Definately the hotels on Harbor Blvd. are the closest, like the ones mentioned above. The hotels that are on Katela or surrounding streets look close on a map, but really are not due to having to walk quite a ways. We stayed at the Park Vue once to try it out, and while the hotel was not 3 stars, you could not beat the proximity to the park or the price. The walk was 3 minutes, tops. Literally, you only had to cross the street and you were there. Also there are several restaurants like Mimi's and IHOP very close. There are slightly nicer properties on that same block, but as not having stayed at any of them, I couldn't give recomendations. Our 1st off property stay, we tried the Anabella Hotel. It was a very nice hotel with a restaurant on property and a tropical pool area. On the map, it is right across the street. However, getting to the entrance plaza took about 15 minutes because you had to walk a city block and then the whole length of DTD. This was not so bad in the morning, but at night when you have kids who are exhausted, the walk seemed to take hours. Good luck and have a great trip.
