Haven't been around much and hope that everyone is doing well.

Kook, if you could remove our August trip that would be great. We are still going, but we are giving the Poly a shot this time around.

We are definitely going to be staying at the WL in November. No worries there. That will be my sons 16 year old birthday celebration trip.

Has anyone stayed in the remodeled studio? For sure sleeping 5 with the murphy bed, or just 4?

We returned from our first VWL stay on Thursday. We were in room 4533, the studio w/o a balcony. We had three of us (me, DH, DD age 3) and we had plenty of room. There is a queen bed, a pullout sofa (I'm guessing a queen) and Murphy bed where the table is (twin). Honestly, we never even pulled the Murphy bed down since our table was always junked up. I think you could comfortably sleep five if the majority of your party was kids but sleeping is the only thing that would be comfortable. Otherwise, bathroom, kitchenette, living area, etc would be tight for five. I didn't even take any pictures of the room because I was so disappointed about the no balcony, I was pouting anytime we were in the room. :)

Thank you WDWKOOK for the welcome and adding us to the list. August came cannot come soon enough!

Random Sunday thoughts: I was watching our video of our first family trip (Polynesian 1990) and the room we got was in Bora Bora(now called Niue). Upon arrival it was pouring rain, so we opened the sliding glass door to a non-balcony, my DD ( 4 months before her 4th birthday) and I sat cross-legged on the floor watching the rain and the people running to and from the GCH and we just enjoyed being there. We had some minor bumps in our short visit(4 days!) but there was such joy at simply being there and that hasn't changed in 24 years. What has changed is my feelings about the importance of what building or room I get and the planning involved for meals and the parks. I am going to try to keep that image of my DD and me enjoying the simple things ( and the huge hug she gave me while we sat on the floor looking at the fish at the Living Seas because she was overcome with happiness) whenever I start to stress out about our upcoming August trip. My 2 cents. :)

The VWL photo links are at the top of Post 2 HERE.

Thanks! They look great! Putting an offer in on a DVC resale this week - hoping to use some points this year yet at VWL!!

What time were you there? It was only DH, DD and I that morning. We sat at 7:30!! Wonder if we saw you?????

We probably missed you, our ADR was for 9am. I love Kona!

We aren't going in August anymore either. Just changed to June due to a conflict. I'll remove you and let us know how you liked the Poly. I know there is a lot of construction going on and I'd be interested in your comments.

That was very sweet and I know your August trip is going to be magical.

Congratulations!

what is the best way to request a certain room? Should I fax, call the resort. Or call WDW regular line.

Thanks

Getting excited we leave in a week.

The best way to add room requests is to call the main reservations line and have them added to your reservation. Do it soon as the room assigners get the reservations around 4-5 days prior to your arrival.

Happy First DST Monday…my brain thinks it's only 0430:faint:
Some December photos to awaken you...

If these rooms actually do sleep 5, why doesn't the website allow it to be booked with 5 guests? It shows up available for my dates if I put in 4 guests, but if I put in 5 guests it kicks me to a 2 BR villa?

TIA!

They might be waiting until they are all renovated

A while back we were looking forward to the September operating calendar coming out and I posted a link to where it had been for the last couple of years. After it didn't show up there, I went looking around and found that the link changed slightly, but the September Calendar is available. The corrected link is: http://media.disneywebcontent.com/StaticFiles/ParkHours/WDWTravelAgent_September.pdf

Those of you waiting for October and future months might want to look at this new link structure, as it seems they have changed from using month abbreviations to the whole month in the link.
