How often do you run vinegar through it?

I make coffee 2x a day (half pot)

I've had my current coffee maker about 7 years.

Guess it's about time I did this... :rolleyes1

Once a year wether it needs it or not. We only make coffee maybe twice a week. In my old office where we made 4-5 pots a day, we ran vinegar through it every Friday morning followed by a plain water run through. I run cold water through our home pot every once in a while.

Ok so I use a 1/4 cup vinegar and rest water.
Do it many times

The brown water is almost coming out clear now

Nasty stuff :scared1:

To clean a stained pot

Crushed Ice
Kosher Salt
Lemon Juice.

Swish it around. Works like a charm

I do ours about once every two months, but we make coffee only once a day, so maybe would do it every month for yours.

But we have very hard water, and I don't always use Brita-filtered water to make the coffee... it actually tastes better to me made with the hard water. That hard water means lots of scale in the pot.

Remember to run two full pots of plain water through after the vinegar before you make coffee again, unless you like vinegar in your coffee!

I would suggest using White Fuming Nitric Acid. It will clean out everything in the pot. And when you flush it down the drain it will also clean the drain.

The only potential downside is you may end up with no pot and no drainpipes.

We've had our pot since Christmas and I've done this once so far. I think my coffee maker directional said once a month.:guilty:
