Well, I'm almost completely packed :banana:

And, yes I made yet another ADR change late yesterday (I just can't help myself)!!!

Can't wait to really experience WL :thumbsup2.

The next 3 days are going to crawl by.......

Looking for some advice. We arrive at WL on May 24th and are staying for 3 weeks having stretched to our financial limit.its our third stay and we cannot wait however I am really concerned about being given a North wing standard view next to the air con and delivery area. We could not afford courtyard view and have been told there was no woods view available so we had to book standard. I have requested a south wing room. I'm really not bothered about a view as such, it's more the noise element, I'm a very light sleeper and if I get stuck in a north wing standard for 3 weeks I fear the worst. I was reading a report where a family were placed in one of these rooms and no assistance was given to move them. If we end up in one of these rooms would or could they feasibly make us stay there for the whole 3 weeks !! I'm not even looking for any upgrade, just a bit of quiet. Would I have any options if this happens.

Thanks in advance

Just curious, did you try and check on woods View rooms maybe a day after you arrive? That way you would only be in the Standard View room for 1 or 2 nights, then move to the other?

Apparently they just did not have the same woods view room for a 21 night stay, not sure about availability the day after arrival or any other day. Would rather not have to jump about rooms if possible. I'm not normally one to complain but would simply not be able to sleep in one of these rooms above the air con units and delivery area. The problem is it looks like the majority of the standard rooms are located there with fewer in the south wing. Really do not want to move as we love WL but this is a worry.

I'm a light sleeper also, so I understand!!!

I hope it all works out for you.

I'm kinda jealous that you get to spend 21 days at Disney :rotfl2:.....is that bad????

Thanks, unless we can somehow pay to upgrade to courtyard view I may move resort. It seems the odds are stacked heavily that it would be a north wing room.

Can someone up on things let me know an update on the VWL refurb? I have a friend staying there mid april in a 2 BR and I wondered if it will be done by then?

Are the regular rooms undergoing refurbishment also?

TIA!

I am getting so excited for our March CL trip! My husband will be so surprised to find us at WL! A few quick questions for the experts please. Will I be able to bring a beer or two to sit by the pool in the afternoon from the lounge? Also, I've requested a quiet room (alas, I am not a great sleeper..sigh) any thoughts as to where that might put us? Can we watch the water pageant from the pool area? I am thinking of reservations for lunch on the day we leave...where shall we have our farewell lunch? Thank you all for all the info...so happy that we can be at the Lodge!!
Just adding that the styrofoam cups with lids are located in the top drawer underneath the beverage area. In terms of requesting a quiet CL location, they might try to place you in a Woods View room furthest from the lounge area and/or a WV room without a connecting door.

So, we are staying at the Villas in a studio this May. Is the Villa refurb for all the studios? Just wondering if we would need to call to request one of the rooms that fits 5 since we may have an additional adult coming with us at the last minute. Could've sworn I saw somewhere that the studio refurb would be completed in March, so I would think we shouldn't worry about it...prob just overthinking this, right?:scratchin
All VWL rooms are being rehabbed and they're projected to be completed by the end of March. There is a VWL update with new photo links HERE.

Due to the Ebates/Orbitz deals, we are considering changing our reservation from POR to WL. Are we really missing anything if we book just a standard view room?
Welcome to the thread!

I'm joining in.... Our family will be staying at VWL for 2 nights in August. It's the second part of our split stay (we're also staying at BWV and AKV) and will be the first time we stay here. I hope to learn as much as possible so we can get the most out of our stay!
What a great split stay! Let us know if you have any questions.

:wave2: Kook

Ok, seriously, pay absolutely no attention to me!!!! I'm on a resort carousel right now!!!
I saw you spinning on the CR and RC thread. Sooo…The kids chose Zebra Domes even though they can't have balloons? You can have all the balloons you'd like at WL and CR:stir:

Can anyone give me an idea of how crowded Roaring Forks will be around 4:30-5 PM during spring break? I am trying to figure out how to do our evenings after a swim / rest break with my 5 year old. Going to return to the parks in the evening for a few hours (not super late), and I don't know if I should eat at WL or get something in the park. Priority is decent food that is quick, so we can maximize park time.
Spring break can be in both March and April depending on where you live. Ours is always the week before Easter. This helps to spread out the crowds and since our SB is during a blacked-out period for discounts, it seemed less crowded at the resort. Also, many people seem to eat later on vacation, so Roaring Fork shouldn't be too bad before 5. But, because it doesn't have ordering kiosks, lines at breakfast and dinner can get long, but in general, the lines are longer at breakfast.

Add us to the log account. Hubby has a conference, so he said we could go again. June 12-15. I think he's lost his mind, but that's good for us! I think he missed see what a great trip the girls and I had in september.
I shall inscribe your dates into the Lodgers' Log:)

Add my dates, too, please :teeth: June 7-14 WL CL

We're just a little excited.... :dancer:
I shall make your dates official, Heather and I won't even have to use my magical erasing quill as I don't recall you ever changing your reservations after booking or have you?

We're staying at Wilderness Lodge for the first time in May! We also scored 8:05 pre rope drop reservations at Crystal Palace. Is the bus our best/only option to the MK that early? Do we need to advise anyone that we need to go early?

Thanks!
Welcome! Just adding that there is also an early ADR BUS. As dansdad posted, it starts at 0630.

Since you want to remain in the same room for 3 weeks, this suggestion might not help, but have you thought about a split stay? You could remain in the same resort area if you book a VWL/WL split. Maybe you could time VWL for when you need to do laundry;)

Only VWL is getting a hard goods rehab. WL received a soft goods rehab in 2012. VWL rehab details and photos are located in Post #2 HERE.

Gosh I love this place!! We checked in yesterday and omg I love the new rooms!

We have reservations tonight at Ohana, can we hop on the Hollywood studios bus? If I remember from a few years ago, it stopped at the Poly, is that still the case?

We knew you'd love it. Welcome home! None of the buses were stopping at the Poly in December and August. Some did stop at GF though. You could take the boat to the MK and then the boat to the Poly or you can ask the bus driver to make sure he/she is going to the GF, then walk to the Poly from there. You can also take the Blue Flag boat to CR and take the monorail to the Poly if it's running before your ADR.

Thanks! We were on the animal kingdom bus yesterday and it went to GF so we might do that...also super convenient for our ADR at 1900 park fare! Lol

First, let me say that I've learned a lot from this thread and am excited to report that we made a reservation for our first family Disney trip (and mine since 1990) from 11/15 to 11/22. Yeah!!

Second, my one concern with WL is the size of the rooms. With all 4 of us and a stroller, it will be tight. Will WL store our luggage for us outside the room. If not, has anyone been able to slide them under the beds? I've been successful with that in other hotel rooms.

Thanks!!

:rotfl: So true, so true. And my goodness, how you do like to stir the pot;)....(keep stirring. She'll eventually crack!)

Nope! No changes for me, so no magical erasing quill for you :teeth: I can now rest with ease since my dates are official on the Lodger's Log....with quote attached, I might add :thumbsup2 Thank you so kindly.

We were not able to access the space under the bed. We did fine storing luggage in the bottom of the closet though, and parked the stroller either in the open space in the bathroom in front of one of the sinks (it really is a good sized area) or in front of the connecting door next to the TV. There is also some area between the near bed and the bathroom wall or the far bed and the outside wall where we also sat suitcases.
While the rooms are smaller than some deluxe resorts, they are generally bigger than moderates and values. Congratulations and enjoy your trip.

I'll be staying at WL May 27th through June 4th. I've only briefly been to DHS so this is really my first trip to Disney World. I'm very excited and glad that we chose WL.

This thread is so informative! Based on what I've read, I've requested a room with a view of the otter pond.

Well, we made the decision and changed our reservation over to the Boardwalk Inn. It is just going to be more convenient for this trip. If you could take us off this list. WDWKook, I noticed you are doing the BWI board as well. Can you add us over there, or do I need to request on that board? October 4-12.

Thanks for helping with my previous questions everyone :goodvibes

Is it possible to get from the TTC direct to WL? We are hoping to watch the MNSSHP fireworks from the dock.... Has any one else done this?

Also how busy does Roaring Forks get at breakfast?

Our dates are now confirmed as 10th September to 25th September. It will be our first time staying at the WL :cool1:

Thanks
Nikki
