Close to a Full Moon

_MG_1135.jpg

02 January, 5:14 pm
1/500, f/8, ISO 400, -1 exposure (exposing for the moon)
30D, 70-200 f/4 with 1.4x

It looks like we both had almost the same view (angle) of the moon comparing the pictures.(Nice Pic) I am in Angier and I suspect you are also be towards the Piedmont area. I also took some with a more golden tint by putting my WB on cloudy with the same settings I used previously.

Took this tonight.

This was taken with a Canon S2 IS. I can lookup the EXIF info if requested.

I love the moon, and wanted a pic with more than 'just the moon' but not enough to detract from it for a backdrop for my pc for a while.

Okay- after seeing all these for two nights I had to go out and try one. Kind of a foggy haze out but here she is anyway.

Did you add the stars?

Actually I did NOT add the stars and found myself wondering if I had gotten some weird type noise reflection or something else, because I actually remembered the sky looking about half as hazy as it was when you shot your photo, but hazy nonetheless. Then when I saw all those specs, I thought cool it looks like stars, but I didn't think there was any way I would have captured any last night:confused3 As with most of my pictures, we'll chalk it up to luck and call them stars:worship: I tried the f-8, 400 ISO and 1/500 for that one.

Everyone's pic is of the same side of the moon. Anyone take any of the other side?

I think Neil Armstrong did on one of the Apollo missions. Unfortunately there were no post card shops when the astronauts landed so he had to use is brownie camera.

I have not heard or saw anyone mention a BROWNIE camera in forever. I have one that my grandmother sent me eons ago with a roll of film in it. (we all know about how good that is now:lmao: Anyway it was neat seeing you mention a BROWNIE:thumbsup2
