I am starting the process of buying points for BWV resale, and I have a question about lien on the points. Could the previous owner have had a lien placed on it? If so, where would the lien be registered? With the county or with Disney?

I tried to search the archives, but I had no luck. Thanks!

Owners generally do not place liens on their own property. However, that owner could have had a mortgage lender or possibly a lien resulting from a divorce or to creditors. For lien information, if it has been filed, you would need to contact the applicable Florida recorder's office. Go here for on-line searches http://www.occompt.com/disclaimer.html; however, for final assurance you would need to check the actual files on the property.

Wouldn't title insurance uncover any liens?

Yes, paying for title insurance results in the title company doing a records search and then issuing insurance to protect the buyer if what they say as a result of their title search turns out to be incorrect. My impression was that the OP may be trying to avoid buying title insurance.
