Clearanced Nook at WM

I love my nook and had no interest in the kindle. :)

Same here.. and I'll go one further.. why would someone shop at Walmart? I can't stand that place! Dirty, dingy and disorganized.. never mind the HIGHEST prices.

I thought I was doing a good thing by sharing a deal - next time I'll keep my dirty, dingy WalMart deals to myself. Sorry to offend.

Thank you OP for sharing that deal!! I am firmly in Team Nook, and I love shopping at my very clean, well maintained and inexpensive Walmart!

Cool! I'm still on team nook because of their library lending function. Altho if/when kindle gets their act together and allow overdrive I might switch over b/c they're so much lighter/thinner.

Same here; everyone I know that has a kindle has had nothing but problems with it.

My mom, dh and i all got Kindles for xmas and not one of us has had a single problem and we are all addicted to them.

Don't be sorry, some people are always looking for something to be offended by.
This is the budget board, please continue to post the deals you find, they will definitely help someone!

Does the nook have a calender on it? I know a random question, but I would love it if it does. That's the main reason I am looking at an itouch instead.

No, no calendar. I can honestly say I would not go with an iTouch over a Nook or Kindle if I was looking for an e-reader. I have both and the screen on the iTouch is just way too small for reading. An iPAD OTH would be a cool upgrade.

Love my nook. Love my ipad and the nook app even more. Also love my daughter's nookcolor.

Don't love WalMart...but love a good deal! To each their own?

Seven Kindles in my family and not a single issue with any of them.

I think Nook and Kindle are rapidly getting to the point that they are almost identical, except for the company that produces them. Each generation will build on the improvements made by the competition.

I'm firmly in the Kindle camp due to the amazing customer service Amazon provides. I'd much rather have a Kindle than a Nook, but I no longer think of a Nook as an inferior product - which I certainly did for a while.

I think the market will be feature and price driven because I think the publishers will sell the ebooks for the same price everywhere. I still like the text to speech and the free 3G, and I am loving the Special Offers - just saved $20 on sunscreen that will last the rest of the summer, and have another $10 to spend in the Amazon bookstore due to another promotion. Love my Kindles!!!

I don't think you can go wrong with a Nook or a Kindle! I have the Kindle because I really love Amazon and their customer service... my Kindle has Ads on it and was only $114... the ads only show when you aren't reading so they don't bother me at all!

FYI, I think this may be the new price for a the simple e-reader nook. My dh bought one at BN two weeks ago for the same price :).

I don't know that I would chose an itouch over an ereader, but rather an itouch and just a basic nook/kindle vs nook color or similar. Does the nook color have a calender feature?

3 kindles in my household, another 5 in my close family, and several friends have kindles as well. Not a single problem with any of them that I'm aware of... and I guarantee I'd hear about it if my family members had kindle issues. :rotfl:

And I love kindle support. I was able to get a $25 credit on a kindle I bought almost 2 months ago because the price just dropped. They certainly didn't have to go back that far, but they did so cheerfully. :thumbsup2

While the Nook deal doesn't work for me, I think it was a great heads up. Thanks for sharing OP.

I had a kindle, wasn't happy with trying to find your books or the page turning after having a touch screen on my phone...traded it back to a family member and got a Nook color...LOVE LOVE LOVE my Nook Color!!!! and I love that each Fri.
