Hi,

I wasn't sure where to post this, please move this if it isn't in the correct place.

I just purchased my first pair of Birkenstocks...I love them already. Just trying to get them well worn before our November WDW trip.

My 9 month old spilled a little juice on them yesterday. They are the tan colored ones and now there is a dark spot on them.

So for my question, how do you clean them? Thanks guys!!

I am learning so much on these boards!! :Pinkbounc

I am not sure but maybe you could contact Birkenstock. I am sure they would have a website or call the store where you purchased them.

I know how you feel about dirty Berkie's. I have about 5 pairs. But you know what... the dirtier they are they more comfortaboe they get. They do have a cleaner. Go to the web site and check it out. I get mine when ever we go to Williamsburg. Virginia..
Mine are ready for my August 28 trip as well.

Good luck
Reenie

No, berkies are in European sizes. I wear a size 8 American and a size 37 European for my Berkies.

The BEST place to buy Berkies is from QVC. If you have to exchange the size, they will do it with no problem. They often have Berkies on sale or as a Todays Special Value.

Just go to qvc.com

I LOVE my Berkies!

I LOVE my birkenstocks!! They are pretty much the only shoe i wear!! Um..did u purchase the water selent to put on them? That works good..But about cleanin them....i know here in Mobile Alabama u can take them back to the birkenstock store and they will clean them. But when u buy them they tell u to buy all these cleaners. And if you give them ur old birkenstocks u get so much money off when buy new ones. Brandee

Thank you guys so much.

No, this wasn't a joke. I had read so much about Birkenstocks on here...I finally bought my first pair and I was hoping that someone could tell me how to clean them. So sorry if I offended you with my question.

Thanks for all of you that helped...I have ordered some cleaner/sealent off the site. I can't wait to get it. :D

I have a pair of Birki sandals. My cat "relieved himself" inside my shoe. (Apparently I had offended him in some unknown manner.) I poursed rubbing alcohol in the shoe, let it dry, and then used lysol. My shoe seems fine.

I love my Berkies also! don't want to admit how many pair I have. I wear a 7 1/2 American and wear a 38 in Birkenstock and a 39 in the Tatami line of Birkenstock.

Does the Birkie cleaner get rid of the smell??? My husband wears his Birks all the time and whew :faint:. He has taken the inserts out and scrub them before but just didn't know if the cleaner would help.

I wear an 8- 81/2 W american-- 39(normal or REG) in birkenstocks, consistently.

I don't buy the cleaner anymore. (cringe)
I wash mine with a dishsponge and dish soap (not dishwasher detergent) if they get really gross, hose them off to rinse well and sit them out on the deck to dry. (horrors)

I know I am BRUTAL. If I babied them too much I could never justify a new pair!!! It never seems to hurt them!

The poster above was correct in saying that the dirtier they are the more comfy the get!
