Hello wonderful Disney peeps!! Just checking something before I head off to DLRP tomorrow!! Yay!!

Was looking at making a visit to Clearwater/St Pete's.....but only as a day visit in the summer...can anyone offer some advice/tips on what to see and do...was looking at a map and fancying just driving down the coast between the two - is this even possible??

Thanks!!

If you can, visit Fort DeSoto Park.
STUNNING beach which was empty when we went, except for a few birds.
The sea is wonderful, and the views are amazing.

Clearwater beach is stunning, the best in Florida.

It is only a very short drive to St.Petes, make sure you cross the bay over the Sunshine Skyway bridge, worth a visit for this alone.

To get on the Bridge, you need to take motorway I-275 south right through St Petersburg, and it is quite a drive (about 15 miles in total) before you can turn around and head back. But it IS quite breathtaking. The beaches of the St Pete's-Clearwater area are simply superb, and you can't go wrong wherever you go. Fort Desoto has just been named America's No 1 Beach in 2005, but there are others worth seeing at Caladesi Island, Madeira Beach, Indian Rocks and Clearwater Beach itself. There are some fab cruises and other excursions to look out for, including a dolphin watch sailboat excursion from Dolphin landings at St Pete's Beach.

It is a magnificent view, better if you are not driving though, well worth seeing if you are in the area.

The beaches are fantastic here ... powder white sand, water like a warm bath.....

Then I look out of my window here to frost :teeth: it's nice to dream ;)

:sunny: :) Hi

John's pass is a boardwalk area between Clearwater and st Pete's. It has some shops and some great places to eat.

We also ate at a resturant called the Waterfront on the road between Clearwater and St Pete's. It had a outside area on the inland waterway- great meal.

Have fun :goodvibes

We stayed in Indian Rocks which is between both St petes and Clearwater. We loved the whole area. We also did the bridge and went to a huge mall somewhere on the other side. Going over the weather was fab but coming back we were driving in the rain and we couldn't see a thing.

We've been on Treasure Island beach today (72F) it was great. St Petes is lovely. Have been to Clearwater a few years ago and that was lovely too. Naples is also beautiful, its a bit further south but a great base to visit the Everglades from.

Museum of Science and Industry in Tampa (very near Busch Gardens) have a exibition on called Bodies (all about the human bodies) it looks facinating, we are thinking of going tomorrow

There is a Dali museum in St Petersburg which I really enjoyed.

I wanted to go there but we ran out of time unfortunately. It's good to hear feedback on it :)
