Hi all - new here! This November will be our first visit to the WL - and a deluxe resort! I'm so excited!

My question is this - if we arrive on 11/11 (staying until 11/16) what are the chances of seeing some Christmas at the lodge? (Especially the beautiful tree that is put in the lobby?) I'd hate to miss out.

Thanks in advance - and can't wait to read this ENTIRE thread!:thumbsup2

Sometime that weeknd it could be put up.. I have seen it appear around the 15th. Thanksgiving is late this year, so not sure if that will still hold true

I see the room views on the first few pages but would love to see more. If it's allowed would love to see some pictures if anyone has any? Staying courtyard view so that would be fabulous to see. Thanks in advance : )

You are going to LOVE it!!! We see the tree at the Lodge every year and it's just Amazing!!! The decor and Christmas music all around the parks are great, you're going to have a great time! Enjoy!!!
Thank you!!!!
SOOOOOO THRILLED!

This will be our second stay at the WL:yay: My son, his wife and boys will also be there. This is their first time staying on site. I am debating upgrading them to CL because they are celebrating their anniversary. I don't know much about CL but what I see in the beautiful pics on the first page. Can someone let me know if besides the CL lounge food are the beer and wine also complimentary? Also is CL just on the one floor and can you still request an inner court yard view?
Thank you:flower3:

Yes the beer and wine are complimentary. They serve it in the club between 5-7 each evening, but if you would like one earlier, you can ask and they may have it available. Between 8-10 they put out dessert and complimentary cordials. They also have wine between 8-10.

Almost all of the club level rooms are on the 7th floor with the exception of a few deluxe rooms. You can absolutely request an inner courtyard view.

I have stayed Club level at WL many times. It is my favorite and the cast members are the absolute BEST.

Hello! Just booked our room here for 9/1 through 9/7. I had previously booked a Nemo suite at AofA, but switched here and took advantage of free dining. It is our family's first Disney Vacation! I just booked a standard view because I wasn't concerned about trying to see anything special from the room. It will be me, DH, DD6, DS1, and my mom. So excited!
We are also staying Sept 1-7!!!! Yaaayyy! We have never stayed at Wilderness Lodge, so I'm excited. Have fun on your first trip there. I'm sure it won't be your last!

We were in the south view. I found a fewof photos, 2 were from nighttime and one of the geyser and one of our room window looking up.

I will post what I have when everything finishes uploading on photobucket! :)

Question for those who stay club level at WL - do you tend to eat solely at the club or do you eat in the parks too? I've heard people do both but I'm wondering if that's really feasible it acceptable. I mean, do people really go and eat dinner there if they are lighter eaters or is that frowned upon ? Just trying to figure what will work best for us. Thank you!
If I were you, I would definitely plan on sampling the wonderful appetizers between 5-7. There is a generous and varied amount and I think you'll be surprised.

Generally, we eat breakfast in the lounge, and a few TS breakfasts out at our favorites like Trail's End. We then use TiW for an early afternoon TS meal and have a plate (or two;)) of appetizers after 5 in the lounge. Sometimes we skip apps. and instead eat dinner at Territory Lounge. You can order meals from AP there. Then, we have some cobbler after 8. This works well for us and we really enjoy the after 5 offerings so we prefer usually having our largest meal in the afternoon, and OFC apps. sort of become our "lunch" in the evening.

We will be staying club for first time in Oct. I thought food available was more for snacking and we have ADRs for dinners. Was hoping to be able to have dessert later in evening and take advantage of light breakfasts. We actually have reg. DDP as well does anyone do that?

Really just wanted to try Club level to see what it's like.
You're going to love the OFC:goodvibes. Between 5-7 the offerings are quite generous and substantial. In the afternoon it really is just a few snacks. While breakfast doesn't include any hot items (other than toasting something;)), you can very easily fill yourself up if you'd like. CL is great because it makes it so easy to grab some breakfast and you start the day off by seeing all the wonderful OFC CMs.

We will be at WL from September 1-7!!!! It's our second trip there, went in 2012 and stayed at at AKL. This is our first time at WL and we are stoked! 118 days to go!
I'll add your dates to our Lodgers' Log:)

Thanks for the welcome! Glad to be here. I will try to help where I can. :)

Yes, the regular coffee should be available all day.

It's funny, there is some getting used to the new machine. Many guests seem to think it is the "regular" coffee machine even though the cast informs them that it is an espresso/cappuccino machine. They are baffled when it only turns out a half of a cup.

The machine is really nice. I think there are four different style pods. Each have a nice distinct flavor. I have tried them all. And you can choose the amount of water you need for the strength you need. Makes an amazing cup of cappuccino. I think you will all enjoy this new machine. :coffee:
Maybe the CMs will have to put out those little teeny tiny espresso cups so guests have full cups;). The machine sounds like what they've had for years at the Atrium Club. Does it look like this?

Get on it girl!! :goodvibes I think that planning is the best.

So, do you usually pick the same color MB or do you like to switch them up. I love the people who come and have different or pet names inside theirs.

Territory Lounge is wonderful, isn't it :thumbsup2
I'm embarrassed to admit that I'm really only ordering more MBs in hopes of somehow getting one of the Seven Dwarfs Mine Train-themed MBs that I saw posted in someone's blog the other day. They didn't post how/where they got it, but it was so cute. We have so many MBs for multiple room-only reservations and as AP-holders that we probably never need another until the batteries run out. And, DH doesn't use his anyway, so my ordering them seems kind of silly, doesn't it?

TL is a new favorite of ours and I can't recommend it enough. DH would hang-out there every night it he could just for the food and atmosphere. It's so nice to be able to relax in the evening, not worry about an ADR, yet order from AP if you'd like or from the TL menu. Love the bear, too. I wonder if he has a name:confused3

Just booked our first stay at wilderness lodge!!!! So excited!!
Congratulations and we know you're going to love WL.

Just booked last night with DV for the FD!! We'll be at WL 12/14-12/28. Opted for the Woods View Bunk Bed room bc of our 2 kids (DS13,DD8)...kinda worried I made a mistake by not booking a courtyard view. WL is new to us, although we have eaten there twice. Our other December stays have been at Pop and most recently AKL, both were pool view. I was leaning toward AKL again, but DH wanted to try something new so it was a toss-up between WL and Poly, but with all the construction chaos over there it was stressing me out. I know we will have an amazing trip no matter what, but please help me feel confident in our choice!!! :confused3
That's great that you were able to get FD over Christmas which is usually blacked-out for discounts. I don't think you made a mistake with your booking. If you request and get a Woods View room in the North Wing on a high floor, you can see some of Wishes. I bet the kids would love that. If you do change to a CV room, make sure you request an INNER or WL CV room so that your view will be of the WL Courtyard as opposed to the VWL pool area.

I see the room views on the first few pages but would love to see more. If it's allowed would love to see some pictures if anyone has any? Staying courtyard view so that would be fabulous to see. Thanks in advance : )
I also have some CV photos taken from the Presidential Suite. The hyperlink is in POST 1. The views are very similar to a Bear-Faced CV room. Those rooms are off the lobby and directly face the courtyard and Bay Lake, just like the two suites.

:welcome: to the DIS and the VWL/WL thread! We're honored that your first post is here and congratulations on booking your very first WDW vacation - I know it won't be your last. You've made a great choice and some of the SV rooms in the North Wing on high floors have a partial view of Wishes. Happy planning!

I just returned from a courtyard view, and I was quickly looking through the 2500 photos that I took. I may have some from the view that we had. If I can find them, I will post, but I am sure there are folks who may beat me to it :)

Now I have the fun of adding borders and such on Photopass from the 320 photos we had taken!

Then, writing the Trip Report. Anyone want to write it for me? :earboy2:
I'm going to pass on writing your TR and editing all your photos in Photobucket:scared:, but I won't pass on reading it:thumbsup2

I'm contemplating a split stay as well. We are booked at WL July 27 August 2nd. I was thinking of splitting the stay with CBR but not sure yet. Try to save some. $$ to compensate for the AP purchase.
It's our first time at WL.
I'll log your dates and just make sure to save the best for last:)

Wow 2,500 photos! Looking forward to seeing some of them and reading your trip report. Missing the Lodge.
Me, too:hug:

Booked the FD at WL today for 11/17-11/22, which includes my birthday! I have never been able to go to WDW in November/December due to my previous job, so never was there for my birthday or to see Xmas decorations. We've stayed at Pop, POFQ, ASMo 2x, Disneyland's Paradise Pier, so this is a new one for us! Soooo excited!!!

I booked a courtyard room...I really want to see that water parade!
I'll log your dates, too. Make sure to request an INNER or WL CV room so that your view will be of Bay Lake and not the VWL pool area. Some of those rooms are also CV.

Welcome to the thread! The tree/decorations went up on November 19 last year. There are Christmas photos on the second page in POST 21.

What a great dad you are for wanting to treat your son and grandkids to a CL upgrade. I think that would be a fantastic way to celebrate and what a great memory. Unless you book a Deluxe room, the STD CL rooms are all on the 7th floor as Pamela posted. The Deluxe rooms are on floors 1-6. Views are by-request only when staying CL. You can call or email the IPO after booking to put in your request. The options are: WL Courtyard View, WL and VWL Woods, and also bunk beds. At the Old Faithful Club, the beer and wine is left out from 5-10, but as Pamela said, you can request it anytime and even store some in your room fridge if you'd like. All alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages are included.

I have stayed Club level at WL many times. It is my favorite and the cast members are the absolute BEST.
ITA::yes::

Whelp, not sure when we'll be returning to the Lodge now. I had hoped to swing a long weekend sometime this year.

Just found out my husband is being deployed back to Afghanistan with his work.

I am sad because he will be over there and happy for him at the same time. Happy because we will most likely being doing DVC now.

A lot has happened since we returned on the 6th! Wish we could go back before he has to report to his new location.

Oh..I have a question!

I have never needed a King Bed in a standard room (not sure if I have even stayed in a standard room) but I am wondering..are they only available with handicap bathrooms??

There are regular king bed rooms that aren't handicapped accessible, but since a lot of the handicapped rooms are king bed, there is a good chance you'd get one just by having a king bed reservation. If you don't want a handicapped room, you might want to add that as a request.

We've seen both handicapped and non handicapped King rooms, and the biggest difference is the lack of a bath tub in the handicapped ones. Also the bathroom configuration is a little different since you don't have the wall dividing the bathroom.

Good question... I would also love to know this. ;)

Thanks!!

KOOK, I love all the love for Territory Lounge in your posts! I'm feeling nostalgic for WL and would love to try CL there - trying to figure out where to fit that into upcoming plans. A separate trip over the summer? Right before our current GF/BWI plans in January? Next year during spring break? Not sure, but my entirely tentative plans include snacks in the club lounge in the evening and then a later dinner at Territory Lounge. We LOVE it there. And knowing that my husband and kids could order a few items from Artist Point would make it perfect. (I'll be quite happy with CL snacks and then the fondue appetizer at TL - is that still there?)

That's the one! The small cups are there, there are also nice cappuccino cups. Mostly people use the "to go" cups when they are trying to use the machine. It will just take some time.

Also, those seven dwarf magic bands were given out to the attendees of the press event. Just like the e-ticket magic bands a few months ago. It would be nice if they eventually came out with them.

Another interesting resource is the WL room view thread, which has pictures from specific room numbers. It is here: http://disboards.com/showpost.php?p=27342053&postcount=1

This was a huge help ... Thank you so much very appreciate : )

That is a great link!

I was in 5135 so two floors above the 3135, so relatively the same view but just a little higher, and can see above the trees to watch the ELWP.

I was also able to see wishes above the North Side. I unfortunately didn't take any pictures of it. The first night was when I watched it, and it surprised me. The other nights we were either still out or out of it and asleep :lmao:

Re: the TL...is it kid friendly so to speak? Could you place an order to go perhaps?

Subbing to the thread as we are thinking about booking WL for our next trip, and I want to follow along to learn more! :)

Not sure about to-go, but we were there with our three boys (now ages 7, 13 and 14) last year and it was entirely comfortable. We found a space with a sofa and three chairs and ordered too many appetizers. (We were staying at Poly at the time, but CL was down for renovations, so we substituted Territory Lounge at WL!) It's one of those great Disney spots where you can order like adults and enjoy a little bit of quiet, but still spend time with your kids!

They didn't necessarily have anything specific for children, like a menu or a kids' corner, but our youngest thought the theming was cool and the variety of appetizers really appealed to him. Also fun to sit in the sofa and comfy chairs instead of at a traditional table. When our table at Artist Point was ready, we didn't want to leave our Territory Lounge spot!
