Not sure if anyone knows all the answers to these questions:

1. Are they cleaning buses after everyone gets off each time. Basically, let's say I took a bus from CSR to AK...are they cleaning right after we get off the bus and before passengers get on at AK?

2. Same for ME...are they cleaning right after we get off?

3. What about the Skyliner which travels around continuously...are they cleaning each time?

4. And how about the Monorail?

Not sure if I'm overly concerned, but wanted to have some idea before I decide whether or not to rent a car instead.

Any info would be greatly appreciated.

No way they could do that for any of the transportation, really. You should just wash your hands or use hand sanitizer after you get off. They clean the rides every 2 hours.

Yeah...thought they were crazy questions anyhow...i guess just wondering how they are doing the cleaning in general. Thanks much for the response. Just have to decide between now and then what to do re: rental car.

even with a rental car at MK lot you will still have to take Disney transportation to the park gate and last I have heard no parking lot trams at all parks

It's probably more important they let the buses/Skyliner/monorail ventilate vs. cleaning.

As long as the DVC part is open, the monorail should stay open. It's a MONORAIL RESORT, people, and the cost/points show that. Already there's not even a monorail from the Ticket & Trans Center to Epcot.

This is getting beyond depressing. Leaving in 3 weeks after an insane amount of trips and this should be the first trip where we leave feeling blah. I feel very badly for the people going for the first time.

For reference, the no monorail was announced today.

Staying at BW and probably won't go to MK anyway...just EP and HS, but since December wanted to head over via monorail to see resort decorations... guess Poly is out anyway. I feel bad for all those Poly reservations through next Summer who are displaced now and have to move. Feel bad for all the folks who have had to be moved. At least my move from BWI to BWV isn't bad.

I think this is terrible to pay for monorail access at the Poly villas and not get it for all those people through next Summer... very bad. I totally agree that I would never recommend anyone have a first visit during this time and even most of next year...no parades, no fireworks, shorter hours, no live shows...definitely not worth the price of admission for a first timer...only plus shorter lines on most rides...if thats all u want to do.

Two points re: the monorail at Poly.

1) the announcement did not say that the monorail would not be available for the entire time. Only that due to the refurb at the GCH, that it would close in October. They could well finish whatever they plan on doing in the GCH and have the monorail stopping there again long before the summer reopening of the resort.

2) for the DVC villas at Poly, it's about as quick to walk to the TTC as it is to walk to the GCH. Villa guests will have access to the monorail. They just have to walk in a different direction to get on it.

Both great points...so thats good for those that are in the villas to still have the monorail option...and you're certainly right that the monorail station could open before next Summer...they could do the GCH first well before starting on the room rehabs.

I'm hoping they do do whatever work they're planning in the GCH first. No reason to give an October date for no monorail access unless they're starting work then on it then as well.

I do have a vested interest though, as we have a 12 day DVC trip planned for the first part of December. Starting at Poly.
