clarion universal hotel - any reviews?

it looks like we'll be staying off-site in early may at the clarion universal hotel (for financial reasons). i would like to hear some reviews - i'm basically looking for cleanliness - a clean room/bathroom w/ a clean pool & jacuzzi - hopefully it's more than a 2-person? Also, i'd like to know that the grounds are safe & well-lit. if it's really run-down & not kid-friendly, then i'll have to reconsider. we're looking at a "suite" room, which is a king bed w/ queen sofa bed & hoping the pull-out sofa is comfortable. thanks for any feedback.

Have you checked on Tripadvisor dot com for a review? Maybe you can find something there.

yes, i've read what i can off the net...expedia, etc. but i was just looking for the expert advice usually received from this board.

I've stayed there.

The hotel is fine, not too fancy, but the rooms are clean and comfortable. you get 2 beds easily big enough for 2 adults in both.

There is a jacuzzi and medium size pool. The problem is that around 4pm when we were there the sun went behind the building so the pool and sun terrace got no sun after 4-ish every day.

The restuarant is ok - quite expensive and there is a shop for snacks etc.
