Hi all,
We are booked at the WL 11/9-11/15. Not having a pool does not concerning me so much this trip as it will just be my DH and me, but wondering how bad the view will be from a court view room? I don't plan to hang out in the room much, but DH's idea of a good vacation is sitting in one spot for as long as possible.

A lot depends on where your room is located. We were in room 5055 last January. This room looks down on the inner, upper courtyard and is close to the lobby.

Here is the view from the balcony when looking down and a little to the right:

And looking straight forward:

And here is our view of the geyser, which I could only get by hanging over the balcony a little:

As you can see, the view from a room like this wouldn't really be affected too much by the pool construction. You can barely see the pool area.

A room that is lower down in the north and south wings would see the construction, but I would think that only the first and maybe the second floors might really be impacted by it. And the lake would still look just as lovely even if the pool was being worked on.
:)

For those who e-mailed guest services about the pool convenience did you receive responses? If so, after how many days? I'm rather surprised that it has been 8 days with no response on my end.

Hay KOOK! Have a GREAT Time!!! Say Hi :wave2: to everyone at OFC. Give Loyda a Hug  from Italia!!

The new thread is Perfect!! :thumbsup2

There wasn't anything available for the YC when I looked :)
BC is fine, and I am spoiling him by staying there.
Plus he doesn't know about the CL upgrade yet ;) I think I will surprise him when we arrive haha
Ah,Food and Wine will cut availability...keep looking last minute things open up sometimes :rolleyes1
We loved the BC:cloud9:

Excellent idea…a YC-CL WL-CL split. Brilliant!

You are a first responder! Almost time to hit the (really wet) road. UGH. The suitcases are going to get soggy which will make Mickey very sad.
 Safe travels!!!! Mickey won't mind a little sprinkle!!

Thanks I will look.
:thumbsup2

Hi all...just got back home on Monday from an excellent trip to WDW and WL. We were in room 5144, a Woods View w/ Bunk Beds. I was wondering if anyone else finds the WL beds as horrible as we did. The mattresses are rock hard with no pillow top and the pillows are flat with no support.

I travel a fair amount on business and found these to be the worst beds I have slept on in years. Did we just get an unlucky room with worn-out beds or are all the beds in WL as bad?

Maybe just a bad room?
I find the beds at WL pretty comfortable for a hotel. I find when I stay at a Moderate, we stayed at AoA and CBR in May and whoa...ROCK HARD and only 2 pillows per bed.

We found the beds at WL to be firm, but we slept well. Maybe just a matter of preference? Our last stay prior to WL was at AOA where the bed was ridiculously HARD!

Not a big deal, but I thought 5144 was a CV room on the south wing facing the villas?

Wondering about the distance to walk to the villa quiet pool? Short walk? (I will have a 6, 3,2 y/o with me ). And from the pictures I have seen.. Just a basic rectangle small pool?

We have always found the beds at WL a bit hard too, but are used to a Tempurpedic, so there is never a fair comparison. Next to non-Disney resort hotels though, I find them comfortable. But I like firm.
Did you try all the pillows? I find that there are usually a few flat pillows and a few fluffy pillows. Extras are on the top shelf of the closet usually.

It's small, but not rectangular. Rounded edges and a couple bubbling jets at one end. It's nice, but small. I'm a bit concerned as to how busy it'll be if they're referring everyone to the villas pool.

Are they harder than say the Poly or BC beds?? I always found them comfortable at those 2 resorts, but then again, those are the only 2 we've tried so far...2 new ones this trip - POR and WL

Sorry, can't help you there. February will be our first stay at a resort other than WL or AKL. Trying BC for the first time. Nervous about it! But if it helps, WL and AKL beds/pillows seem similar. Maybe it's a Deluxe resort thing? :confused3

Thank you so much! Those are some great ideas. My daughter is 8. I think the horseback would be awesome and if they'll let her do archery, she'd freak! I was thinking about trying the kayaks or the little power boats you can rent.

:cool1: Yay!!! I am so happy I could help!

Tell me about it, but first, let me tell you... I got up a little earlier than usual (0415) in hopes of re-posting before I headed out. I log in to the DIS and receive an error message that the "database can't be found" (like a 404 error, but worse) and I started panicking. Luckily, the database was "found":confused3 and the site re-appeared about a half hour later. Then, I scrambled to copy/paste/re-post all 21 posts, and in my haste, re-posted post 17 twice. Had to go back and delete all subsequent posts then copy/paste-re-post again. I feel bad though because usually I edit the information and/or photos before re-posting, but I don't have the time so I'll do that next month.

Wow! I had no idea! Thank you so much for all of your hard work! I hope you are having a FABULOUS time at the most magical place on earth! pixiedust:

5144 is in the South Wing facing the Villas, making it a Woods View room. Here's a picture from the balcony:

And from the walkway between the Lodge and the Villas:

I'm also spoiled from an iComfort bed and pillows but even comparing the WL beds/pillows to the Best Western we stopped at in Tallahassee the WL loses. And comparing WL to the Hilton/Marriott/Starwood hotels I stay in for business they fall woefully short - IMHO. I'm mostly a side sleeper and several times a night I'd wake up with an arm numb. Given the guest experience level Disney tries to achieve with service and ambiance, you'd think they'd pay more attention to the most important part of a hotel room.

Other than the beds, we had no other complaint. Front Desk/Concierge, Bell Services, Maid Service, Transportation, etc... were all top notch.
