Hi, we are a family of 4 and have a trip planned late May after memorial day and through June 2. I have read mostly good reviews for this hotel but a few others concern me.

If you have recently stayed here within the last several months was your room clean and free of water bugs/roaches. I realize Florida has the typical outside bugs and that is not what I am worried about. A read a couple of posts on Trip Advisor that specifically mentioned roaches and one poster insisted they were on his bed. I would freak out if I woke up and found roaches on my bed and I am not kidding. I can tolerate just about anything snake, lizard, spider no problem but not roaches!

Please give me your opinion of your stay at the hotel. I need 6 nights at a clean hotel does not have to have frills but mini fridge would be nice. We are only going to be showering and sleeping in the room. I am trying to say for under $550 tax included for the six nights. I won't rent a condo although I would love too because I have too many variables that might change and I am afraid I would lose the rental money that I paid.

How is the traffic in late May around this area? Is it a easy commute to the parks turning lanes, arrows at lights?

never stayed there - but don't get upset about a few reviews.

unless you must stay on the first floor - try for a higher room - the roaches are the palmetto bug
http://pestkill.org/insect/bugs/palmetto-bug/

these things are hard to get rid of - they don't live inside the building - so spraying inside does not help.

they live outside - they only come inside to eat.

if you aren't on the first floor - these things generally won't bother you as much. they do fly.

they are all over the South - not just Florida. You have to spray outside to keep them away. Many people from the north try to just spray inside (hotel owners) and that just does not work on these things.

forgot driving.

the problem more people want to turn left - going toward Disney and I4 - so the traffic can get pretty bad. have set at that light for 2 times before could turn - so hoping they have improved that situation.

That helped to clarify things. I lived in Tampa from the time I was 5 until I turned 15. I am very familiar with the palmetto bug. I detest them and can't stand that they fly. If that is primarily the problem I may reconsider the Clarion Inn. My brother has stayed there a couple of times and did not have any issues.

We drove down a day early and stayed here for one night and didn't have any problems with bugs or traffic. It was a short drive to DTD and we didn't encounter much traffic until we reached the DTD parking area. It was a Saturday night so we expected it. The room was great aside from the rubber bath mat, it was kind of dirty so we just set it aside and didn't use it. The rest of the room was clean and there was a mini fridge and microwave.

We stayed here for 2 weeks in september. The only problem we had was the tv remote didnt work but other then that we had no issues with the hotel. Our room was on the first floor up and facing the car park so not sure how loud the other side would be, and we didnt use the pool but it looked ok.

The bus service was really good, times not great but the service bus runs right past the hotel so used that a few times. Id have no issues staying here again.

We stayed here for one night on 11-23 after a week long stay at Windsor Hills. We ended up staying here through a priceline bid. We only stayed long enough to sleep.

It was fine for a one night stay, but I don't think I would want to stay there much longer. Keeping in mind I'm comparing this to the Windsor Hills rental, previous on-site stays, and an off-site stay at Marriot a few years ago... the traffic was busy but not crazy- what should have been a 15 minute trip took 30 minutes... The noise from the traffic was bad (we faced the road) but we were all still able to sleep from being exhausted... wasn't able to check-in early, and there will be a timeshare offered... how pressing I don't know because they left me alone after realizing I was leaving the next morning.

The restaurant appeared nice, and reasonably priced. The pool that was outside our room was pretty basic, but I think there was another. The game room looked pretty cool, and there was a little shop on property.

Did not have any issues with bugs, but were on the 3rd floor.
