not that I can speak for the poster but I think what that person meant by saying "old" was not the age on listening to someone's music but "old" for following them around the country to concerts, etc...and to genuinely feel pain that "people" are talking "bad" about a celeb... that was my take on the post anyway....but see how the internet/message board puts such a spin on things.
Well, since Brandie has left the thread (

to Brandie), I'll jump in here.
You guys don't have a clue about Claymates. Really, and I mean that in the nicest way. If you think that Brandie, or any of us Clayfans on the Dis for that matter, are "obsessed" and "following" him around the country or "genuinely feeling pain" for the comments that were made, you are making ignorant assumptions.
Clay Aiken is an entertainer. He is talented, and he puts on terrific, family orientated, ENTERTAINING shows. For that reason, and I'm taking the liberty of speaking for Brandie here, a well-adjusted, mature adult might *gasp* enjoy attending a show on his tour when it comes to town. Now, I know you guys don't care for Clay, so surely you haven't been visiting the thread here on the Dis where we've been discussing his news for three years, but if you had, you'd see that none of us tour the country to attend his shows. Are there fans that do that? Of course. But none of them are in this thread, and it's CERTAINLY not Brandie.
She, like the rest of us, has been to several shows because everytime Clay tours, it is a unique, high-quality production, and a fun night. I've gone to a few myself, and I've gone with three generations of people. As I noted before, it's not all that different from vacations to Disney World.
And to speak to the fact that Brandie (and the rest of us) have been replying in support of Clay - we're just sharing information about a topic which we do, yes, know more about than some of you guys. Not his sexuality, mind you - just his career. Again, I think there's a lot more to be questioned about people who get heated about people/things/topics that they (supposedly) do NOT have any interest in than there is to be questioned about people who speak about the things that they openly ARE interested in.
And, also, Diznygirl - well said.
