last year.

WL transportation info is all on Page 1, Post 13 of this thread.

No, you do not need to tell the front desk you have an early ADR but do mention it to the bus driver as you board the bus. The early ADR buses begin their route at 6:30am

Enjoy CP n say hi to Pooh!:wave2:

Joining in!!! We stayed here in 2008 for our honeymoon and again in 2010 at which point we bought into DVC at BLT. We plan on paying OOP and staying club level in October 2015. Miss this place!!! I can't wait to stay here again!!!

P.S. I just left this exact post on the closed thread. Sorry!!! Thought I had clicked on this one.

Just wanted to send a shout out to everyone. I'm here now and sadly, vacation is soon coming to an end. I have to say, that after all the worrying that the springs refurb may have on the stay, haven't missed it a bit. Ended up at the end of the north wing courtyard (first floor) and love it. Not sure I would be thrilled during pool closure, but after transporting to Contemporary by boat and seeing the pool, wouldn't be quite so bummed. Kids actually wanted to go on that slide and pool more than WL, but mom is a rule follower and won't let them sneak in ;). Happy trails to all :goodvibes

I'm glad that the spring rehab didn't affect your trip. I have to agree with you about the pool at the Contemporary. It looks really nice over there. :beach:

Awesome! My honeymoon was also my first ever Disney trip... that sucked me in big time. LOL. We got married in February and Disney was freezing that year, we have a picture from splash mountain where everyone is wearing winter coats, hats and scarves. Best picture ever!!

Oh I know!! LOVE IT!! We have stayed on the club level both times we stayed there. In January 2015 we are staying at BLT on DVC points... but we wanted to head back in October 2015 to do MNSSHP. We were bouncing ideas around but our hearts truly belong to Wilderness Lodge... Our daughter will be 4 by then and Old Faithful will make things so much easier... will be nice to take her to same resort that we stayed on our honeymoon. I think she will have a ton of fun there.

Well, pooh. Did not realize they didn't start as early as the parks. Still the Wilderness Lodge. Still can't wait to get there.
Last holiday visit we attended MNSSHP one night and was taking pictures in front of Christmas decorations the next.

We got married in February also! Little did we know back then it is Disney's Peak ($$$$) season on room rates, lol. We were just getting started as Disney Fans and didn't realize. We always joke that if we would have known about the seasons, we would have gotten married a week or two earlier. :rotfl:
So now we usually don't go on our anniversary day. Always a week later.

Does anyone know if there are laundry facilities close to the hidden springs pool?

Hubby usually swims with the girls while I do the laundry, so it was great for us that the pool was so close to roaring forks and the laundry room, I am wondering how our plans will change now :confused3

I don't know where the laundry room in the main building is located, but it's not that long of a walk between the two areas, particularly of you use the steps up to the covered path (by the bus stop) to get back to the main building.

Just a heads up, the Laundry room in the Villas is for DVC members and folks staying in the Villas only. There are a very limited number of machines there, and in my experience usually only half the driers are working at any given time. Sigh.
