Cleaning hard wood floors?

I do have a steamer but lately the floors just seem dull. Any ideas? They are about 4 year old oak floors.

You are 'steaming' hard wood? All I've ever used was a wrung out damp mop in vinegar water. I'd think steaming hard wood would be hard on the finish. Perhaps that's the problem. They may need refinishing.

Steaming is a common and highly effective way to clean hardwood-very safe. You just ahve to be careful not to steam any worn spots where the floors are not sealed.

Steaming was what I was told to do. Plus to be honest I don't think my steamer is that hot.
I will have to look for that stuff. I think I noticed they are getting a little dull because we finished another room last fall and they seem to have more shine. Plus it is mainly one small part that is traveled on all the time between the kitchen and the family room..

My mom swears by this stuff. Her floors always look fantastic. I don't have wood floors at my house but hers is in her kitchen/dining/great room area so lots of traffic and they look brand new.

Do you have a Home Depot? They sell a cleaner in a dark green spray bottle that works amazing. Sorry I don't know the name.
