Can you request a specific room number in room requests or is that tacky?

I don't know about tacky, but it's easier to describe why you'd want a certain room as opposed to just giving a room number (so if they can't give you that specific room, they know why you wanted it and can find something similar).

Not sure if it is tacky but we did for our June trip. We said something like "room x, y or other inner courtyard view". So that way it isn't just a specific room #.

I have a list of rooms I like.. This last trip, I asked to be near 2113 and was given 2135. The week before, I asked to be near room 3010 at AKL and got 3020.. I have gotten room 2113 twice when requested.. So not tacky at all

We are currently booked in a 1 bedroom villa, but there is only a $30/day difference between that and club level deluxe. Looks like villa offers more room, but trying to weigh this against club level breakfast and nightly snacks (and more importantly drinks). Would appreciate any thoughts or preferences.

We would choose the Deluxe Room without question!
Good luck w/ your choice!

Staying at WL for the first time in October! Cannot wait!! :cool1:

:cool1:

Booked our red-eye flight last night for our August trip. We're arriving 8am. We can't wait to stay at WL! :cool1:

Oooooo nice and early!! You will enjoy the peacefulness of WL at that time -- hopefully!:goodvibes

Thanks for the replies. It did seem like it was one reviewer out of many, but I don't understand why she said the problem continued even once they were in the new room.

So, going ahead with WL CL reservations as planned. I agree lovely staff at the WL. DD can't wait to go back because of some pixie dust she got there last year - she was early at the pool and the lifeguards let her open the pool and be the pool sheriff! So now WL has trumped GF, BWI and CR when it comes to where to stay. DH thinks it's the best CL in terms of atmosphere, although there is bit more variety at GF SL.

I like your DH way of thinking!:thumbsup2

We usually request "in or near Room ####. If not the exact room, we've been pretty darn close. Be sure to put your view 1st tho cuz across the hall is very close but a very different view.

I need some advice. We are planning our trip for the end of April 2015. There will be four of us (me, husband, 7 year old and 5 year old). I'm not sure if we should get a standard room or rent a DVC studio. We don't spend a ton of time in our rooms but I want to have as much space as possible and the very best location. If we booked a standard, what is the likelihood we would be upgraded during that time of year? And how comfortable are the pull out couches in the DVC studios?

You really can't count on being upgraded any time of the year, and in April it might be busy with Spring Break. The good news is the location of the Standard View rooms is quite good, being either in the middle of the North wing or the South side of the lobby. The view from a standard room's balcony might not be great, but some can see the MK (and Wishes) in the distance. There is a loading dock below them in the North wing, so some do notice truck noise.

In our opinion the DVC location isn't as good, just because it is in another building (connected by a covered walkway) and some rooms can be a long walk down the hallway. The plus side is they have a little more room. (356 sq ft vs. 340 for a regular room) The views are mainly of trees, but they aren't above any loading dock areas or parking lots.

Our choice would be the main building but either way you'll be at WL and should have a great time.

My daughter was reluctant at first about the sleeper couch .. But she said it was really comfy. I have friends that said the same thing about the ones at BWV and AKL..I imagine it is the same company that supplies them all..

DisneyDmbNut - on a totally unrelated note (not sure where else to put this!)..I see on your signature you had a vow renewal at Disney? I noticed WL now offers weddings on site. My hubby and I had a terrible year when we got married (long story but lots of family issues regarding the wedding)..anyway, we would like to eventually renew our vows. We eloped the first time (a year ago) with no one there :(.

Anyone ever got married at WL or have you see any weddings there?

The money is a big issue - I know for the smallest package it costs like $2500 - which I could apply to a trip at WL as opposed to a 30 min wedding there.

BTw - not trying to go on a tangent. We are not ready to plan anything right now, I just thought I would ask someone who did it and see if anyone knows about vow renewals at WL.

Staying in the Lodge for the first time in November! If our group has two rooms booked, one standard and one courtyard view, can we request rooms across the hall or nearby? If not, what is the best standard room request? We mainly want to avoid the roof view.

I would imagine that if you book standard you might get an upgraded view but not an upgrade in room size. There are lots of categories above standard (wood, courtyard, concierge) before you get to deluxe rooms and suites.

Also, I would also expect that if you book WL then you would not be upgraded to a villa. For one that is a different pool of rooms, and also DVC tends to stay pretty full at the WLV.

We had no issues with standard view. The location was perfect. A bunk room might feel bigger just because the 2 twins are stacked rather than taking the footprint of a queen. However, the only additional seating is 2 chairs at the table.

You can add a "traveling with" note to each reservation which should get you rooms near each other. You can also both make similar requests.

Requesting the North Wing will get you away from the roof view, but you might want to request high floor to be further above the loading dock. It would also be very likely to have a Courtyard view just across the hall with a North Wing room.
Happy planning and enjoy your trip.

Thanks for the info! It'll be our DD's first trip, so I know it'll be a great trip for everyone!

Weird question, do they have wildnerness lodge tier is tumblers?? I thought I saw some mention of them before, but didn't know if anyone has seen them recently. Thanks!

We have a courtyard view room and requesting 2nd floor. Do we need to request inner courtyard? I didn't even realize there was another courtyard but we prefer the one with the large pool.

Yes, otherwise you could get a room on the South side of the South wing, with a view of the Villas courtyard, which is nice and quiet, but not the beautiful inner courtyard you're expecting.

Tervis?

I'd be interested as well (I have a general WDW one and it's held up great since I bought it at ASMu in 2009).

They have been doing Weddings on the Sunrise Patio overlooking the courtyard. I have seen a wedding there. It is a very small area and only holds maybe 10 people including bride and groom.

We did ours on the cruise and it was $1500. We were married at the courthouse so a wedding for $1500 was a deal! lol
