Clearing address bar on my computer

I want to clear the address bar on my computer. I am running Windows XP. I have tried all sorts of different things and nothing works....

you mean clearing what is in there when you pull it down??? clear history I believe

Go to TOOLS, INTERNET OPTIONS, HISTORY and clear your history. Then close your browser and reopen IE. That should work...

On my netscape navigator, you go to Edit, Preferences, History and then click on history and/or location bar to clear them. To clear the cache (record of websites also) go to Edit, Preferences, Advanced, Cache, clear cache. Hope this helps!

yes..that worked.. DANG IT! I thought I tried "Delete History" but didnt open and close explorer!
