I've been wondering about this for awhile now but keep forgetting to ask someone.

Occasionally when downloading something, I get the warning box that my clipboard is very full and do I want to save what I'm downloading.

So what the heck is the clipboard? And how do I reduce it or delete stuff on it? Could it be why my computer's battery / motor (?) seems to run fast?

(I could ask the kids later but by then I'll forget again LOL plus they'll have enough to do with the start of school again)

TIA :goodvibes

When you copy or cut a large bock of text or images in Microsoft word, for example, the information is saved on a virtual clipboard until you paste it some place else. If you close word before you paste the data, the program is asking if you want to keep the data on this clipboard so you can paste it someplace else.

OIC! Thank you!

And I think I do that alot, ugh.

So how do I get rid of all the excess?

Just say no when you are asked to save your clipboard. It will be replaced by the next thing you copy so you could always just copy one word to override what's a lady there.

Ok, will do. So how far back, or how much will that erase? Just the last text that I didn't save? Or is there a way to erase more?

My laptop does seem to be sluggish, and I'm wondering if thats why.

It's just a short term, temporary save. Once you turnoff our computer, it's gone.

I would try running a virus or malware program, there might be some thing there slowing down your computer. Oh and maybe go to internet options - there's an option to delete cookies, temp files, etc. that might help.

Ok, thanks so much. I really appreciate your advice and help!!!
