Thanks for the info, we reserved a courtyard view and bunk beds, but that part doesn't really matter, we are 2 adults and a just turned 12 year old daughter, celebrating our 5 th anniversary. If we request a bear face room on floor 5, and they don't have any with bunk beds, will that not be an option? Courtyard with bunk beds was the only type left with the discount. We are staying at BC from 12/2-12/8 in a garden view room, and then moving to WL from 12/8-12/13, we couldn't get the 30% discount for the whole stay at WL, so we split it up, this is a once in a lifetime trip for us. I'm sure we will return but not for a while and not for this length of time. We would have loved to do a deluxe room, my man is a big guy so the more space the better, but we'd rather be there longer ultimately. I think our travel agent requested a full balcony, I don't think I want to online check in, I still like the person to person thing for something like this, do I stop by, call, fax, or all 3?
Since you don't want bunks, I'd keep checking for non-bunk CV availability online. If it shows up then you could switch and save a few bucks.

You will still wait in a line with a real, live person behind the desk for OCI. And, if you have any room location changes that need to be made, issues, etc… they will defer to another person who will help you. However, OCI will not let you make a Bear Face room request. It only allows you to choose from floors 1-6 and near an elevator. You don't have to choose any of those though. You can do it simply to input your credit card information and have your info. packet prepared in advance.

We were able to get 35% off both the spring and the fall trips. I had the rack rates written down, and then what they were with 30% off and 35% off and the price quoted to me for both was 35% off. Still amazes me that we got 35% off the boys spring break, and included Easter Sunday. However, he goes to a private special needs school so his break may be totally different than others.

Our first trip is a regular room, courtyard view....but our November trip is Club Level. Of course, if I can tweek our budget, we may just swing Club Level in April as well!
Your break is one week after ours so ours is usually blacked-out. But, in 2012 I was able to check-in a day before the black-out and have our 40% discount applied the entire stay. You've given me hope! I hope you'll be able to upgrade to CL for your April trip:goodvibes

Well, after a few months of planning/worrying/researching, we officially changed resorts yesterday from the Poly to WL. I have to say we're all a lot more excited now, so that makes me feel like we made the right choice. Plus we'll get 2 (hopefully adjoining) rooms now instead of trying to cram into one and for a better price to boot! I'm a little sad to give up that TPV CL room but maybe we can visit the poly in the future when all the work is done. Ita funny because I was convinced we needed the monorail with babies but I'm not that worried about it anymore. It's our first time staying deluxe and it will be the first disney property stay for my sister and BIL (and our LOs).
Congratulations! You're going to love having everything under one roof at WL. If you want a connecting door in between rooms, ask for connecting rooms. Adjoining rooms are next to each other, but have no connecting door.

This may be your first Deluxe stay, but I bet it won't be your last;). Let us know if you have any questions.

Is this something anyone can request. We went up there as a flag family before and the view was amazing. I would love to go up to watch wishes!!
Yes, anyone can request it at check-in, but it's intended (or at least it used to be) for special occasions and isn't advertised so that may be why some CMs are unaware of it. Good luck!

Staying CL is on my WDW bucket list but it's not happening this trip. I'm organizing for 9 family members ranging in age from 4 to 74 staying in three rooms. This is a first trip for my DIL's parents who are both in their 70s. They're already experiencing a bit of sticker shock with our Woods View rooms.

The focus of the trip will be on the grandkids and DIL's parents' first visit. But I'm sprinkling in little treats for myself. One of those treats will be berry cobbler and a glass of wine one night at the Territory Lounge with just my DH. No need to plan or schedule anything -- just go by when we're in the mood:goodvibes

I'm also not ready to take the grandkids to a Signature Restaurant. Whispering Canyon is much more their style;)
Sounds like some great treat sprinkling:thumbsup2

Saw a post somewhere else of a very small room at WL with one small sink in bathroom? The rooms are not like this are they? I have woods view booked.
All I can think of is that you may have seen a photo perhaps of a Handicap Accessible room? The wheelchair accessible rooms have only one sink. Is this what you saw?

And my excitement has geared up 100% from reading the new thread from the start. We arrive in less than a month and can not wait to be part of the WL family for a week. Thanks so much for all the amazing information. I look forward to seeing it in person and sharing my own photos.

SOOOOOOO EXCITED!!

We are staying club level and have requested bunkbeds but you can not reserve those in your reservation at CL so please keep your fingers crossed for us!!princess: Daughter is hoping!!
Just make sure that bunks are in your request and then ask again at check-in:)

Hi everyone! We are checking into VWL in a one-bedroom unit in less than week! :cloud9:

Can anyone confirm that there will definitely be a Pack and Play in the room without request? I am so nervous that there won't be one there when we check in, and that there won't be anything available or some other scenario. I specifically booked a one-bedroom villa because it supposedly comes with a Pack and Play without needing to request one and just hope there is one available. Our DS is 13.5 months and will not sleep in a bed with us. Also, what brand is the Pack and Play in the rooms?

A Pack 'N Play is still listed as an amenity in all villas on the Disney website so don't worry, there will be one and/or another can be requested at check-in.

Hi! Great thread, Kook! You can add us to the list for 1/3-1/10. We are so excited!
Thank you!

I'm still working to try to get out of dodge tomorrow night. . .just posting this so I can see my ticker while I wait for some files to upload. . . :rolleyes1
:yay:

Does anyone know what the closest car rental company to the Lodge is? I'm renting a car to drive to the Keys after our Disney trip and I need a car very early in the morning thus the closer the better.

Just did online check in for our arrival in a few days and can you believe that when I clicked on the room request and amenities tab up popped the options for the Coronado Springs Resort instead. My options were Cabanas, Rancheros, ground floor, fourth floor, transportation, and a few others. Ugghh can anything ever go smoothly on Disney's pathetic website. I'm sure it will turn out fine. I have given my room requests already in the past with the WL-IPO and sent IPO my request again today. I know rooms are not a guarantee, but the CSR???

Oh my.:badpc: :faint: I've read a ton of issues people on the DIS have had with the website, this is a new one for sure!

You can rent a car at the Dolphin resort.

I had an awful time making my FP+ yesterday!!! :faint: It went from excitement that I could make them, to pure frustration in a hurry!! :scared1: :crazy2:

On the bright side -- less than 2 months until WDW and our first WL stay! :cool1:

You can rent a car at the Car Care Center located near the TTC (but not walkable, as far as I know). You can call them for a complimentary shuttle to and from the Car Care Center, or you could pay for a taxi. We are renting a car for the day on our upcoming trip from Alamo located at the CCC.

Hi all! I have a quick question: we may be switching our summer reservations to the WL and I was wondering if the deluxe CL rooms were part of the discounts? From what it looks like they are 25% off for the spring. Is that the usual discount? TIA!:goodvibes

Look what came in the mail....

Yippie for your ME tags! I just received a UPS MagicBandapalooza due to 3 room-only reservations for 8 nights, (I like to maximize discounts:teacher:).

Ooooo, I hope you get Casitas 9, the Bear Face room that's close to the geyser and El Centro:rolleyes2. Is your reservation displaying correctly in your MDX account? You're not communicating with the Business Class IPO, are you?:scared:

I've had some FP+ issues, too. I left it alone for a week or two, and it was better when I came back to it.

I've never seen nor been able to apply an AP or military rate to a WL Deluxe room, so if they are actually 25% off, I think that's unusual and it might be a sign for you to book:)

I had to make some FP+ changes from my iPhone while we were on our trip. The first one entirely lost that FP+ but the kind CM at the first checkpoint listened to my explanation of the failure I had when using the app and he worked his pixiedust: with the Mickey head to give us green lights which also worked fine at the second checkpoint. He could clearly see that we only had 2 FP+ for that day and perhaps that helped give my explanation credence.

FP+ changes for 2 other days worked fine from the app when I made them. :goodvibes

The Disney website lists a 25% off rate for the spring for courtyard/club level rooms. I just assumed that would include the deluxe rooms too. Does anyone know this for sure?

The discounts aren't out yet for my dates, but I am hoping for some kind of discount available for deluxe rooms or we may have to rethink our reservations again :(

Oh, in that case, it most likely won't be included. Unfortunately, I've never been able to apply a discount to a Deluxe room at WL. Everything else is always available (except the two suites). However, that wouldn't stop me from continuing to ask if it's available. You never know, it might someday be discounted. If you need more room, have you considered a villa at VWL? You can apply discounts to them.

10 DAYS and me and my family will be at our very first trip to WDW and CHECK IN AT THE LODGE.... butterflies in my tummy!!!!!:cheer2:

Question - our first day we have early ADR at Tusker House at 8:30.
1) Will I be able to pick up my PP+ card there??? I have had mixed answers on this and I really need to have it for breakfast photos...DOES ANYONE KNOW a 100% answer to this? :flower3:
2) Is the gift shop where the pp+ is located at at Animal Kingdom open before the park? :goodvibes

OH MY STARS -- I'm sooo excited :woohoo: :cloud9:

Well shoot! I guess I should have looked into that more- I will keep my fingers crossed and I'll check out the villas too, but I know they are in need of refurbs...

Everything is correct other than the room options. My Disney account shows the WL, my email correspondence is with the WL IPO and my Disney packet including my luggage tags are all for the WL. I have no idea why it showed that on the website. I emailed IPO today and they responded that they have noted my room request. I should be set to go, but then you just never know. :)

WDWKOOK, I just looked at the exclusions to the discount, and it did not list that the deluxe rooms were excluded, so I'm hoping it is the same for the summer discounts!

Anywho, I am sooo excited to have changed our ressies to the WL:cool1:
There will be 9 of us in two rooms and this will be my 3 nieces' first trip to the World! My kids and I have always wanted to stay at the Lodge :cloud9:
Now to change my ticker...

I keep trying FP+ too and it hasn't worked for me either!!! I try in the morning and at night...one of these times I'm hoping it works. We arrive at the end of January as well!! Enjoy your trip!!
