Thanks for helping with my previous questions everyone :goodvibes Is it possible to get from the TTC direct to WL? We are hoping to watch the MNSSHP fireworks from the dock.... Has any one else done this? Also how busy does Roaring Forks get at breakfast? Our dates are now confirmed as 10th September to 25th September. It will be our first time staying at the WL :cool1: Thanks Nikki

We tried to watch Wishes from the dock last night and couldn't see anything. Trees were blocking all but the highest explosions. As for roaring fork, walked by it this morning and it was jam packed at about 745am.

Unfortunately it takes two modes of transportation to get to the TTC. We like taking the boat to CR then monorail to TTC, but have also done it with two boat rides via MK.

Wishes isn't very visible from the boat dock but if you happen to be on a boat to/from MK during it you will get a good view. The EWP is nicely viewed from the dock though.

Roaring Fork does get busy at breakfast. We get around this by having one of us run down and get breakfast and bring it back up to the room.

You are fortunate to be going at a very low crowd time of year. We have gone during that week each of the last two years and were impressed with the lack of crowds. We saw that there were always some open tables at Roaring Fork, and even saw it totally empty a couple of times, but this is definitely not the norm. Enjoy your trip!

I am here now and did notice buses to TTC but that could be because the monorail is down during the day.

Another change!! :-X The announcement of F&W dates has made us push back our WDW dates to Sept. 16-22, and US Sept. 22-24. Can't wait!!

That is something different, but kind of neat. Are the Epcot monorails running? That would be a different way to get to Epcot, or to walk to Poly I suppose.

All right people, please help calm me down. I just read on a DVC thread that the noise issues and no water during the day are still a big issue at VWL.

We arrive in 2 weeks and will be back at the resort each day for a nap for my little guy. I'm super stressed about him not being able to nap with all of the construction noise. If he can't get a nap in those days, it will be a DISASTER!

Also, in regards to the no water from 10-5...are there showers/bathrooms by either pool area? We have early dinner reservations and would normally shower after pool time before going to dinner.

I feel like our trip (which is planned so perfectly!) is falling to pieces very quickly.

I rented DVC points so switching is not an option...just trying to figure out how to make the best of it. :(

Any ideas and suggestions are welcome. :)

First, let me say that I've learned a lot from this thread and am excited to report that we made a reservation for our first family Disney trip (and mine since 1990) from 11/15 to 11/22. Yeah!!

Second, my one concern with WL is the size of the rooms. With all 4 of us and a stroller, it will be tight. Will WL store our luggage for us outside the room. If not, has anyone been able to slide them under the beds? I've been successful with that in other hotel rooms.

Thanks!!
Welcome to the thread and I'll log your dates in Post 2. Not sure if this is a viable option, but if it's a smaller stroller could you collapse it and store it flat on the balcony? If you are storing and retrieving your stroller daily from Bell Services you would be tipping daily, but IDK if guests store them.

I'll be staying at WL May 27th through June 4th. I've only briefly been to DHS so this is really my first trip to Disney World. I'm very excited and glad that we chose WL.

This thread is so informative! Based on what I've read, I've requested a room with a view of the otter pond.
Welcome to the DIS and the VWL/WL thread! I'll log your dates and I'm glad you've found the thread helpful.

Checking in today! Eeeek :)
We'd love an update if you get a chance. Hope you're having fun!

Well, we made the decision and changed our reservation over to the Boardwalk Inn. It is just going to be more convenient for this trip. If you could take us off this list. WDWKook, I noticed you are doing the BWI board as well. Can you add us over there, or do I need to request on that board? October 4-12.
You know, you could always do a split stay;). I'll see you over on the BWI thread:teleport:

We are going Nov. 9 - Nov. 21 WL CL for the first time!
Congratulations and I'll put your dates in the Lodgers' Log.

Our dates are now confirmed as 10th September to 25th September. It will be our first time staying at the WL :cool1:

Thanks
Nikki
I'll make your dates even more official, Nikki:surfweb:

Great to know about Wishes viewing from the dock and you'd think this would be a really quiet time of the year so the big crowd at RF surprises me, but maybe it's always like that at breakfast:confused3. They really need those ordering kiosks.

I am here now and did notice buses to TTC but that could be because the monorail is down during the day.
That's interesting. I hope your first full day is great and :bday::cake: to your DD.

My eraser if ready:)

Yes, the Epcot monorail is running, but the MK and Express monorails are not running until after 7 PM through the end of March.

I completely understand your concern and worry. Maybe someone who is there now could verify what the current water outage schedule is. I thought that someone who was there this month reported that the water issue was only for a day while they were there:confused3. There is a shower and nice locker room in the Sturdy Branches bathroom:

Seeing that the 5th floor is done and they're now working on the 4th, it might be done when you're there. Maybe you could request the "highest floor" or a rehabbed room and at least any noise would be below rather than above you and you would have a brand new villa:cloud9:

Thanks! I did not know about that bathroom. That will work out well. I did go and change my requests for a high floor so I guess we'll see what we get.

You know what they say...the best laid plans...grrr.

I'm trying to make my reservation online but I can't seem to find a place to type in room request for high floor facing otter pond. It only has two options to select, connecting room or crib. So, what do I do now?

Welcome to the DIS and the WL thread! Just call the WDTC/CRO and add your requests to your reservation.

Happy planning!

:yay:
How could cute Italia not stay CL? You can't keep her away from Loyda so you have to apply a pin soon;). Now get thee to a ticker!

ETA: And, don't forget to change your signature:hyper:

KOOK!!! So excited I forgot to THANK YOU!!!
Happy to add your dates (and anyone else's) anytime:hug:

BTW, our dates overlap now:), but I may have to change to June. It gets harder to schedule vacations far in advance the older DD gets.

That would be fun if they overlapped! I have 2 years till Middle School with DD, then I am sure we will begin to have problems with planning too.

Let's hope for a little pixiedust: for a great code! We are trying to surprise Italia this year, she thinks we can't swing any trip. I know I won't make it 6 months :rolleyes1

Hi :) Just booked a one day stay at WL CL Standard Room with an AP discount on 3/27, we are then headed to AKV CL in a Deluxe Studio from 3/28-4/5 :)

We thought it would be fun to check out WL CL.

What are the standard rooms CL like and is there anything special I should watch out for? It is our first stay at Wilderness Lodge.

Thanks :)

.

Checked in yesterday and was very pleased to be shown to a room with a bunk bed for my DS ( a last minute request on his part). CL has been great. Checked in by Mike who is so friendly! Balloons and a card were in the room last night when we returned from Magic Kingdom and they graciously found a ginger ale for us this morning when one of my boys had an upset belly. Relaxed in the pool this morning and now we are at Epcot. Oh, and they do have oatmeal in the lounge (a question some had last year).
