(CLOSED) Disney's BOARDWALK INN and VILLAS INFORMATION THREAD

to all, I edited my earlier post about the walk from the swan boat dock being a shorter walk.. it just saves times, not distance.

BTW, we will be there april27 for 5 nights. our friends couldn't get us boardwalk view, so we paid the same price for preferred/pool view. we requested village green..I think there might be a good chance to get that request since it is mostly studios. (which is what we booked).

I prefer not to be on the 2nd floor as those balconies are enclosed. you have to stand to see out, and they're darker. hubby likes a lot of light as he has low vision. but I didn't put floor # on the request as VG is more imp. to us. shorter walk, and almost a boardwalk view. and 2nd floor would be very convenient, so we'll just let the cars fall where they lay!!!
I'll log your dates and I hope you get the perfect room location.

At the boardwalk and we love it! This is our first time here!! This has been my dream hotel to stay at and I'm in love it's gonna be hard to stay somewhere else next time ! We are on the 4th floor looking out at Luna pool :) which my daughter loves !!! Absolutely love being so close to Hollywood studios !!! Only a three night trip wish it was longer but loving and enjoying every minute here! The most we have ever sent time at our resort while at disney !!!!!
So nice to read that BWI is living up to your expectations. Hope you can book a return trip soon!

Heading "home" tomorrow! So very excited to be going again with my son and his family. Cannot wait to see all our " family" at the BWI .
Hope you had an easy trip and you're enjoying WDW and your family. How is your room?

Hello! :goodvibes

In regards to the Innkeeper's Club renovations, is it just the lounge? Or the rooms too?

And does anyone know if the renovations will include the addition of a refrigerator for the drinks in the lounge, versus the tub of ice that they currently use? I don't know why that bothers me so much. :confused3
Just the lounge for the dates I have posted. No word yet on specific dates for a BWI room rehab, but I will try to find out more in June when I'm there.

Would anyone happen to have the recreation calendar for April 2014? We will be there at the end of the month!!
The hyperlink to the calendar is posted in post #1 and HERE is the direct link to the April calendar.

Thank u!!!

I think my post may have been missed as I am not on the list for the Boardwalk Bulletin :(

My DH and I will be at BWI (Waterview) Sept. 22-26th, alone, as in no kids!!

Thanks for adding me!! So excited to try BWI!!

Hi all - sorry for not reading every post -- we are planning on BWI for our vacation this summer. Can anyone tell me about the "daybed"?? It will be me, my MIL, and my 3 kids, ages 6, 9 & 11. 11 year old or grandma would probably sleep on the daybed -- will it be OK?

My youngest who is 12 sleeps on the daybed and always gets a good nights sleep. I'm not sure about grandma though.

I just upgraded the room for our anniversary trip this November from a boardwalk view standard room to a deluxe club level room. Was this a good choice? I want to make our trip as special as possible and we have never stayed club level before. :cool1:

Any tips or suggestions?

No frowning - you've been added:)

No apology needed - welcome! The daybed might be a little small for granny, but is perfect for kids.

Neat-O! There are 10 Deluxe rooms, 5 are on the 3rd floor and 5 are on the 4th floor which is where the Innkeeper's Club is located. All have BWVs. Some prefer being on the same floor as the lounge so you could request a 4th floor room. Photos are located HERE.

Do you have to use valet parking or is there handicap parking in the regular parking lots for the BWI?

I could use some advice :) We are booked for a standard view one bedroom villa at BWV in June and I'm a bit nervous. Are the views really dreadful? We desperately want to be in an Epcot resort because the kids are going to Star Wars Weekend, and this was the only room I could find. Also, what requests would you recommend I make? Are there certain standard view areas better than others? Since we are a cash reservation do we have a chance of being upgraded to a better view? Thanks so much! :goodvibes

We stayed in a standard view years ago and the view wasn't too bad. We requested farthest from the elevator so we weren't too close to the porte cochere. So that would be one request I would recommend making.

We were also able to see Epcot fireworks from our top floor balcony. The only mistake I made was asking for top floor. I wanted to be as far down as possible but the top floor only goes about halfway down the side of the building.

First time staying at Boardwalk. We stayed at Bay Lake Tower last year and loved it.

We are staying at BWV Studio SV Sept 14-18. Any chance we get upgraded to BW view? How do they determine that? Thanks.

I personally think it was a great choice (:
It is my favorite roon in all of Disney! I love sitting on the balconey and watching the fireworks from Disney and you can also see the Boardwalk performers.

The 4th floor does put you close to the lounge, but the balconies on the 3rd floor are bigger and their are staircases to give you a shortcut to the lounge.
