Now I'm dreaming of cobbler.......
Now you've got me daydreaming, too:cloud9:

I'm so excited! After switching resorts a few times, I have finally decided on the WL for my upcoming trip with a dear family friend's daughter (age 11)!!! It will be her first visit to WDW. I am so excited to share the magic of WDW with her. She is like a daughter to me, and I can't wait for her to experience WDW for the first time. She is so excited and can't stop talking about the trip each time I see her. We booked a courtyard view, and will be at the WL from 7/17 to 7/22. Come on July!!!
What a wonderful memory you're making for your friend's daughter. She is going to have a great time with you. I'll put your dates in the Lodgers' Log:)

I have no idea why we ever think we are not going to stay at the Lodge and fool ourselves into making a reservation at another resort. Just change our August trip BACK to the WL again. We are suckers for that place.
What were you thinking?! We knew you'd come back. Are you CL?

ETA: What are your Aug. dates?

We are staying in a 2 bedroom at VWL in about a week. It may be too late now but can anyone recommend where we should request our room (or where we don't want) or where the 2 BRs are located? Many thanks.
On page two page of the thread, in the VWL section, there is a villa number/location map. There is also a room/villa finder locator on touringplans.com

Thanks to those that answered my question! Really appreciate it. Helped me finalize my decision, for now anyway. Only 550 days til our next trip!
We'll help you pass the time:)

Does anyone know if I can either put a magnet on the outside of our hotel room door or tape something to the door to decorate it? I know you can decorate windows, but I can't seem to get a clear answer on the door... :confused3
Guests really don't decorate doors at WL. I've never really seen them decorated at any Deluxe. It could be because the doors are wood and they are interior corridors.

 what a multiquote!!

This is a night put back in...8/22-29 :)

And the kids may be running after me, I'm way excited! I just bought a new VB backpack from the Disney store with a cute cooler bag perfect for some OFC goodies!!! Your trip will be here soon, and I am sorry you've been so busy. You're kookness was missed here :)
My busy could NEVER EVER (think T. Swift) compare with your busy. It's always fun to buy something for a trip to WDW - good work!

Thank you so much for answering my question!!!

With my luck I'll end up in the ONLY studio without a balcony! However, here's hoping for some pixiedust:!

You're welcome and if you did happen to get that one Studio w/o a balcony, you could always ask to be moved. Just ask at check-in which Studio you've been assigned, even if it's not ready yet, they can tell you.

Thanks for the warm welcome WDWKOOK!

This is our first split, we are so excited :). The other 2 resorts are The Yacht Club & The Poly! It's a 3/3/2 split - WL/YC/Poly the last week in August

Time to plan another trip
Already in the works! Trying to convince DH to drive down for a Star Wars Weekend since we were there for May the 4th on this trip. We are also seriously considering DVC.

Just left Dulles, going to pick up Anna our GSD, and missing WDW already.

I will be doing a TR for this one, my first ever so I hope some of you will follow along! I will post a link to it when I start it. It's going to be a long one just because we did so much and had lots of things happen to us :)

Question for those who stay club level at WL - do you tend to eat solely at the club or do you eat in the parks too? I've heard people do both but I'm wondering if that's really feasible it acceptable. I mean, do people really go and eat dinner there if they are lighter eaters or is that frowned upon ? Just trying to figure what will work best for us. Thank you!

YMMV but at AKL concierge I did not feel scrutinized. Breakfast was certainly enough to compare to any place that serves continental and was adequate. In DL we stayed club level at the Sheraton Park. DDs were starving by the time they put out drinks and appetizers, and we certainly did make a meal most nights (though light). At least that property had no issues with us eating and drinking our fill. We did this more out of necessity than intention. We kept trying to get back to a restaurant, but hungry and exhausted kids dictated otherwise.

We will be staying club for first time in Oct. I thought food available was more for snacking and we have ADRs for dinners. Was hoping to be able to have dessert later in evening and take advantage of light breakfasts. We actually have reg. DDP as well does anyone do that?

Really just wanted to try Club level to see what it's like.

Booked for CL right now, but thinking of dropping it if we go to a split stay. It's an extra $300 for 4 nights and I'm not sure that's worth it for the light breakfast and afternoon snacks/drinks...(we'll most likely be in the parks in the evenings when they have the apps and dessert)...still not sure...

Oh... I thought it was "a thing" like the DCL... they decorate doors like crazy over there!!! :dance3:

We will be at WL from September 1-7!!!! It's our second trip there, went in 2012 and stayed at at AKL. This is our first time at WL and we are stoked! 118 days to go!

We are staying CL this trip...no DP.

I booked CL for the option of breakfast ,the IPO, and location of rooms.

My plan is to utilize CL for breakfast on a few days... we have a couple ADR's for breakfast booked also so it won't be every day.

I have an ADR for dinner every night, we are dinner people and need that meal every day and CL would not be enough to replace this meal for us, snacks and lunch will more than likely come from the parks, unless we are at the hotel pool, break, etc. and want something to munch on.

You're too funny:rotfl2:. KOOK may need some fresh batteries (nuclear?) as she's been woefully behind lately. When IS your next trip to the OFC??

!

LOL I just asked DH if we would still stay OFC if we travel solo. He looked at me like I was KOOKy :rotfl2: We're working on it...maybe Dec or if not, next year definitely! If we go solo, perhaps BWI, but that's another thread.

:hyper:

See below (I tend to work backwards :rotfl:). There are 4 of us, DH and I, DD 20 and DS 18. We really love the peacefulness OFC in the morning before going to the parks. We are not big breakfast eaters so,this works well for us. (DS is a XC runner and usually puts in a 7-10 mile run each morning so having food at his fingertips when he returns has always been a huge + .)We almost always return mid-day and DS especially loves the snacks (try the homemade chips w/ ranch dressing) just waiting for him as he exits the elevators...:). Also, we prefer to enjoy the evening offerings most nights than spend 1 1/2 hours at a TS.

OFC has wonderful food offerings at various times throught the day. Our favs are, well... Everything. Breakfast is more than adequate for us. We even skipped out one 'big breakfast' day. The evening offerings are enough, IMHO, for a lite dinner. We switched between this strategy and then getting something to share in the parks if we were hungry and having dinner at TS. More often than not we enjoyed OFC too much to pass on it. And if you want to talk dessert...:goodvibes. Lastly, nothing beats a nice glass of wine waiting for you at the end of a delightful day!

Note:, if you do DDP as well as any CL, you will have an insane amount of food to figure out what to do with.

I am 6 pages behind here - again:flower3:. I'm going to have to take it page-by-page. Life has been rudely getting in the way of the DIS and vacation planning:sad2:. This morning, DH announced that he's excited to be going back to the OFC and Territory Lounge next month:goodvibes. Then, I realized that I haven't ordered more MBs, contacted the IPO or made all ADRs

Don't you hate when life gets in the way....:sad2:

Now get busy with the fun stuff!;)

:welcome: to the DIS and the WL/VWL thread, livinatthelodge. We're honored that your first post is here and we hope it's not your last. If your username is any indication of reality, I am VERY envious:worship:

Thank you for the complete information on the coffee. I'm one of the possible few who are sad to see the old Nescafe machine go, even with the blacked-out numbers;). Do you know if the regular coffee urn will make an all-day appearance now that it's no longer available via the machine?

Thanks for the welcome! Glad to be here. I will try to help where I can. :)

Yes, the regular coffee should be available all day.

It's funny, there is some getting used to the new machine. Many guests seem to think it is the "regular" coffee machine even though the cast informs them that it is an espresso/cappuccino machine. They are baffled when it only turns out a half of a cup.

The machine is really nice. I think there are four different style pods. Each have a nice distinct flavor. I have tried them all. And you can choose the amount of water you need for the strength you need. Makes an amazing cup of cappuccino. I think you will all enjoy this new machine. :coffee:

Get on it girl!! :goodvibes I think that planning is the best.

So, do you usually pick the same color MB or do you like to switch them up. I love the people who come and have different or pet names inside theirs.

Territory Lounge is wonderful, isn't it :thumbsup2

We are a family of 5 but my youngest is under 3. Will they let the 5 of us stay in a standard room at WL? Thanks so much!

Hey guys! I booked a vacation at Wilderness Lodge Villas. I am not a DVC member. Will I still check in at the main lodge or do I head straight to the villas to check in?

You would go to the main WL building to check in. There isn't a check in desk in the villas building. :)
