Very excited that my daughter (age 23) and I will be arriving at the WL on Sunday! I planned a last minute trip using a PIN we got and I'm soooooo excited :yay: My husband and I toured the WL when we were at WDW in November and we just loved the look of it, so I can't wait to get there for my first WL stay:dance3:. We are staying January 12 to 16 and I booked a woods view room and requested overlooking otter pond on an upper floor. I'm sure we'll love whatever we get though!

We stayed at WL Sunday through Wednesday this week. Booked a standard view but got a free (unsolicited) upgrade to a courtyard view. We had a great time. Didn't use a lot of the amenities (just Roaring Fork) but loved the convenience of the location. We'll probably stay at a different hotel next time, not because we had any problem with WL but just because Disney has so many different options and we want to try them all out. We've only done POR royal room & WL so far. Still want to try AoA, Polynesian, Contemporary MK view and BWI (eventually, some of those are pretty spendy).

HI we are newbies to the Wilderness Lodge. We have stayed at several other Disney resorts, but this will be our first time at the WL.

My question is, can you view wishes from anywhere on the property other than balconies, that you can see wishes and if so, do they pipe in the music?

What is the fastest transportation to the Magic Kingdom, water craft or the bus?

How is the Food court at the resort? Do they serve Mickey Waffles?

Our flight is scheduled for 8:00pm on the day we leave. When we stayed at the Yacht Club, we were able to use Storm Along Bay for the day and then shower at the spa before we left for the airport. Would we be able to use the pool and shower before our flight?

I get about staying at a resort that I only saw briefly in 2008 when we ate at Whispering Canyon. I want to make sure I have all my info before we go.

thank you
Welcome and congratulations on booking your first WL stay. Shower photos below.

You will be able to use the showers at the Sturdy Branches Health Club.

I've posted your dates and I hope your request comes through. Have a great time with your DD!

These 2-hour school delays make for extra posting time:thumbsup2

What a great upgrade! If you stay again, would you book CV?

It's so much fun to try all the WDW Resorts and you have some great ones left on your must-stay list. Hope you get to book your next stay soon.

I totally understand this:thumbsup2 I'm one of those, too. However I tend to always make my way back to the CR and WL. We're suckers for the MK resorts! Glad you had a nice visit.

Only the CL rooms have robes. :)

:cloud9: not sure why I like those things so much...it's only a robe :upsidedow Great for early mornings, though, sitting on the balcony with a cup of coffee.

We don't spend much time in the room, so I wouldn't pay for a view (unless it was a MK view at the contemporary). Don't get me wrong, it was nice and I certainly appreciated the gesture, is just not something I want enough to pay extra for. We might be back next month (soon right?) and if so well do AOL.

Anyone have a picture or a list of the abbreviated AP menu that you can get at TL? We are interested in this, good to know you can get more than just apps. Thanks!

15 days until check-in! We added a pre-night at ASMovies since I haven't seen that resort yet, so 14 days until we check in there. :cheer2:

My DS12 is such a robe hog :rotfl: Oh how nice it would be for an August discount:scratchin

:rotfl: and that would be me! The robe hog;) Like my DH always says, "If you like the robe that much, we can bring one with us and save some money!";) And here's a little pixiedust: for your August discount!!!

I noticed in some of the WL photos there appears to be some quiet lounge areas on different floors of the lodge? Are those open to club level guests only? If not where are those areas located? Looking for quiet places to take our daughter (with autism) when the room becomes too confined for her. Thanks!

You will have a great time! I've taken many mother-daughter trips (as the daughter) and they have all been so special! My mom actually surprised me with a trip to the WL around Halloween when I was in middle school (just the two of us) and it was such a memorable experience. I still cherish the memories from that first stay at the WL. I am 24 now and checking in to the GF with my mom, sister and dad the day you check out. Dad will be off golfing every day, so it will just be mama and her daughters in the parks/at the resort during the day. So looking forward to the girl time! :earsgirl::earsgirl::earsgirl: Safe travels to you tomorrow!

I can't recall the exact locations of the lounges since there are several, but you will not have a problem accessing any of them. :thumbsup2

I left out a word in my original question. Are the lounges open to club level guests only? We will not be club level, just woods view!

Got it. My understanding is that all of the lounge areas (except for the big CL lounge/dining area overlooking the lobby, of course), are open to all guests. We have hung out in them before with no problem! I'm sure one of the WL experts on here can confirm.

Only the dedicated Club Level lounge, on the 7th floor, is restricted. Any other lounge area you happen upon is available for anyone to use. We especially like the one over the front entrance, I think it's on the 3rd floor? There are some cozy chairs and a fireplace.

Can someone tell me about the boat from the WL to the MK. How long does it typically take from the time you arrive at the dock? How frequently do the boats come? Can children stay in their strollers, or do strollers need to be folded? We've stayed the last few years at BLT and love the convenience of walking to the MK, but we really want to try WL this year. Our only hesitation is not being able to walk to the MK. Thanks in advance!

The boats are approximately 20 minutes apart and the boat ride to MK takes about 10-12 minutes, although in the mornings and at park closing, the boats were often more frequent then that. There are two types of boats, a larger boat which will accommodate ECV's and strollers and a smaller motor launch which requires strollers to be folded up. These two types of boats alternate. You can also take the bus which is a 5 minute long ride straight to MK.
