All, I just placed my garden grocer order for our trip at the end of July. It automatically applied a promotion code for getting our order in at least 30 days before our delivery date. It wasn't a huge discount, but it took care of my sales tax! So, if you're thinking about doing a GG order and you're a bit more than 30 days out, do it!

I saw that update, too. It just seems really bizzaro and I wasn't able to find any better explanation or details. Do you think that means that is the transportation to and from the resort hotels or only the themeparks? I found the update kind of confusing. If you're a BWI guest who was at TL until 2:30, for example, would you be dropped off at Epcot's main entrance to then have to walk through the park to get back to BWI? Can't be that, right?
Good question. I understood it to mean that this will be the new plan from the resorts. I would think they would have to add an Epcot Resorts bus at Epcot because otherwise you would have to have park admission to get from the front of Epcot and out the IG turnstile to the resorts or even to the Friendship Boat.

WOOHOO!!! DHJ and I are going to be in a BWV studio from Aug 24 to 29..Can't wait..first time there

Does anyone know when we will be able to book our trip home to BWI for the end of March 2015? We can't wait to make it official!!:dance3:

We just returned from a quick trip for SWW (stayed at POP)- this only got me more excited for our week trip in July to BWI- can't wait. Quick question... Does anyone know if I can get the CL concierge to book us lunch FP for BOG ahead of time?
This is the email I received about 3 weeks prior to arrival:

Apparently there is a difference between the DCP and the Disney professional internships. DD has researched this. The professional internships are for college graduates in a particular field and they are even more competitive than the DCP.

I always love reading other people's TRs, but I'm not much of a story teller and when I start writing, they seem kind of boring. Maybe I'll give it a try after this trip.
Is the internship after graduation what DD would like to do? Sounds like a great goal and great way to move right into a paid position at our favorite place:thumbsup2

If you don't want to write much, you could just do more of a pictorial:)

That is a good story. My plan is to retire, move south, and work at WDW, but only as a boat captain, only the MK to WL only in the smaller, non-covered boats. Since it is likely my demands won't be met, I'll just retire and go to WDW more often. :lmao:

We stay in studios and are a family of four. Our dds are 12 & 10 and the sofa bed is fine. When they start fighting, I go and lay down between them on the sofa bed - they usually stop. I have slept of some of the sofa beds at the different DVC resorts, and they a have always been comfortable. I am 6' and both dds are taller than average heights. Hope that helps and have a great trip.
I love your threat that if your job demands aren't met, you'll just have to remain a visitor…who will not be sailing around in a covered boat:boat:. And, yep, I imagine that puts a stop to the fighting fast:thumbsup2

Just returned from our first say at our home resort! We loved it here!! We had a 1 bedroom bw view booked for 2 nights and a studio booked for 1 night.

This is the view from our 1 bedroom!!! LOVED it! Room # 5011. It was the EXACT room I hoped for! I made requests to get this room and every single request was met, I was in complete shock!! Needless to say..we did not want to check out into a studio :-)

This is the view from our studio...be careful with where you request...just like my 1 bedroom, I requested the following...thinking it was just easier to not move far...

High Floor
Big River Grill
Large Balcony

The studio was literally right next door to our 1 bedroom, but it had this huge thick "ledge" that blocked the boardwalk right below us :-( Oh Well...live and learn :-) I will be doing a full report on my stay and I will definitely post it here!
Thank you for posting some of your view photos and giving great advice. I think your comments will be very helpful to others planning their requests. Looking forward to your full TR!

Quoting myself. I think I've got it figured out. It appears that the Xentury City one did close down and right near where it used to be is a new Publix, "Water Tower Shoppes".
Thank you so much for answering the OP's question:rotfl:

If we wanted a view of Illuminations, can you get those in standard rooms? Would it be water view rooms?
Yes! The Standard View rooms at BWI have views of the garden/courtyard with Epcot in the background, the canal and the parking lot area. For a BWI booking, just request a high floor and an Epcot view and hopefully they'll be able to get you just that.

Speaking of CL - anyone there now that has seen the progress of the refurb?

Congratulations on booking and I'll add your dates to the BoardWalk Bulletin.

Reservations can be made up to 500 days in advance, but online reservations can only be made for this year, so you'll have to call. You can only book room-only and not packages and only at 2014 rates. When the 2015 rates are announced, your room-only booking rate will be adjusted to the prevailing rate. You can also add any applicable discounts and/or change to a package when the 2015 rates are released this summer.

Whoa. Thank you *so* much. I've bookmarked it and updated my calendar to start looking 60 days in advance. :thumbsup2

The BOG FP doesn't open up at 60 days. It has been at random times. Right now it is only open through the end of June. There are several threads on the restaurant board where you can track when new days open.

LOL. I am one of those unlucky souls who literally does not like to eat. I do not enjoy eating. For those parents who have kids that are picky eaters -- it's unlikely they'll turn out to be me, but just imagine it if they do. :crazy2: All that is to say it never even once occurred to me to *check* much less *read* the forum for restaurants. For some reason, though, I've decided this trip to try a few eating out experiences. So thank you for letting me know such a forum and threads exist -- nice to learn new things. (And, no, I truly am not being sarcastic. I didn't even think about such a possibility.)

And, just to try and tie this in to the thread topic, I find the Boardwalk to be an excellent location for folks trying to save money on food -- besides access to the store on the Boardwalk and the store at the Beach Club you've got the Hess station in easy walking distance (I do think it's best to try and go there before the traffic really picks up, though. I'd usually try for the 7-7:30 a.m. timeframe, before it got too hot to be carrying bags back and before folks started going to work or the parks.) Even with a studio, the fridge and microwave and toaster allow you to make plenty of meals -- even for picky eaters! :thumbsup2

Thanks! Preliminary planning and weighing options. Would love the boardwalk view because you can enjoy that all day but something about fireworks from the room (did TPV at CR in January) that's amazing.

We're here and boy, I forgot how hot it gets in the summer months. We're in room 5062,which if the app allowed me to post pictures, I would. Nice view of the pool, slightly obstructed by a tree. Close to the elevator and top floor like I requested.

Rode the Seven Dwarfs Mine Train and really enjoyed it. It was down for a couple of hours, but they honored all Fastpasses.

Tomorrow we decided to do the Luau, since DD is working it. Haven't done a dinner show in ages.

You'll need frequent refreshments to help cool you off;). That'll be so much fun watching DD at work and having her take your photo before the Luau. We still have our SoA pre-show photo displayed from years ago - nice memory.

I hate to eat. I am making myself eat lunch and dinner ever6day at this point. Going in dec and it will be my bf first time going, she wan t s to do the dining plan and do sit downs every day. I always drink water and if I order a hamburger and fries or shrimp Fetachini and salad I eat half a meal. And am to full for dessert. Ddp is not a good fit for me. Food just isnt my thing.

I am the complete opposite - I love to eat. I enjoy the taste, smell, and texture of food. It doesn't matter if I am too full for dessert as I'm going to try a favorite or something new on the menu. I also enjoy the taste of beer and bourbon (separately, not mixed). I learned to cook in a grocery store bakery/ deli when I was in my teenage years. I wasn't so good at decorating, but I can cook most anything. I'll do homemade pizza and a cake with my dds. Fortunately, they stay very active between their different sports activities. As for me, not so much.

And, i agree the Boardwalk is great for dining for everyone. Not only is there a short walk to the World Showcase, but all the great options that range from signature dining restaurants to bar food to lobster roll to pizza to snacks.

It sure does get hot in the summer at Disney. We always go at that time. Glad you enjoyed 7DMT. I heard from someone else that it was down the other day too. Enjoy the Luau and seeing your dd at work. That sounds like fun.:goodvibes

That's so funny. I just actually went to knock on your door to say hi, but privacy up. If you see this in the next half hour, stop by and say hi. We're heading to DHS today.

If you guys heard about the new upgrade to the Magic Bands, we got to use it yesterday on Splash Mountain. Did write down the picture number, just in case. But with that improvement, no more rushing to find your picture. Love it.

Hi everyone! I am so excited to say that I just booked our reservations at the BWI. :cool1::cool1::cool1: I am coming with 2 friends in February to run the Princess Half Marathon. I have stayed at YC CL and BC CL and love them both but really want to try BW as well.

WDWKOOK our dates are Feb 20-24 in a Deluxe CL room. :thumbsup2

Thanks for all your great info on this thread and others too.

Question: I requested a BW view. How probable is that? Not sure of where the Deluxe rooms are at BWI and how many there are. Sorry if this is covered somewhere.

Thanks!:listen::)

Well, congratulations on booking and I'll log your dates. All ten Deluxe CL rooms have a guaranteed BWV. Five are located on the CL's 4th floor and five are located on the third floor. There are Deluxe room photos courtesy of psac and more info. HERE in POST 3.
