(CLOSED) Disney's BOARDWALK INN and VILLAS INFORMATION THREAD

Thanks everyone for the info! I just looked at Google Earth Maps and I think that Beach club might be a better fit. It really is close to Epcot! I'm even thinking that with it being so close I could rent an ECV during our stay and at least use it at Epcot. I've never done that before and just toughed the pain out and walked, but maybe this year I will rent one. I have always been afraid of what people will think or getting them on and off a bus, but Epcot is the park that really kills my hip, so maybe I'll suck it up and do it and swallow my pride. :D

Beach Club is definitely closer to Epcot, but have you considered Yacht Club?? The bus stop is very close to the lobby. Plus the boat dock is right there too for getting to Disney Studios or Epcot.

Hi everyone! SO much great info in this thread -- thank you! We will be at BWV for the last 3 nights of our trip this November (first 4 nights at AKV Jambo, which feels like home for us). This will be our first time at BWV, so I'm reading everything I can! So excited! We've actually never stayed at an Epcot-area DVC property, and we're very excited about that, too! :cool1:

I will probably be coming up with questions over the next 6 months, but just wanted to say hi! :thumbsup2

Joining in on the fun - we are booked in a BWV standard-view studio November 10th - 17th!

This is our first stay as DVC owners!! We own at VGF, so had to wait list BWV at 7 months out, but luckily it came through only 6 days later! SO EXCITED!! I'm over the moon to be staying here!

Does anyone know...are there any standard view rooms in the villas where you can see ToT/DHS? I'm kind of obsessed...:rotfl: :confused3

Now to go read through this glorious thread!

We will also be at BWV from August 14-19 (and then onto AKLV Kidani from August 19-23), our first stay at both! We previously stayed at Beach Club a few years ago, and loved the walking distance to both Epcot and HS, so we are excited to be back in the center of the magic! :cloud9:

Is there a map anywhere that shows the room numbers and locations? I searched around and couldn't find anything online. I'm trying to figure out what room to request out of the standard view studios, any suggestions? I would prefer not a view of the parking lot...

Technically there are no standard view rooms that do not have a view of the parking lot. Though, honestly, there's usually a significant amount of lawn and sidewalks and trees such that the parking lot is *not* that big of a deal.

(Note that I am assuming you're asking about the Villas, not the Inn)

Yes villa, so which would have better views: the bigger part of the L facing the entrance and Epcot, or the lower part of the L facing toward DHS?

I'd say the lower part is a better view but it's a long way from the elevator and the boardwalk. If you can take steps, it's close to the bus stop and parking lot.

There is only 1 dedicated studio in this area (right next to the exit), the rest are lockoffs:

I have heard that the hallways are long, but do they have stairwell exits at the end of the building? Do you have to travel to the elevators for the stairs?

Does anyone have photos of the view from this end? I've seen several of he views that face the entrance. How far is the walk to the boardwalk from there?

There's a set of stairs pretty much at every major "break" or "turn" that you see in any of those lines in the picture from the link, above. I expect *at least* a total of 8 stairwells in the Villas portion alone. I'm pretty sure the end of each leg has an opening to the outside, and I know that there are openings at the main pool and at the quiet pool as well.

Note that the Boardwalk is along the blue line in the picture, above. So, from a standard view room, you're going to have to go to the lobby and down the outside stairs to the Boardwalk. Or go down the elevator (at the lobby) to the Boardwalk. Or walk behind the pool(s) to the Boardwalk. In other words, you're not by the Boardwalk in a standard view room. ;)

You can kind of see from the picture that the lobby -- the main, center part of the building -- is slightly tilted. It's on the 2nd floor of the Villas (I assume, also the Inn but I'm not certain) so you will be taking stairs or the elevator to the Boardwalk. Or to Epcot, the Studios, or the boat to those parks. You don't technically take stairs to the bus stop, but unless you come down the stairs at a point close to the bus stop (that small building - really, a covered waiting area - below and to the right of the circle dropoff point at the hotel entrance) you'll be going downhill from the lobby to the bus stop. There's a lot of walking at the Boardwalk!:rotfl:

Can anyone explain to me, as long as we're talking about views, what the chances are of getting a BW view when I have a preferred/water view booked (at BWV)? They seem to be the same cost the same number of points per night, so that's why I'm a bit confused. Is it just a matter of first come, first served? Or luck of the draw? Is there something I should request? Any info would be appreciated! Thanks! :thumbsup2

The boardwalk view is it's own booking category. There are 3, standard, preferred/water and boardwalk. So if you don't have boardwalk view booked, you will not have a boardwalk view room.

Yes, it's first come first served for when you book. If you have Boardwalk view, it's BW view. Otherwise if you have Preferred (non-BW), you'll get one of the pools, the canal going towards DHS, etc. All nice views, but not BW.

Unfortunatelu, no. The standard villas all face the inside of the resort (like towards the entrance and parking lot), while the TOT is on the other side of the building. You can see from plenty of the Preferred views, but not standard. Sorry!!

I have to disagree, we rented from DVC owner in April and had a standard villas and we had a view of the clown pool and tot !!! It was awesome !!! Request room 4018!!

According to Shamus' map, 4018 is a pool view room, not a standard view room.

Nope, no standard views will include a view of a pool, especially not Luna Park. In order to see both Luna Park and DHS, you have to have a preferred room.. You can see DHS from the end of the bldg that are standard view rooms.

I think I will just request close to the lobby and see what happens. I really have no idea what to request, but I know I don't want to be a hundred miles away from the boardwalk. Any advice is welcomed :goodvibes
